You can narrow down the possibilities by including the words like "private" (if you want to charter the boat for the private use by your group), "bareboat" (if you want to crew the boat yourself), "cheap" (if you're looking for a terrific deal and not too fussy about amenities or service), "VIP" (if you want top-notch service and price isn't an issue). My wife and I are going on a family group cruise trip and have considered sharing our cabin with one of our guy friend since he does not have a person to stay with. Is this a good idea and what are your experience with sharing a cruise cabin?
How much does it cost to rent a yacht?
Rental price depends on a few things: what type of vessel you are looking for; size of a vessel; age of a vessel and a time in the year you are planning to rent (low or high season).If you are considering to rent a crewed motor yacht it will probably be most expensive type of rental and the price vary depending on a size from 15.000 eur up to 100.000 or even more per week + all other expenses called APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance). APA is calculated as percentage of rental fee (from 20% -30%) and it is paid in advanced. APA funds will cover fuel, marina fees, food and drinks and other expenses that will appear during charter. Captain collects all the receipts and at the end of charter you will get a total expenses. In case there are funds in APA that are not spent, you will get the rest back. In other case you will have to recharge APA.Gulets are also crewed yachts and depending on a size and range of service rental prices vary from app 8.000 eur up to 50.000 eur or more per week + other expenses.Catamarans and sailing boats can be crewed or bareboat depending on a size. Catamarans a bit more expensive than sailing boats I would say and rental prices may vary from 2.000 eur in low season up to 15.000 eur in high season. Sailing boats are bit less expensive and depending on a facts listed already at the beginning of this answer prices start from less that 1.000 eur in low season and can get up to 10.000 eur for bareboat charter. Crewed charter can be even more expensive.
