The smell could be the result of mold somewhere like the walls, floor or ceiling. A mustard like smell sounds like mold to me. Cleaning the floors and walls with bleach or something with citrus could hold the smell down, along with getting a dehumidifier and changing your furnace filter (they're supposed to be changed every month anyway... I know I don't change it that often either) :-). Also the smell could be coming from the pipes in the bathroom. The P trap could be drying out and allowing sewage gasses to come up from the drains. Running water down the drain will keep the P trap wet like it's supposed to be, and if the smell stops after you run water down the drain for a few minutes every few hours then you know that's the problem and you should call a plumber. Once urine has soaked into the padding and maybe floorboards it's hard to do. Almost impossible sometimesVinegar does not work. ok my best friend has three toddlers and i have one. Our toddlers are all at the age of taking thier diapers off and painting with them. Carpet cleaning and washing walls gets the stains out but what can help with the smell? Favreeze and products liek that havn't helped so far.
