How To Get Your Splits Quick

How to learn to do the splits quickly?

First of all, it does not take a year to do the splits and it has nothing to do with gender. Some people are more naturally flexible then others so it takes everyone a different amount of time to achieve their splits.
Without knowing how far you actually are in your splits, you may or may not be able to get there in only a month. And depending on which splits you are doing (side or straddle) different stretches will help.
Some general stretches would be sitting with your legs in front of you and reaching for your toes. Try to keep your back straight to get the most out of this stretch. Now spread your legs apart (in a straddle) and reach forward, again trying to keep your back as straight as possible.
For side splits: lunge forward, keeping your body straight, then lean forward and put your elbows on the floor (next to the inside of your foot). Next, still in a lunge but with your hands on either side of your foot, put your back knee on the floor and lift your foot up, grabbing it and pulling it as close to you as possible. Drop this foot and sit back on it, stretching your front leg and reaching for that foot. Lastly, go as far into your splits as possible and hold it.
Hold all of these stretches for at least 30 sec and repeat daily to get fastest results.
I know this is a REALLY long answer, but I just wanted to make sure you understood the stretches.
Best of luck with your musical! :)

How to get my splits quick?

Firstly, you won't get anywhere by being lazy. If you're not naturally flexible, if you don't stretch there's no way you'll ever get flexible. You're not patient? Well, you're going to have to be patient if you want to be able to do the splits. They come over time, not overnight.

Make sure you don't strain yourself, because that will only hold you back! You should have a stretching routine that you do every day (but remember it's okay to give yourself a day off stretching once a week or if your muscles are sore). Make sure you ALWAYS warm up with some cardio exercise! There are some good stretches on YouTube that you can try looking up :) Some good stretches are these:

The most important thing I'm trying to stress is to BE PATIENT. Splits do take a long time to get, but you can't expect to magically become flexible without hard work. So keep working at it and eventually you'll start to see results :)

How to quickly (yet realistically) get the splits?

Hi! So I have been dancing for 6 years now. Hip hop, Jazz and Tap are my styles.

I still can't get the splits. I haven't ever really tried but now that I am moving up difficulty level I want to increase my flexibility. I am natural flexible in the way were I can sit in weird positions but definitely not the splits! Any workouts, stretch routines or tips you could give me as well as how long it took to get your splits? I have been stretching every night for the past 2 months and I am pretty close but still 6 or so cm of the ground. I'm 5'7 if that helps in anyway. :)

Thanks!

How do I do the splits in one day?

ok well its gona be tough, but i think you could get a lot lower if you practice a lot. also when youve got lots of energy and adrenalin your muscles become more flexible, so if you have lots of energy at the moment then its a good time to practice. start of by warming up with lotes of lunges, but take it slowly, and to some other stretches like touching your toes (to stretch the back of your hamstrings) and after a few stretches and when you feel like youve stretched enough, warm your hole body up by jogging for a minute or somthing like that, i usualy jog for a couple of minutes and do a few handstands, then do some more lunges and which ever else stretches you do. and then when you feel really warm slowly slide into the splits and i mean really really slow, and keep doing this over and over again, you should get lower, you might not notice at first but eventualy you will, then start sitting in the splits for a few minutes, take a few breaks every know and then, but keep trying to improve how long you can sit in them, watch telly while sitting in the splits and keep track of how low you can get. maybe film yourself before all the stretching trying to get into the splits and then film yourself after a good warm up so you can see your improvment. i dont know how low you'll get, but if you really spend time doing this and keep doing it then it should help you get a lot lower :) hope ive helped. by the way if your not in the splits by morning dont give up! keep doing these excersises all week and i bet youll be in the splits by next week or nearly there :D x

What is the best way to learn how to do the splits?

Learn to embrace pain with the stoicism of a Buddhist monk. When I was learning mine in kinder-gym and pre-team, the coaches would force us to go down as far as we could and hold it for 5min. If anyone came out of their splits in any way (leaning over to one side/ rolling hips under/ ir anything else to mitigate pain) they’d add another 5min. Sometimes, if it looked like we were holding ourselves up by our arms, they'd come press our butts down or sit on us. Girls cried sometimes. It was just part of the exercise. After you get them down on the floor, coaches will take 2 panel mats and place them parallel to each other and then have you put your front calf and foot on one and your back calf and foot on the other and work to go down farther and farther. They'll gradually fold the panel mats up so they get higher and higher and you're going deeper and deeper into your splits. They’ll have you doing splits off of anything high off the ground til you can do basically a 300 degree angle. These are called hyper splits. There are some important keys to your form. If you neglect them, you may find yourself experiencing the feeling that “this is too easy to be right”. That feeling would be well-founded. The most important one, at all times is to keep your hips square. To understand what I mean, envision your two front hip bones as being headlights. When you do the pre-stretch (a deep lunge) be sure that the leg you have extended in front is directly between the imaginary beams of your headlights. They should always be going completely straight in front of you. Keep your chest up and parallel to whatever walls are around you, so lean back into your split. Be sure and keep your toes pointed which involves pointing with your ankle by extending it and not just with your toes (just pointing W/ your toes will result in your feet looking nastily scrunched up.)All of that aside, this only works if you are doing this consistently every day, and really you should be doing it twice a day. I'm 23 and can still fall into mine at any time even if I haven't tried to in a year. The flexibility is great for you and I chalk up the fact that I never had any serious injuries in gymnastics at least partially to the fact that I was so flexible and able to keep my muscles so relaxed that it didn’t affect me much even if I landed in a crazy position.Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

How to do the middle splits fast?

DON’T RUSH TO GET YOUR SPLITS.You could seriously injure yourself. The fastest way to get your splits is to gently stretch yourself for 15–30 min. twice a day. There are plenty of youtube videos with instructions to get middle splits follow those and be consistent.Don’t push yourself to hard or you will strain a muscle and not be able to stretch without pain for weeks, essentially starting over.Good Luck.

Is it possible to get the splits in 5-6 days?

Good luck.Just sit in the stretch you want for 30-minute sessions several times a day, and you might have a chance to.You also might lose feeling in your legs (exaggeration), but seriously, it is going to hurt. A lot.

How long should it take to get your splits? What stretches should I do?

Side splits or scissor splits?Side splits are virtually impossible after puberty if you have never had them before.Scissor splits- anyone and everyone can achieve. The important things to remember when increasing your flexibility are:Stretch every day.Stretch to the point of severe discomfort, but NOT pain.Stretch EVERY DAY.Keep your hips straight. Do them in front of a mirror. When you place your hands on your hips they should be at the same height and pointed forward.Splits have a number of components mainly hip flexor and hamstring flexibility. The best stretches target these two.The best stretch for splits is known as over splits. Even if you can’t get down very far pile some 5cm mats - 2 or 3 and place your front foot on that. Attempt the splits, let gravity do its thing. Keep this up til you are flat on the ground and you will have beautiful splits.
