How Soon Can You Take Aspirin After Ibuprofen

How soon can I take ibuprofen after aspirin?

Well if you are really sore you can take 3 ibuprofen 3x a day. At least that's what my doctor told me to do. Also because aspirin and ibuprofen are not the same, you can take them close together so I would take the ibuprofen right now. I usually don't use aspirin. I will take 2 tylenol and then 2 hours later take my ibuprofen. Then I take tylenol again in 2 or 3 hours followed by the ibuprofen 2 or 3 hours later so that there are at least 4 hours between Tylenol and 4 hours between the ibuprofen.
so say:
12:00 take 2 tylenol
2:00 take 2 ibuprofen
4:00 take 2 tylenol
6:00 take 2 ibuprofen

Hope your shoulder feels better soon.

they are not toxic together. Here is what the FDA says:

--------------------------------------...

"If your doctor told you to take aspirin to help prevent a heart attack, you need to know that taking ibuprofen at the same time, for pain relief, may interfere with the benefits of aspirin for the heart.
It is all right to use them together, but the FDA recommends that you contact your doctor for more information on the timing of when to take these two medicines, so that both medicines can be effective.

This information reflects FDA’s current analysis of data available to FDA concerning this drug.
FDA intends to update this sheet when additional information or analyses become available."

Can ibuprofen be taken with aspirin?

Ibuprofen raises the risk of cardiovascular disease by its action on COX 1 and COX 2 enzymes,, and also can increase GI bleeding. Low dose aspirin is useful in heart ds and stroke reduction by decreasing platelet stickiness.Taking both simultaneously will reduce the aspirins ability to decrease platelet stickiness. FDA recommendation is to wait 30 min after aspirin use to take a dose of ibuprofen to minimise this. I would suggest talking with your doctor aas to the best agent for you to use for pain/fever.Information for education only, not as medical treatment

Is it safe to take ibuprofen and aspirin in one day?

Ibuprofen WILL cause stomach ulcers down the line if you take them heavily on a regular basis. It sounds like there is a deeper issue that needs resolving. As for now, go ahead and take some aspirin, as long as you are taking the recommended allowance.

Is it safe to take Ibuprofen shortly after taking aspirin?

Both Aspirin and Ibuprofen are in the NSAID class. If you ONLY are taking a baby aspirin, 81mg, especially if it is enterically coated, then taking Ibuprofen occasionally might be OK but it can be risky since it can increase your chance of a GI bleed. If you are treating pain or fever, the better drug to take with Aspirin would be Tylenol. If you are treating a chronic inflammatory condition like rheumatoid arthritis, then you need to ask your doctor about combining another NSAID with the Aspirin. If you are taking 325 or 650mg of Aspirin, then you should not be combining it with Ibuprofen. It’s best if you consult your doctor, to see if your personal risk factors would make you more prone to a GI bleed or other serious side effects. I have provided a link to the FDA page about Aspirin and Ibuprofen:Information about Taking Ibuprofen and Aspirin TogetherFor single doses of ibuprofen, the interaction (decreasing Aspirins heart protective effect) can be minimized if ibuprofen is given at least 8 hours before or at least 30 minutes after immediate release aspirin (81mg; not enteric coated).

How long after taking ibuprofen should one wait before taking diclofenac?

They’re both the same class of drug, NSAIDs, & thus work in the same way. If you’re taking half the maximum recommended dose of one, you might be able to simultaneously take up to half the maximum recommended dose of the other. Certainly no more.It may be reasonable to always treat them like that, & think of them as the same drug in terms of the safe dose. But base that on the proportions of the recommended dose, not the simple quantity. X number of milligrams of one does not equal the same number of milligrams of the other. But note that they are not fully equivalent in terms of likelihood of side effects. My experience (& I’ve had a couple of episodes of conditions which were treated with prolonged dosing with NSAIDs) is that diclofenac is more likely to give gut problems. Taking NSAIDs on an empty stomach, or when your stomach is irritated, can be painful.Disclaimer: I have no medical qualifications.
