How To Make My Skateboard Last As Long As Possible

How long do skateboard parts last?

How long skateboard parts last is dependent on the type of skating you do and where you do it.

A street skater could go through several decks a day trying to land a big stairset; whereas a pool skater may have a deck for many years.

Wheels wear out faster when skating on rough surfaces. If yiu skate mostly at a skatepark or on smooth pavement, you could have a set of wheels for a year or two. I replace my wheels about every other month. The pool I skate is smooth, but the speed and amount of time spent skating makes for s a short lifespan.

Unless you do a lot of grinds, trucks should last for many years. Kingpins, kingpin nuts, bushings, pivot cup bushings and axle nuts are replaceable at low cost, and axles can be re-threaded.

Bearings if properly cared for usually last about a year. Swiss bearings can last much longer with proper care.

How long would a new skateboard deck last?

All depends on how you skate and the conditons you put it through.

New decks are more likely to snap when they are fresh as the wood has yet to develop micro fractures which helps absorb impact.

Skating in the rain is a very bad idea, as it'll soften the deck.

Over-tightening the truck bolts with create premature pressure cracks, weakening the area where the nose meets the tail.

And yes, accidentally landing in the wrong spot can put your feet straight through it.

A deck usually lasts me about 1-4 months, but it varies.

How can i make my skateboard last longer?

if your sponsored you should know that you can't really make boards last longer if you skate alot. i go thru one about every month or so like you but if you really want ot make them last longer the best advice is just be as careful as you cant o not land on the wrong parts of the board. but if you do that it will totally alter your skating style and it will only make your board last a little longer and if the board doesnt break the thing that will get you is the tail scraping away and youll have less pop. so just keep it how it is now having a board last a week or two weeks longer isnt worth altering the way you skate.

How long does your skateboard last you?

depends on how big u go i once had a board 4 only 3 days it was an element it sucked the tail snapped wen i tride doin a tailslide a sprained my arm but it was funny

How long does a good skateboard last?

Everyone has said it depends. They are right. A pro quality board kept out of the rain and wet, kept out of extreme heat and ridden by someone just starting out and learning how to ride. The board should last about a year. The trucks much longer and the wheels 2 years and bearing also much longer.
If the rider is doing large gaps and drop offs. loading docks etc. Your board might only last 5 minutes.
It depends. But a good deck should last approx. a year.

How to make my longboard [skateboard] go faster?

To Soledout, the person asked how to do it without changing parts so obviously changing bearings is out of the question.

The first thing you want to make sure is that your bearings are not too tight, so they don't rub against the bolts. The second thing you can do is lubricate your bearings. I found this on ebay guides:
Bearings lubricated with oil will spin faster in your hand whereas bearings lubricated with grease will spin slower in your hand because oil is thin and it has less resistance than grease. However, oil will not last as long as grease so oiled bearings will need to be lubricated more frequently than greased bearings. In general, both oil and grease lubricated bearings will spin fine once they are mounted to the wheels, but oil does require more maintenance and reoiling as it dries up faster. Grease lubricated bearings will last a little longer between maintenance.

And last of all, get a skateboard. they're more fun lol
