id suggest contacting whoever is actually running the network and not just post on answers. im certainly the administrator of my own network but i doubt im the network admin you want to talk to.

To answer your question.... Look in the mirror and talk to yourself. Of all of the error messages that Windows puts up, that one "contact your network administrator" burns me the worst. I stare blankly at the computer screen and proclaim, "I AM THE NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR". In any case, something is wrong and it cannot connect. Here's what I suggest. 1) Open the Event Log Viewer (Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer OR Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer) 2) Go to the Application log (select Application on the left) In the right hand pane, the application log will be displayed. 3) You're looking for an Error or a Warning that has something to do with Skype. There may be a plethora of errors that show up for other things, but you can often ignore those (at least for now). If you cannot find one, close the event viewer, note the time, try to connect again, reopen the event viewer go to the application log and look at the errors that have occurred since the time noted. 4) If you find an error, copy the error and report back here, or do a google search for the error. OR Take the error message that you received, do a google search for the error message. You will probably find others talking about the same error and suggestions about what to do. OR Take the error message that you received and contact Skype support and let them walk you through what might be wrong.

Yes, they can ascertain what websites you have visited but not from your IPhone. If your company employs a Proxy Server/Firewall then whatever you do passes through that Proxy Server(unless the WiFi is a direct connection to a ISP) which can record, filter, monitor and/or trap data. Your IP and MAC addresses will be recorded in the Proxy Server but they will have no idea who it belongs to. Unless, of course, they employ hacking techniques to ascertain the ID of the IPhone. But a company usually will not bother unless you are sending up some serious flags to differentiate yourself from all the other WiFi users. You will know if a Proxy/Firewall is in use by looking at your IPhone Settings for that WiFi. If the WiFi does not pass through a Proxy, then you got it made.
