What happens if you put regular mail in the express mailbox (U.S.)?
I accidently put my regular mail in there today. Will they figure out it is in the wrong box, and handle it, or will they send it back to me? Also, will it take longer to reach its destination because it has to be transferred out of the bag with the express mail?

so im 16 and im moving from sudbury Ont to hamilton Ont, and i Have to take the bus there is no way to get a car. and looking at all my stuff i think i will have 3 or 4 bags (most liky duffel bags and suitcases) plus my back pack as my carry on. can i bring 4 bags ? how much will it cost extra ? (and can i bring my acoustic guitar on the bus? do you think it will damaged ?)
If I ship a box of potato chips to the Philippines by USPS express by aircraft will the bags explode?
I fly private jets. There are sometimes bags of chips on board but it was only last week that we had them expand to perhaps twice their normal size. We got them just b4 takeoff and they were in the cabin and in the cockpit. They were not from one of our usual caterers, but were from a Subway. We were at 43,000 feet with a cabin altitude of about 7,000 to 7,500 feet. It was fun, actually. They did not explode, but they seemed close to it. Incidentally, on most private jets, the externally loaded cargo areas are unpressurized. Also, to correct one of the answers (from student pilot) above: the cabin of a pressurized private jet will maintain sea level (or departure airport elevation) pressure to about 20,000 to 24,000 feet. The cabin pressure is not decreasing throughout the entire climb. Most of the increase in cabin altitude (decrease in cabin pressure) happens above 23,000 feet, depending on high how above that you climb to.

Nope - don't do it!!! Not even if you pay the extra bit for priority confirmation. I used to work for the USPS, (no disgruntled jokes please), and I know how things can really turn to custard. Why are you mailing it anyway? Regardless, if you need to send it and you want to use the Post Office, take the time to go into the PO. You could use Express Mail - NOT Priority, Express Mail. This requires a signature on receipt, and you can track it online. However, if it were me, I would spend the extra money to send it registered mail and ALSO insure it. (for the cost of replacement, including photos and postage). Whatever you do be sure to save your receipts. When I applied for my US passport from the Louisiana office, I paid the extra fee and they sent it using Express Mail. Last time I had to mail my passport, I was overseas and they provided the mailing envelope and picked it up. Please take the time and spend the money to safeguard your passport. It is a BIG hassle getting a replacement, not to mention the inconvenience.....
USPS hold mail for more than 30 days?
You can not do that online. If you need to hold mail for longer than 45 days, you have 2 options. You can make a temporary Change of Address to a family member or trusted friend, to expire in 45 days, or, you would need to request of the Postmaster at the Post Office that serves your delivery address, in writing, that the PM approve a length of longer than 30 days. Many people opt to do a temp change. Although you can't really think of anything right now, it seems that things pop up that need to be addressed and taken care of while your mail is sitting on a shelf for over a month.
