How To Find Ideas To Decorate My Apartment On A Tight Budget. I Was Looking

Decorating an apartment?

Since your colors are hunter green and wood I would go with the cabin theme.Since you can't use nails to hang stuff try using that thick white double sided tape,I used it to hang stuff in my kitchen and it works really good. You can change the look of a room with curtains, throw pillows, lightswitch plates, lamps, clocks, coasters, draw pulls and area rugs.Hang some signs or rustic prints on the walls with the double sided tape.If you have room you can use floor shelves and add accessories to it.Get some throw blankets for the end of your bed and the arm of your couch. You could buy a new bed set for you bedroom that would change the look in there. If you want to go with the cabin theme check out Cabindecoroutlet.com and Cabinfevergift.com.Good Luck and I hope this helps.

Getting married on a tight budget, looking for ideas.?

my husband and i got married with a very tight budget too... it was a small wedding but turned out to be beautiful. we were in college at the time and got married in the church on my campus (it was a christian school) so that didn't cost but $200. we got the reception hall at a local hotel for free (they had just opened and used us as publicity for other weddings)- however the room was only $85 to begin with. we bought silk flowers (cheaper than fresh, and last forever!) and made our own arrangements.. we found a lot of stuff on sales, or went to the dollar store for some little things... the center pieces on the tables were a candle, in a small glass hurricane with a flower ring around the bottom. they were only $3 a piece to make and we only had like 12. alos, if you can find a small resteraunt to cater that's good.. or if you have friends that would help out... you could make it just a small reception with more finger type foods (many of which you or your friends could make in the days before the wedding) also- you could buy things in bulk at like sam's or Bj's and buy appetizer type stuff there... my mother is a baker and made the cake... you can find the wilton line of decorating stuff at walmart.. they also have a small learner's kit that you could use.. plus, take a look at the books they have there, or go to the library and get one on cake decorating.. it doesn't have to be perfect.... hope this all helps, good luck with your wedding... congrats to you both

Cheap ideas to decorate my apartment on a budget?

Check out thrift shops, flea markets and estate sales. Don't be afraid to pick up items set out on the curb for trash either. Sometime people throw away good stuff! You have to have an immagination, but sometimes things can be painted, recovered with new fabric or a few jewels can be glued on. I need help with creative ideas to decorate an apartment on a budget!?

Everything can be used as something it's not!For instance: a dresser in back of the couch can help seperate a lg. room by topping it with a small lamp, pictures etc. Wha-la! You now have a sofa table! Buy cheap cloth from the craft area of a store and cover old ugly cushions for throw cushions.
Hang drapes or curtains from the top of the wall to crate a long window look...hang them covering a wall with no windows to create the illusion and you might even put a large mirror behind them.
Use paint (I've even used roofing tar) to create a new cabinetry look. Put a green plant in each room to make it feel "airy". In a very small area you don't have to use very small furniture- that accentuates the size. Use overstuffed for a comfortable cozy look. If you need storage..consider using a trunk, footlocker,or hopechest for a coffee table...it's a great place to store blankets and such.
The bathroom sometimes is to small for shelves..use a basket and roll your towels for a spa look. Shower liners can be in your tub while you can hang a real curtain slit up the middle 3/4 of the way to add a fresh look without buying a $40. curtain! I'm queen of cheap, make-do, type of decorating. I get so many compliments and nothing I do to my home cost any more than what I spend on lunch. Have a good time. Oh- 1 more thing!...If you need "real artwork"...close your eyes and paint with your colors on a canvas...that's what my little boy and I did to make our garage sale furniture match our crappy apt. and it looked like a magazine picture when we were done.

I don't know how to arrange or decorate my apartment!?

First of all, i would think of a theme you want to go with.
so modern? you mean as in technological and retro modern or more like a conservative and natural modern or a chic modern?

one thing i suggest is the markets! they are sooo great to pick up little nick nacks that can decorate the house and relativley cheap- dont forget to huggle!
if you want prcatical things- garage sales have a lot of "needs" and old things can be mixed with mew to give it a more vintage appeal.
with the rugs, you can look at buying one from a factory outlet, if you buy directly from a factory, you will miss the "middle man" and pay a cheaper price.
I have wooden floors in my home, they are really lovely, i do love them but they are work. you will have a lot more cleaning, but they are gorgeous!
i find that if i had wooden floors maybe put some non slip fabric underneath the lounge and furniture, so it doesn't scratch it.
With the curtains, if you dont want to buy some, you could always make your own. below are some links as to how, if you are creative. personally, depending on the window type you can go for different looks:
1. curtains- make the room appear softer- so this fits in with a chic look really well. id pick white or a neutral colour, because this will go with any other colour scheme you add later.
2. vertical blinds- i personally dont like them as much, but they are great at makeing the room appear taller. the celings will appear higher with these.
3. horizontal blinds- really really nice to make the house appear modern, especially the wooden ones and these also work well with wooden floors (if you decide to add that later). the problem with these is that they tend to collect dust easy, and need cleaning regularly (or more so than curtains).
4. Roman blinds are also good, and look relly nice too (just another option).

another good idea to do up a room is the cusions you add to the room. if you add cusions to the lounge of different sizes, shapes and textures this adds great effect, and a nice throw rug finishes it off. these are some ideas. i have heaps more, if you want any more ideas on specific things just add details and ill edit it and tell you my opinion.
good luck

Need help on decorating on a tight budget!?

Decorating for the holidays can be cheap!!! I always save my money for lights and make almost everything else myself!

