While I have never actually met a “flat-earther”, they certainly exist, and they are equal parts infuriating and utterly hilarious. What is the worst behavior a student exhibited during your class?
I woke up smiling because it was the last day of 6th grade. After today, I would be a "big kid", a middle-schooler, a MAN. I knew that today would be the day, the day I would forever be remembered for. It just so happens that my teacher had the science lab as her classroom. This simple fact made the possibilities for chaos endless. I plotted and schemed a plan with my friends, for a moment we felt like Italian mafia members, planning our next big move. I looked across the room and noticed a big metal chain connected to what looked like a shower head. Just like Einstien, the light came on! I leaned in to share my master plan. "we should pull the emergency shower!!" Now at the time, this idea seemed brilliant, looking back, it was not very smart at all. We all lined up and headed to lunch. As we ate, the anticipation was building and I had successfully recruited an accomplice to my mischief. 5 minutes before the end of lunch my friend and I ran to the classroom and waited until the rest of the class would be walking in. We saw the "line leader" walk through the door and we immediately jolted for the shower handle. With a swift yank the flood began. While we had pictured a small sprinkle coming out of the emergency shower, we were thoroughly, I repeat thoroughly, surprised when Noah's Ark round 2 began. From that point on, everything was slow motion, my short existence was flashing before my eyes. Thankfully, within about 30 seconds reality hit me. I ran back towards the shower pull and nearly slipped, but was able to catch myself and release the shower pull. Meanwhile, the teacher had been watching for the past 10 seconds. The screaming began. And oh, did it begin. I made eye contact with my frightened teacher and she starred into my soul, like only a teacher could. "MILES, IN THE HALL!!!!" My moment was done, my dream of fame, slowly ended with a brief walk to the hall. Luckily, I was blessed with an ability to talk my way out of anything. We talked for a few minutes and somehow I was able to convince her that it was an accident. To this day, I'm not sure how I managed that. She asked me to go back inside and with a smirk on my face I victoriously walked in. My moment of fame was now. I did it. I am a "'man"!Needless to say, I'm 20 now and this still gets brought up to this day.To all the teachers out there, I apologize on behalf of the crazy kids. You are appreciated.
