How To Do My Taxes Pls Just Answer Dont Make It Super Complicated

Why does life becomes complicated as we grow up?

I think you can better understand this by seeing your parents and yourself. Now See yourselfWhen you were a child, you had no worries. Just drink milk, sleep and poop. When you get a little older, you take admission to the school and become the part of the system we live in.And then starts the burden era, The Burden of studies and expectations of our parents. You have to study, study and just study. And with every class you move on, your studies get tougher. And then comes the board exams which, according to our parents, is the most important exam of our life.So we prepare for it, day and night, dreaming about the freedom we will get after the exams. And then after that, The Climax… The results arrive and you pass the examBut wait, this isn't the end of journey, you realize that it's just the beginning. Now comes the most frustrating question in front of usWHAT DO YOU WANT TO BECOME?Most obvious answer would be “I don't know”. But don't worry, our parents have already decided what we have to become. So you just have to obey. And then again, graduation. More study. More distractions. More changes in our body. Finally comes the part, A Job, a settled situation. You do the work, you get the money and you earn respect from the society. And then again, the most important decision of you and your wife's life and both the families, MarriageAnd with marriage, starts the responsibility era.Now you have the responsibility of you, your wife, your kids, your parents, and many more things. Your kids goes through the same journey as you have gone through. So, think about each stages of your life. With every level you cross, the stress increases, the life gets complicated.Your part ends here. Now see your parentsYou can see the smile in their faces. They have successfully completed all the levels of this game we call as “The Life”. Now they are at the last level, waiting for the game over signal. They are happy seeing you and your family. They are proud of raising you as a better person. They are finally free from this system of society. They have no worries now.But again, they have aged. They have diseases. They need to take medicines regularly. It's frustrating. So now do you understand why life doesn't get easier when we get older? You must have played Mario. With each level you cross, it's get difficult. Same goes with life.So after reading all this, what are you thinking?I bet you are thinking about the real Achhe din… when we used to just drink milk and sleep.;-)

What are some good career backup plans if a student is not able to complete the CA course?

This question might hurt anyone (even you) who is doing Chartered Accountancy. Frankly speaking their is no any other profession who compete with CA in commerce field. But not everyone is interested (including me).Few months back, I had the same question, I did not found anything except some so called “graduation degrees”, but I didn't want to continue with Accountancy or taxation related. But I had no any other option because I have commerce in 12th.I can't opt B.Sc, I can't opt Computer Science, I can't opt BCA (because I choose economics instead of maths in 12th). I was like I did a biggest mistake to choose commerce. But..Last but not the least, I have some prior knowledge about Computer programming, so, I decided to start with programming. I asked my mum that I don't wanna continue with CA because I lose my all interest but she denied. So, I sit for IPCC examination and thank fully I cleared my both groups, then/now articleship. I am doing articleship in front of my mum and family but I am running my own software development company and I am pretty much happy with that!Well, do what, what you want! Not for backup plans. Here are some more suggestions alternatives for CA.

Ok this is a very complicated question about taxes? Please help?

Since they were together all year, they must file as married. He can file as MFJ if he has all her information. If not, he must have her social security number to file MFS electronically. If your daughter-in-law filed first, I am sure she claimed your Grandchild. Your son cannot claim the child again. If he can make the case that he supported the family by earning more than his wife, the IRS may rule in his favor for the Child Credit and exemption. If he does not have the wife's SS#, mail in the MFS return, leave the wife's SS# block blank, attach a letter of explanation listing his wife's full name and the address of her employer, and let the IRS sort it out.
If she filed anything other than MFS the IRS will take her refund and generally make her life miserable.

How do I do my taxes?

Like Jessica Gray, I have filed my own taxes every year since I first had a job. The basic design of the forms tends to stay the same over the years, so you get used to them.I had an income tax class in law school, where some of the general principles of interpretation were discussed.I also had a class in basic accounting in undergraduate school, though I don’t keep books in quite the same form. But mostly I figure my taxes using the instructions to the relevant forms that are provided by the IRS. They’re pretty comprehensive, they’re all easily accessible on the IRS’ web site, and for me they’ve been more than adequate. (Except the ones for Form 4562. Form 4562 is the tenth circle of Hell.) There are also “IRS Publications” that give pointers on more complex topics, and if worse comes to worst, I’ll break out the regulations and read those. That’s quite rare for my own tax return, but occasionally I encounter a client who needs some direction with regard to a strange issue. If I had something more complicated than a sole proprietorship where I use a straight-up cash accounting method, I might seek the assistance of someone who is in fact an expert in the matter.

Question about filing an amended return. PLEASE HELP!!!?

First thing first. You need to find where the $1000 change lies. If possible print out your "new" form 1040 from the software and match it line to line with your pdf file. The 1040x is going to have you put in the "new" numbers and show where the change is. I am thinking it might be your educational credit. The educational credits were increased in 2008 and 2009 if you lived in midwest disaster state which you did. I would just use a 1040x and try typing in the numbers yourself and filing that way and not using the software (after you have the new numbers printed out). When sending in a 1040x, just send in the form along with any other documents or schedules that substantiate the change. In your case if it is the educational credits, it would be the Form 8863. Good luck with this. You seem like you are capable enough to get this done on your own.

Also there is such thing as software error especially in turbo tax. I am a paid preparer and have fixed many of these errors where the software didn't carry forward certain numbers.

Paper filed returns for previous years can take 12 to 16 weeks to process so know you will be waiting a little while after you file to hear back. Same goes for amended returns.

How does E-flilig my taxes work? With H&R Block's Free File? Or with TurboTax's All Free?

So I want to file my taxes online, but I have a few concerns. For people who have used the free versions of these Free File software:
How did it work out?
Is it pretty safe?
How soon did you receive your return?
Did you have to pay any hidden fees for these programs?
And have you used these programs years in a row with it still being free, or did you have it free for the first year then have to pay for the next year?

Please specify which software you used to file your taxes when answering these questions, please.
Thank you!

How do you determine the "basis for land only" separately from the "property’s total basis" on schedule E?

I bought a house this year to rent to my parents and aunt. I do not live there. I have always done my taxes myself before and really want to still do that unless it's too complicated. I am using H&R block online. It asks for "Property’s total basis" and then "Basis for land only". It says this is Form 4562.

I researched some and I see that for the total basis you add the cost of buying it, the settlement costs, taxes you paid then, etc. I could figure this out. But I can't really find info about how to find the "basis for land only". I bought a house so the total cost was land and house included. One page mentioned it showing the amount for the land only on the real estate bills but I thought that was the total amount. Someone else said look on the mortgage appraisal but that only shows the full amount also, not with land separate.

I understand the purpose is to separate the land, which does not depreciate, from the property which does.
I just need to know how to find a number to put in for the land.

Can You Trust Turbo Tax Programs?

I am a teacher who makes about $32,000 plus a few thousand more a year from a summer job.

My tax return wasnt extremely complicated, but Im still nervous.

My Turbo Tax program performed a search for errors and said that I am "low risk" for an audit, and it doesnt see any errors or red flags.

If I did make a mistake, can I plead ignorance, and say that I trusted my Turbo Tax's "scan of my return?" Does Turbo Tax get it right?

Thanks!
