How To Redye My Hair With Splat

Can you bleach your hair over Splat hair dye?

I dyed my hair purple recently, and I want to bleach over the purple color in order to dye it a different shade. Should I redye the section my natural color and bleach a new one or am I able to bleach over the Splat hair color?

Splat Hair Dye , Re-Bleach It?

Well, never do two bleachings in a day- it'll really hurt your hair.

Is your hair frizzy, cotton candy like? If so, wait at least a month before rebleaching.
If your hair is shiny and healthy, you can consider a second bleaching. However, it will put your hair in a worse condition- it's a trade off.

One thing you should definitely NOT do is bleach both the dark and and already red parts together. When you redye the red, the darker parts will be a darker red than the lighter, which could look weird. Try to only bleach the darkened parts, to the same level of lightness as your current red.

As a side note, I would not recommend using splats. They are fairly damaging to your hair, and do not last as long as some other brands, plus they have a very limited selection of shades.
Some other brands I'd look into-
-Manic Panic, these are made from vegetables and are actually good for your hair. There's a large selection of colors as well. The main downside is that they do not last long, only a few weeks. There is an amplified formula that lasts longer however. You can find them at a Sally's Beauty or Hot Topic store, or if you want order the online from sallybeauty.com. Their full selection is here: http://www.manicpanic.com/classiccreamformula.html
-Directions, again, they do not hurt your hair. These are the BEST dyes, they are very vibrant and last for almost 2 months. The main issue is that they are from the UK, so you'd have to order online and import from there. amazon.co.uk is a good place to look. http://www.lariche.co.uk/directions-hair-colour/
-Special Effects- once again, great for your hair. These are sold in the US, but I don't know of any stores that sell them- it's best to order from a place like amazon. http://www.specialeffectsusa.com/hair_dye.html

All 3 of those sell bleach kits, I find it convenient to pick up manic panics from hot topic, all bleach is pretty much the same. You could alternatively buy packets of Ion bleach and 40 vol Ion Developer at sally beauty.

Message me if you need anymore help, I love helping people dye their hair :-)

SPLAT! How Long Should I Wait To Re-Dye?

If it's anything like Raw) or manic panic, it's just demi-permanent or semi-permanent and it's not harsh. I've never had a problem dying my hair too often with those (bc they fade soooo fast!) but if it's something like regular permenant dyes then obviously it'll be too harsh to repeat too often!!
I fried my hair using white out but that's the only problem I've had! :)

How soon can I dye my hair after using splat hair dye?

EDIT: You absolutely and categorically DO NOT need to be anonymous. This question is not invasive in any way, shape or form, and nor is it seeking sensitive or personal information. Can you explain what exactly you’re trying to do? What colours are you going to start off with, and what colours are you planning on doing afterwards?

Is it safe to dye my hair again with Splat Hair Color?

I dyed a bit of my hair on Saturday, and then again on Sunday to make it more vibrant. Unfortunately, I stayed in the hot shower too long last night, and I want to dye it again. I intend to use cold water on my hair and not wash it as often once I redye, but how long do I have to wait before I can dye it again? I haven't used bleach, so it's not as damaged, and before last week, I hadn't dyed it since over the summer. I can't find anything on the box, directions, or website about how often you can use Splat dye. It's Pink Fetish, and it's about 6 months old (the website says it will keep for a year).
Does anybody have any experience? Thank you!

What will happen if I redye over the faded color? Splat Hair Dye?

I bleached my hair over a very long and grueling 3 months. I finally got the top a white blonde and the bottom a light blonde. I used Splat: Pink Fetish and it all came out one beautiful shade of pink. After two days, without washing, the pink that was on the light blonde hair turned red. If I were to use Splat over the red, would it go back to pink? Or am I going to have to bleach the bottom again? :/

What is a reliable way to remove splat hair dye from your hair?

Splat hair dye isn’t simple to remove. Splat doesn’t just dye your hair, it stains it.I’m a student cosmetologist who has run into splat multiple times. In my experience, it has never been fully removable.I had purple splat on my hair before, and it wouldn’t come out. We tried lightening (bleaching), stripping the color, and covering it with a dark brown. The purple would not come out, which is why we had to cover it. And even after covering it, you could still see the purple tint! It was horrible.I would seriously suggest you see a professional stylist rather than trying anything at home. If you lighten your hair at home, you could do irreversible damage. Your stylist, after a consultation, can set you on the right path to fixing your hair.

Is splat hair color safe on dogs?

i was wanting to dye my chihuahua using splat hair dye..it says on their website it was 'safe' but i was wondering like..how long to leave it on and stuff. i know not to get it in his eyes or mouth but i was just wondering..so thanks :]

Should I wait a week to re-dye my hair?

I would recommend you wait longer than a week, especially if you are trying to lighten and dye your hair. For the most part any dye that you use whether it is “natural hair dye” or “professional hair dye” or any other cool trendy way of saying better hair dye will cause damage to your hair. It has to in order to have the hair color change. So when you lighten or dye the hair you cause the cuticle of the hair to open so the dye can get in the hair shaft. When you wash the color out the water helps neutralize the process and close down the hair shaft to hold the color in the hair.Unfortunately the process and chemicals used to open and close the cuticle damage the cuticle and the more you dye your hair the more open the cuticle can stay after the process.People with damaged hair from color will have the hair color bleed out of their hair after every shower because the hair is so damaged and open it cannot hold any color. So if you have bleached or dyed your hair today, its better to wait a while before re coloring or re bleaching. If the color did not come out correct, you can use color correcting semi permanent dyes (these coat the hair instead of going in the shaft). Or you can use toners or color shampoos to help correct color outcome.IF you need to dye it again right away, use a repairing conditioner like:Instant Volume Daily Conditioner for Hair Growthand leave it in your hair for 5 - 15 minutes before rinsing it out. This will help nourish the hair so that it can hold color. It will also help to repair damaged hair and make it stronger so you experience less breakage. You can do this a few times before applying another color process. And you can do it right before the process as well.
