How Often Should I Change The Oil In My 125cc Dirtbike

When to do my first oil change on my new dirt bike?

I just got a 2015 Yamaha 125, I have been riding it about 5 hours and was wondering if I should do the first oil change. This is my first bike. Also how often should I change the oil?

How often should i change the oil in my 125cc dirtbike?

I just bought a 2-stroke 2006 kawasaki klx125 dirtbike and i was wondering how often i should change the oil, i was hearing once a year and every 10 hours?!? What is it? The what else should i be worrying about when it comes to the maintenance of it, such as filters and stuff...

How frequently should engine oil of bike be changed?

My recommendation is the engine oil should be replaced based on the following priorities.Usage.Kms clocked.Time.Riding a motorcycle for 10kms per day, which clocks to a total of 300kms a month is less of a damaging degree to the engine when compared to riding 300kms in a single day.As an example, Riding 300kms in single day will put tremendous stress on the engine, which doesn’t mean the engine can’t take the stress. Its just the engine heats up tremendously and engine oil is worked up to its limits. In this way the oil degrades way faster. So assuming the manufacturer recommend to replace oil at every 2500kms, the person who’s riding 10kms per day could very well follow the procedure to the dot. But the person who is riding 300kms per day should replace the oil at 1000–1500kms at best for the sake of wellness of the engine. This is a policy i follow. Replace engine oil based on usage and not by the book instructions. But be sure you use only the recommended grade of engine oil. Fill it in recommended level. In most cases using cheap mineral oil and replacing it frequently is more beneficial for the engine than using high cost synthetic oil and opting for longer draining interval. As a general recommendation i suggest replace oil at 2000kms or 2 months in case of mineral/semi-synthetic. 3000kms or 2.5 months in case of fully synthetic oil.

What's a good estimate for a 125cc 2 stroke dirtbike engine rebuild for an 01 Honda cr125?

In my area, you'll pay around $250 to have a top end done at a franchised dealership. A local shop would probably be in the $200 range, and you can do it yourself for $125 or less.

A basic top end on your bike is easy. It has a chrome looking nickosil sleeve. If they need boring they probably need replacing. They can't be bored and have to be resleeved. The thing is, this material is so tough it seldom wears enough to warrant it. So all you'll likely need is a piston, rings, small end bearing, wrist pin, circlips and gasket set.

Doing the work isn't hard, for the most part it can be done without removeing the engine from the frame, and won't involve any special tools outside of a torque wrench. Find a friend or rider that has done it before and get them to help you. It's something every self respecting dirt rider should know how to do! *lol*

If the bike shifts well, has no clutch slippage, doesn't overheat, and was basically running OK, in all probability it is. Check for oil and coolant leaks around the seals and gaskets prior to teardown. If none are detected, just do the top end and roost on. Otherwise, you might want to get someone with experiance to check for whatever problem you feel it has. Diving into the cases get a little more involved and should wait until you get a little more experiance.

Seriously, don't be afraid to attempt it yourself, especially with help. Wrenching on your own bike helps you to know it and understand it better. Gives you an idea of what it, and you, can and can't do. Not to mention the labor charges saved so that you can afford more seat time!

Good luck.

Is it safe to use 10W - 40 oil in a dirt bike?

I have a Coolster 125cc dirt bike: http://www.coolster.com/cms/dirtbike/117-qg-214fc125cc.html

That's the website; it has diagrams and the manual (the manual has very poor English, so it's hard to understand sometimes) for the bike.

I need to put oil in it (pg. 7 of the manual), but I don't know if I can put "Super Tech High Mileage SAE 10W-40" motor oil in it or not. The oil is for engines with 75000+ miles on it, and this dirt bike was made late 2007 and isn't likely to have that many miles anyways. I just want to know if this oil is compatible with this dirt bike, and it not, then what is the best oil to use? Thanks for all help!

How do you fix a seized dirt bike engine?

My mother inlaw has some dirt bike on her property i've decided to get runnin again but the engine is seized I can imagine how to fix it but just wondering if any one has any easier suggestions other than ripping the entie block apart. The dirt bike although had it's quirks ran when it was put away back in 1997 it's been in storage in a shed so it's not totally destroyed it appears to be a 1975 yamaha enduro 400 does any one have any advice othen that ripping the hole block apart to free the piston? Like I said it was good before it sat so i'm sure it's just seized from rust or what ever any advice?
