How To Get Rid Of Keloid Bump On My Industrial Piercing

Cyst/boil/keloid on industrial piercing? Help!?

I have totally been there. My industrial piercing has been really stubborn over the 7 months that I've had it.

The first thing I would do is go to a piercing parlor and show it to them, just to make sure it's not a serious problem.

My piercer told me that bumps are common and that they will clear up eventually with sea salt soaks and vitamin E. The trick with the vitamin E oil is to get gel capsules and poke a hole in them so you can squeeze the liquid onto a Q-tip.

I've been using this method for 4 months and my bumps are almost gone now. It may take a while but I believe it works.

Good luck. I hope everything works out.

How to get rid of piercing bumps / boils on an industrial piercing?

I got my industrial pierced just 7 weeks ago and have been dealing with a bump on the upper inner side. I do soaks with a cotton ball and saline wound wash for 5-10 minutes a couple times a day. It pusses a little bit but not nearly too much. Do I need to use something different and do it more or am I doing everything correctly to treat it and just need to continue to do so?

How do you prevent keloids from forming from an industrial piercing?

Keloids are scars that result from skin trauma. If you wish to prevent keloids on your industrial piercing, you have to get it done by a professional piercer with needles and also take real good care of it so that it does not get infected during the healing period.I had my done with a professional piercer that used sterilized needles. Do not ever go for the gun method if you want an industrial piercing as this type of piercing requires two piercings of the ear cartilage that is connected by a single barbell that requires a lot more precision than the gun method.By now I am assuming you know that industrial piercings take the longest to heal (about a year), hence they require more care and caution. I had bumps forming on the inner part of my ear at the site of the piercing at about 5 to 7 months after getting it done. I contacted my piercer and he advised me to use the green tea bag + sea salt compression method in the shower.Buy green tea sachets. Put one sachet into half cup of medium hot water. Add a quarter of a teaspoon of sea salt into the cup. Let it dissolve for about 10 to 15 minutes before compressing the sachet against your piercing. Before putting the sachet on your ear, make sure it does not burn your skin, it should be just warm. Press it against the piercing for about 3 minutes. Then put it back into the cup, let it absorb the liquid for awhile. Then press it against the piercing again for 3 minutes. After that, use clean cotton buds to wipe off crust surrounding the piercing. Then rinse your ears in the shower water, you’re good to go.I did this once everyday for almost 4 weeks and now my bumps were reduced significantly. The bumps still come and go though since my piercing is still healing but the green tea sachet helps.Avoid chlorine water a.k.a swimming pool. Other than that, not touching the piercing and not sleeping on it are general guidelines that you should follow to prevent any scarring or potential infection. Good luck.

I've had my industrial piercing for 6 months now and I have a bump with puss coming out of it?

by puss do you mean green puss? or a whitish/yellow puss? If it is green you have an infection. In which case, keep doing sea salt soaks and clean with a q-tip like you did until it goes away.

If it is white/yellow...you may just have a follicular cyst. I had these about 9 months after I got my industrial because I kept trying to sleep on that side and put too much pressure on it. What I did to get rid of these was soak my ear in hot sea salt soaks for about 10 minutes, then I actually took my barbell out and used a moist q-tip and gently pushed around the hole and bump and wiped away any puss (and mostly blood) that came out until no more came out. Be careful if you do this as your hole may swell and it may be too difficult to get the bar back in. If you don't want to do that, just soak it and then clean it as best you can with the barbell in. I did this 3 nights in a row and a week later I could not tell the bump was ever there.

Obviously you need to figure out why this bump is there, if you are sleeping on it, you need to stop or the bumps will keep coming back and your industrial will not heal. It's been there for about 6 months so, maybe you're allergic to the jewelry???

Sorry for the late edit, just noticed your comment. I'm not sure how to tell if you are allergic to it or not. I've known a few people that when they wear a metal necklace they will get a rash. Since this is probably the only jewelry of that type you've worn before its hard to tell. Do you know what the barbell is made out of? Usually you want to wear surgical stainless steel barbells until the piercing is completely healed. That could be causing the problem. Are you doing anything to put pressure on you piercing? Other than that the only thing I can suggest is daily sea salt soaks until the bump is gone. If the bump doesn't go away maybe the piercer pierced you at the wrong angle and the pressure of the barbell itself is causing the bump. Switching to 2 short barbells could relieve that pressure if that's the problem. From what you've told me, these are the only problems I can think of that could cause that. Any other questions feel free to email me!

Scabs & lumps on my industrial piercing?

I have had it pierced for over 5 months now. Each morning it's still very crusty. A month ago or so lumps appeared by each of the holes & now a scab has formed at the bottom. It cut whilst I was cleaning it,which happens occasionally, but the scab seems to be getting bigger?

How do you get rid of and heal keloids from piercings?

I got my nose pierced two years ago at this great place in Belleville, they were super nice and clean. About three months later, my nose got too infected and I removed the piercing altogether, and the bump went away.I repierced it in july and for for the first few months, I had no complications whatsoever, until a few months ago. I noticed the same bump form behind my piercing. At first I ignored it and it lowered a bit, but then it came back and was higher than my piercing. It was red and ready to pop, and I tried everything. Here’s what I learned:when they say use salt water LISTEN. It really does work. I found that the saline spray did nothing for me other than clean the blood around the wound the first few weeks, so I wouldn’t bother wasting an addition 10–15 bucks on it. This is what you can do: go to a Cvs and buy a sea salt grinder, prepare some hot water, or warm enough that you can handle it, and mix until water is white. Then, dunk your nose into the solution. I would use a compress as well to put pressure on the bump. If you use this for a week, your bump should be practically gone.Another nice addition would be to add some tea tree oil around as well, as this is a natural healer you can also get at the cvs. Here’s what you shouldn’t do;Dont try popping it. You’ll bleed a shit ton and it hurts a lot. If you happen to pop it, used the solution to clean it, and drain the rest of the bump. Take an aspirin, since this reduces the redness (and helps with the pain). Apply some tea tree oil as wellDONT REMOVE THE PIERCING, you’ll be starting from square one again. You worked so hard to get that piercing, take care of it and be patient.

How do I use tea tree oil on my industrial piercing ?

Most piercings need 6 months to fully heal but industrial goes through cartilage and it need a full year to do so.

It's not an easy piercing to heal and it has it's ups and downs while healing. Bumps can be formed around, it can stay swollen and irritated for long etc.

Most bumps that are formed while healing are just boils/cysts. You treat it with Tea Tree Oil if the boil gets infected.

If you see yellow or green fluids or pus coming out, if it's swollen irritated and it hurts you know it's a boil.
If not then it's hypertrophic scarring or a keloid. You can't take away those bumps, but only remove them surgically.

First step is to sea salt soak the piercing.
Warm water + non iodized salt mixed in a cup. Soak the piercing in for 5-10 minutes, 2 times a day.
Use a q-tip to clean around the piercing thoroughly, rinse with water and pat it dry with a paper towel.

If you see no difference in a week then you try Tea Tree Oil.
Do not get 100% Tea Tree Oil. Get diluted Tea tree oil instead and apply it on the piercing 2 times a day with a q-tip.

Again, if it's not a boil and it's a keloid or hypertrophic scarring then tea tree oil will no absolutely nothing to remove the bump but only make things worse.

If you are not sure about the bump, go back to your piercer to check it.

Gluck