At you good at coloring/painting? I don't mean like an artist, I mean like children's level? If so, you can make an awesome window display.

I like to buy poster (tempera) paints-- red, blue, yellow, white & black. That way I can make all colors of the rainbow by mixing them. I paint my windows. It washes off the glass after the season (just cover the tracks & frames & windowsill with paper/tape when painting & when cleaning so you don't drip).

Here's a great way to do it: tape coloring page pictures (from a dollar store or from online free printables) to the window. Then go outside with a dry erase marker and trace the lines. Then come inside and paint in the lines. Then go outside and wipe away the marker with a paper towel.

Another great idea-- collect pine cones. Get a $1 can of gold or silver spray paint and spray them outside on newspapers. Then just stick a tack in the top with a hook and you will have beautiful ornaments.

Another great idea we're using this year-- we're making paper snow flakes out of plain white printer paper, iron them gently to flatten them again, spray them with a very light coating of glitter glue and hang them from threads from the ceiling. It will look like it's snowing in the house over our heads.

Look up home-made clay recipes (the kind with flour, baking soda, corn starch, etc.) and make some. Roll it out. Use holiday cookie cutters to cut them out. Use a toothpick to make a little hole in it for a hook. Let them dry in a warm place a day or two (like the oven). Then paint them with poser paints. These make awesome ornaments.

Here's lots of ideas for decorating, cards, gifts, foods, etc., all on a budget:

How to totally redecorate an apartment on a very strict budget?

if you can needle point then you can make your own art for the wall just buy some fabric and draw your picture or even a word fraze like god bless this house or a house is made of walls and beams a home is made of love and dreams you could even paint your own art I would go with natural walls that way any thing you get will match also I would not buy expensive paint because you are renting and you never know how long you will be there also get some bowls and and put potpourri or some balls or what ever you like candles are nice just take your time do one room at a time and have fun also don't get to stuck on the budget remember if really like it you will save money in the long run because you will keep it longer and enjoy it more besides that most times friends and family will buy things for birthday holiday's or just because they think you would like it or get some hand-me downs from them

For someone who can't decorate and is on a very tight budget how can I get someone to come in and help get my apartment looking like Pinterest?

Spend less on furniture and more on little pieces. You can find DIYs to customise your walls using old frames, or maybe even wooden planks. Purchase decors like monuments, fake flowers, cushions, small pieces like that from secondhand stores, Target or flea markets. You can also get a scented candle to make it feel like a Pinteresty room, and some christmas lights to put around your dressing table. Remember to start with a theme in mind, or your decorations will clash with each other. Good luck:)

I want to re decorate my room, on a budget.?

Im sixteen, my budget will be around $200 that wont be all at once but over a bit of time.
My room is huge, that would also be because its not really a room but a whole basement lol.
My walls are so plain and boring! They are this ugly plain cream color that's a bit more yellow than cream, and they are that weird spongy looking texture (that is th only way i know how to describe them lol)
I have a few posters up nothing special.
I just don`t know what to do to this place!
I don`t have a closet at the moment, i have this ugly clothing rack, but that`s alright soon ill have my great grandmas old wardrobe or armoire i think they are the same thing aren't they lol.

Things i like to help give you an idea.
I have always wanted one of those beds with the curtains around them, but i don't know how to get that with just a normal bed, i don`t even have a bed head Bord, and all i have is one of this metal frames for my bed so that's another thing that is really plain!.
I love LOVE leopard print, same with zebra or any animal print.
I like dark colors, dark reds, black, but would leopard go with red ?
I like anything rock or metal!! ha ha i may look like a girly girl on the out side but on the inside i pure metal head! lol
I like anything that looks punk or gothic, but i also have a thing for Classic looking things.
I really don't have anywhere to store things, defiantly not my makeup, i don't even have anywhere to do my makeup and hair but on the floor and my lighting for doing so is HORRIBLE.
I have heard of people using fabric for decoration but how would they do that?? That would most defiantly be something i am interested in because it would be cheap.

Thank you for reading and thank you for any help you give =)

How do I make my first apartment to look luxurious on a budget?

Firstly, the concept of a tight budget varies from individual to individual. While answering your question, I am assuming that you have a provision just enough to do all the basic furniture and decor by yourself , but not upscale enough to engage professional contractors or a Designer. The first thing that a person on a restricted budget should do, is to avoid any kind of civil work! That would include any sort of demolition, masonry, tiling, reconstruction, plasterwork, electrical, plumbing etc.Decide on a decor style that does not require you to make any significant changes to what you already have in the raw form!Your next target would be to find sane and knowledgeable technicians who would execute the jobs for you with at least a minimum acceptable quality. You would find contacts of such technicians at relevant shops concerning their trade. For example, a vendor dealing in plywood could refer you to a good Carpenter. A Paints dealer could refer you to a good Painter… and so on.Next would be to find suitable materials that define that look you seek. Laminates, wallpapers, textures, decorative light fixtures, rugs, cushions, curtains, wall decorations… Surf your city inside out for it. And if you still don't find something you like in local markets, there's Amazon!Unless you are likely to be doing immensely better 5 years hence, and plan to re-do the space at that time, do not opt for MDF or particle board furniture, however luringly economical it may seem right now.Go for washable paint all over..And after all this effort, Hand over the ropes to technicians and hope for the best! :).P. S. :In most cases, in the absence of a competent Consultant, technicians or vendors are often ill-equipped to guide the client. Moreover, they tend to suggest products or services that are more suitable to themselves than to the project. It is always recommended to consult at least a friend, neighbour or family who has recently got their space done up in the same location and budget as yours.
