Should I buy a 2010 Ninja 250R with 3583 kms on it, regularly serviced and in good shape for 1.5 Lacs?

The N250R was one gem of a machine. A proper sports bike. Now the odo reading can be tampered with seeing that the N250 had the old modeled ones..You know, the ones with spinning number kinds?? Yep those. They can be messed up and can even be reset as well.If you can get those number verified, then the engine hasn’t been used much. Or it has been used for track days only. Guess the history of the bike will tell you the details.Me being a Kawasaki owner, don’t expect you to find the service history as I get mine done outside the showroom. So I doubt that N250’s story would be any different. My take would be: -Get the history of the bike from the owner. There is not much info in the question as of now, and I would like to have more information if am planning to go for a 2nd hand oneCheck for parts availability nearby. N250 was discontinued long back in India, and you can definitely get spares from Thailand and Indonesia, but just to be sure, check if any Kawa dealer are still stocking up on the parts. If not, AliExpress and Amazon would do the trick.Negotiate a better price. This price is good, but for a bike which has been bought in 2010, that’s a 8 year long gap. And it has ONLY 3583 kms on it. I use mine(around 80% of it total riding distance) for commute to office and back and yet it has 12K kms on it. That too in 1 year. Unless it was used for track days, either it was sitting in the garage just doing nothing, or has been ripped to shreds and might need major overhauling. Either way you will be going to spend more money on maintaining it once you buy it. So I suggest you try and bargain for a lesser amount.Hope this helpsHave a great day and ride safeCiao

First bike GSXR or Ninja?

neither bike is good for a beginner. Sportbikes are for riders with riding experience. Learn to ride a bike with less power before jumping on a missile. Youre asking for a wreck.

All these people telling telling you different obviously dont ride.

Is an R1 a good bike for a beginner 17 year old to start with?

my boyfriend is 17 about 6'4" and 220 and is wanting a bullet bike badly, he has his mind set on a Yamaha yzf R1, and wants nothing less, he had ridden atv's and dirt bikes very little previous to this, but wants that to be his first bike....i tell him he needs to start smaller but what do i know. help me is this a good bike for him to start with or is he gonna kill himself?

What should i look for when buying a used kawasaki ninja 250?

Whenever I am looking to buy, I want to see the bike start up COLD. Meaning he didn't ride it anywhere to meet up or started it up before you arrived, you can touch the engine to get an idea. Make sure turn signals work properly. Check the chain to make sure its clean and lubed. Look at the fairings for any scratches caused by drops. Look under the motorcycle for dripping oil. Check the wear on the tires in case pressure is low or if they'll be needing a change soon. Ask how old the battery, tires, and chain is. Why they are selling. Has it been dropped before by them OR ANYONE ELSE (previous owners). I once had a guy tell me it had only been dropped once, but when I was looking over the bike it was clear the bike had been dropped at least once on each side. Ask if he added/removed anything or if its all stock. Asking these questions will give you a better understanding if he's blowing smoke up your a$$. Also if you'll need any up coming maintenance like tires, a battery, chain, etc.

Good luck, wear quality gear, and be safe

Is it likely that i will bet bored with a ninja 250r easily?

Is this your first bike? I would not recommend buying a new bike, Suppose you don't like motorcycling? Now you on the hook for a chunk of change. Consider buying a good condition used bike for 1/2 to 1/3 of the price of a new one. Remember as soon as you ride a newly purchased new bike on public road, it's a used bike. When you get ready to sell the bike so you can get something bigger, you can sell a used bike to close to what you paid for it.

Now to your question- NInja 250 is a great starter bike, lots of fun very nimble and will build your confidence. You may also consider the Ninja 500 or Kawasaki EX500r. Both bikes are fun, light nimble and reliable. Both look great and will allow you to develop your riding skills.

Why are motorcycle dealers closed on Mondays?

So they can keep the staff on a 5 day work week and still be open on one day during the weekend for people that are out riding.

But not all shops follow that schedule. I've worked for a couple of shops that were open Monday to Saturday. They would rotate one day off during the week. We all had Sunday off but our second day off would be somewhere in the middle of the week. I would have Tuesday off, one co-worker would have Wednesday off, and another co-worker would have Thursday off. I would rather work for a Tuesday-Saturday shop and have two days off in a row versus the split days off crap.

The other reason for being open on Saturdays instead of Monday is that is when a lot of people have time to ride.

What's the best motorcycle for beginners?

Reddit has a good list from http://www.reddit.com/r/motorcyc...: Primarily, something you feel comfortable riding and not  overwhelmed. Recommendations: Anything 600cc or less, with the exception  of 600cc inline four sports bikes (i.e. not CBR600s, YZF-R6s, GSX-R600s  and the like). Please don't start on a Hayabusa.
