How do I start becoming a babysitter at 13?

one jump start is the ‘child care’ class offered at the Y and other places for teens. Most require one to B a minimum of 12 y/o. It’s nice 4 two reasons: U can use it as a flag to wave for parents lookin 4 good, better, best sitters; it will touch some high points of what U may already know - placing them in the frnt of ur mine for better care as well.Think of wrk as ‘professional’. Name it professionally - “I’m child care provider” (U can even specialize in it - later, much later - such as “early child care”, ‘infant cc’, youth cc, etc). Make a resume (seek guidance on this frm school, parents, older teens). Print up & have available. U may wish to make them up as a sort of advertisement (different format, extract some info frm resume 4 this) w/ur contact info. Lastly after some jobs - seek ‘references’ frm those who have been happy w/ur wrk. Place their contact info on another sheet. These can B tools to further ur wrk’n professionalism.Folks ur age will have 3 - 4 careers. Not jobs like me (or like my dad 1 job 30 - 40 yrs). The important thing is - exactly what you’ve done, just get goin! Congrats on maturity well beyond most 13 y/o young woman! Have fun at it, there’s plenty of time to get serious later. Balance it out w/school, after school activities (may B most important cuz here is where U develop a life long passion, 1 that carries U thru ol age), socializing w/friends and this ‘work’; U need some solo, down, relax time too~

How do I become a babysitter fast when there are not many people hiring?

I’d recommend getting your standard first aid certification as well as a babysitting license. If you have those things, then you simply need to advertise.Network with your parents’ friends and ask them to advertise your services. When I started babysitting at around thirteen, I asked my parents to advertise my services to their friends and colleagues with young children. For me, that worked like a charm. If for whatever reason, advertising isn’t enough, post advertisements around your neighbourhood- mailboxes, community centres, etc.

How do you get babysitting jobs?

I am fourteen years old & want to know the best way to get a babysitting job. I have tons of experience & I adore kids but I just don't know how to get clients. My school has a directory with all the little kids names, numbers & addresses, so would it be creepy (for the parent) if I mailed them my flyer? What are some other ways? I don't want to put my flyer up anywhere where creepy people can get it. Also, does anyone know of places on the internet I could search for jobs? I looked at Care.com and places like that but they want someone who is at least 17 or older.
So my main three questions are:
Would it be creepy (for the parent) to send my flyer to them when I barely know them?
Where are some places I can put my flyer up so no creepers can get it?
& What are some online places I can get jobs where I don't have to be older. (I am also willing to pay the site)
Thanks, and if anyone could give some babysitting tips; that would be greatly appreciated

How much should I Get paid for Babysitting?

I'm 14 and I babysit some too. If you're just starting out you don't want to charge to much, but not too little either. Sometimes people in need of a babysitter already have a rate that they pay, so you should ask them. You may get more depending on the age of the children, how many children, and how long you are babysitting for. I babysat for 4 or 5 hours for a 4, 5, and 11 year old and I got 20 bucks. For another job I babysat for an 18 month old and a 3 year old for 11 hours(a job for a few weeks, 2 times a week.) and I got paid 50 dollars. It all depends on the people. When I first started my rate was 2.50 an hour and .50 for each additional child. This was a little cheap and everyone I talked to said it was too. So now I just go by whatever the parents I'm babysitting for usually pay. It works pretty good, you just have to be comfortable talking to your clients about it. Hope this helps!!

Does a normal boy need a babysitter at 13?

Most 13 year olds would not need a babysitter, but it depends on the child.I wouldn’t hesitate to leave my youngest son, who is 13, at home by himself during the day. I would possibly be a bit more cautious at night, but more for my son’s sake than for mine—I would be concerned that he might worry if he heard an unexpected noise. One of my nieces would never stay home alone even when she was in her mid to late teens. There are even adults who don’t like being alone in a house at night.Parents know their children best and are therefore in the best position to know what their children are capable of. Some 13 year olds are very immature and can’t be trusted not to get into trouble. (It was years before I could rely on my sons to lock the door behind them when they came home from school. They would just forget, despite being repeatedly told to lock the door). Other kids might panic if something went wrong, for example if there was an intruder or a fire. While the chances of that happening are slim, it’s not impossible, as news stories show us.Basically, there is no one-size-fits-all rule for leaving your children at home alone. Most 13 year olds would be more than capable of being left at home without a babysitter, but there might be others—even those who are neurotypical—who shouldn’t be left alone at that age. However, having a ‘babysitter’ is demeaning for a teenager. A better option is to have a couple of friends over to keep him company—include one a couple of years older if you can. As long as you know the other teens are responsible, that should work.

Babysitting job for a 14 year old?

When your 14, its hard to get a good babysitting job unless you know a family friend or something. Try asking you Mum or Dad to ask round at work. Maybe teachers have kids they need looking after. Its important to realize how much work looking after kids can be. When i started i was about 14, and i didn't understand how dangerous everything was. My youngest was 5 months and the oldest was 2 years. everything at that age goes in the mouth, i think i had a heart attack at least 3 times a night. Try spending time around really the kids when the parents are there. Something you could get a really difficult child to look after. Get to know the kids first, otherwise you could end up in over your head.

Try looking after kids in a pair at first, bring a friend with you and split the money. 5 dollars an hour per child is a good amount. If your good, they might recommend you to friends. That's what happened to me, now i have 4 families waiting for my service's.

Do not put posters up. You could get randoms calling you, or really bad families wanting your services.

Good Luck

Do you have to be licensed to be a neighborhood babysitter?

There is no law about it and most people aren't. I believe there is such thing as being a certified babysitter but very few people have it and it's not required. Mowing lawn, raking leaves, washing cars, shoveling snow, babysitting, dog sitting, etc. At that age it's really just community stuff that is off the books, at 14 you can find some jobs because you can get working papers but it's easiest to get jobs once your 16. Parents will take whoever is responsible and available.
