"Hey Doc, can I have a prescription for a pair of _________ Crutches?"It has always worked for me. The blank is for the type of crutches you need. As a paraplegic I need Forearm Crutches. Most people with sprains, broken legs, or hip problems use Ancillary Crutches (the ones with the pads in the arm pits that are easier to use for the short term…since forearm crutches put the stress on the wrists and forearms instead of the armpits).A pair of crutches, are usually under $200. My forearm crutches are about $150. Ancillary Crutches at a Walgreens can be as low as $25.So getting a prescription for a pair of crutches whenever you have a medical need is easy, just ask.If you don't have a medical need and just want a pair for some reason, you can buy a pair new on Amazon or used on eBay, just to name two places.Insurance replaces crutches for us paraplegics every two years, so I just ask my doctor for a new prescription every 2 years or when they need replaced if my crutches are still in good shape after two years.
Badly sprained ankle. how do i convince my mum to get crutches?
Well, a few days ago I sprained my ankle. It's actually been getting even worse. I've been to A&E and the doctors and they haven't given me crutches. They don't understand that its like 9/10 pain, when I walk! I've been off school and its now the weekend. But my mum will make me go to school on Monday, yet I can not walk at all!!! How can I convince my mum to get me some crutches and do I need them? Oh and I'm only 14 so its... 1. Embarrassing to ask for them and 2. I can't get them myself. Thanks.

My leg has been hurting and I couldn't handle it anymore so I asked my mom to look at it. She said I sprained my knee and ankle. My knee and ankle are nicely wrapped up but it hurts like crazy to walk. My friend told me to ask my parents for crutches since I had to hop all day today but every time I ask my parents say I'm crazy to want them. I can't walk at all anymore what should I do? My friend is going to school with a sling on her arm tomorrow cause she hurt it yesterday, I really want to get my crutches by tomorrow so we can be injured together!

i have a knee injury and i cant stand the pain when i put pressure on my knee, i already have a knee brace on and its helping in certain ways but not in the pressure way. my parents are the kind of people to go to the doctors before we do anything that involves my injury. i dont want to go to the doctors!!!

Alright. So first, please don't say I'm faking, because I'm not. And I don't want answers like "just ask them" because they are stubborn, and I have tried. But anyway, today I was cleaning up my room, and I had to dust the light on my ceiling. I was standing on a stool and as I was getting down I rolled me ankle. It wasn't that bad, until I stood up. When I put weight on it, and even now twelve hours after I rolled it, it shoots a sharp pain up my leg and into my foot. It also feels like l broke it rather that rolled it, but if I broke it, it would stick out on the side. I really just want to keep off it for a few days. This is my last week of school until winter break so maybe this week. I am not using I to show off ok, I really am hurt and I know it's not cool to pretend. But do you have any suggestions? Like I said my parents are stubborn and won't let me just get them. Help?!
How to convince a doctor to give you crutches?
So I have a shin splint and it hurts really bad even when I'm sitting or laying especially when I walk I feal like I'm going to fall.....my parents don't think that I need to go to the hospital.....but I need to convince my mom to take me to the doctor and then convince the doctor to give some kind of crutches so that it will heal faster so that I can run again.....any suggustions
