How To Acces Phone Info

How much information can a phone app developer access on my phone?

It is very likely that you have various applications installed on your smartphone that use your data - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Yahoo, Google, Dropbox, Flickr; they all access your user data in different ways. When you install an app from the app store, you get a pop-up asking you for different permissions that the app needs to work. Many a times, it has nothing to do with what the app does. For example, there are utility apps, like flashlight, that will ask for access to your contacts. Why would a flashlight app need access to anything beyond the flashlight? Some such apps gather your data to be used in other things. In this case they want to gather information about your contacts and use it for other purposes. Here's another fact - Apps don't need many permissions to build up a comprehensive user profile, as said by INRIA researcher Vincent Roca. He described how, simply by requesting access to the permissions "Internet" and "Access_Wifi_State," an application could identify the phone through the MAC address of its Wi-Fi adapter and track its movements around the world. The app could even allow its developer to map the user's social network by sending information about the time at which it encountered particular Wi-Fi networks to a central server, where it could be compared with similar information from other phones to see who else was in the same place at the same time.Always be knowledgable on what apps you download and what permissions you provide. You can always revisit your Privacy Setting on the phone and make changes if you are not comfortable with those permissions. Here's a blog that we did that can help you understand how permissions work on Android, and how it is misused by malicious apps - Bypassing The Android Permission ModelHope that answers your question.

How to access iCloud backup for iPhone?? Help?!?

I think you should first restore or erase all data before you can restore from an iCloud backup.

So what you should do is restore it via iTunes first. After restoring is complete, you will be taken to a couple of steps to setup your iPhone, like language selection and etc. Then it will ask you if you want to set up your iPhone as a new iPhone or to restore from an iCloud backup. So you choose resore from iClod backup and your phone should be restored.

I think you can get the same thing if you erase all data and settings on your iPhone (I am not sure about that though). But theoretically the iPhone should ask you to setup your phone after a data wipe.

Good luck Nikki,

How can I access a cell phone's history from the internet?

Login to your cell phone companies website. You may have to setup and account with your number if it's your first time.
Depending on the features the carrier offers you should be able to see you bills, phone calls, voice mail even. You can cancel bills in the mail and just look and pay online with some.
If you are on family plan you should be able to see the other phones info on your account to. At least thats how it is with AT&T(cingular)

I lost my other yahoo email info, phone# and recovery email, and need my password reset and the link sent to a different email.?

I havent used the email in a really long time, and since then my number has changed a few times, and i dont have access to any of the previous cell numbers, so I need a password reset link sent to my friend's email so that i can reset the password to log in. I can verify my identity, but it seems that yahoo help sucks, since there is no other way to talk to account help other than the forums, which are utterly useless, as they are literally repeating the same steps that cannot be done.
How much sense does it make to have to reset a password on an old account, then only be able to get the link sent through the original email?
