How can I calculate my final grade?

You would take the weighted average of all of your grades in the class by calculating the average for each type of grade then multiplying them by the weights stated on the syllabus and adding those numbers up. For example if tests count for 50% of your grade, quizzes count 30% and the final exam counts 20%, you would calculate the average of your test grades and multiply that by 50%, the average of your quiz grades would be multiplied by 30% and your final exam grade would be multiplied by 20%. Then you would add those numbers up to get your overall grade in the class. So in this example if your test average is a 70, your a quiz average an 80, and your final exam grade a 65, your course grade would be 70×.5+80×.3+65×.2=35+24+13=72.

How do I calculate my GPA off of my grades? In my 5 classes I have 92%, 97%, 85%, 100% and a 95%. Assume that the maximum GPA is 4.0 because it is on an unweighted scale.

First express each grade percentage as a decimal by dividing by 100. Multiply each decimal grade by 4.0, then add everything together. Get the gpa by dividing your sum by the number of class grades. This works for high school, not college.Your GPA =((.92*4.0)+(.97*4.0)+(.85*4.0)+(1.0*4.0)+(.95*4.0))/5= 18.76/5= 3.752 → 3.75 unweighted gpa

How Is My Final Grade Calculated?

If your teacher is strictly sticking to their grading policy from the syllabus, then they would have to multiply you're final's score by .3 and add that to the other parts of your class. So if you had:
30% for final
50% for tests
20% for homework...then you would add up all of your scores for the different areas and find the averages. So if you had an 87% average for all of your tests, 100% average for the homework, and a 90% on the final, it would be calculated like this:
87%*.5 + 100%*.2 + 90%*.3 = X%

If they are telling you different values for the tests and finals and such though, i don't think it will be exactly like this. Teachers usually don't change the way they grade stuff, but it usually is in their power to change anything in the syllabus, so beware.....

How Do I calculate my Lecture and Lab Grade?

To compute for this, convert percentages to decimals.
In your case, 70% is 0.70. 30% is 0.30.
(Other examples: 80% is 0.80, 10% is 0.10, 1% is 0.01)

Since your lecture grade is 70%, you multiply your current lecture grade with 0.7.
That is 100 x 0.70 = 70

Your lab grade, which is 81, should be multiplied to 0.30.
That is 81 x 0.30 = 24.3

Add them up, 70 + 24.3 = 94.3

Your grade would be 94.3 :)

How can I calculate my predicted grade in IB?

In English, your final mark is based on three things: your world lit. paper, your orals, and your written exam. If your teacher gives you feedback on your world lit. paper, you can probably get a close estimation of how you’ll score on that. You can look at the mark bands, and be brutally honest with yourself. You should have the feedback on your orals, but remember that those scores can be moderated. If your teacher gave everyone a 7, expect to be moderated down. The tough part is the written exam, but your teacher should have been giving you practice exams with feedback. Next, you have to remember how much weight is given to each of these components. The written exam is 50% of your total score; the world lit. paper and the orals count for 25% each. Remember that a predicted grade is given before the written exam. It’s how your teacher thinks you will do based on your previous classroom performance. If you’re sick on test day and don’t do well, you might score lower than predicted. Maybe the question you write on is one your teacher has really prepared you for (this happened to me once—we discussed staging in Hedda Gabler extensively, and one of the drama questions that year was on staging!).Good luck with your IB diploma. It’s a worthy goal, and it demonstrates a lot about you as a person and as a scholar.
