How To Safely Cover Wrist Tattoo Without Damaging It

Can a wrist tattoo cause nerve damage?

NO if your artist knows what they are doing, tattoos only affect the top layers of the skin. They don't affect the veins or nerves. If it was a big tattoo then you could have some pain for a few days after being tattooed. If you work with your hands and if you're on a computer a lot it could be carpal tunnel syndrome. Any one at any age can get it. Get some thing to support your wrists while you use the computer. Your tattoo should heal just fine if you take care of it properly.

Covering up new wrist tattoo before bed?

I just got my wrist tattooed today and I was wondering if I should put a bandaid over it before bed? It's pretty small and the tattoo artist didn't give me much instruction on what to do. He just said that it's small enough where I won't have to worry much about it...
I'm just worried about scratching it while I sleep...?

Will getting a tattoo on my wrist damage my veins?

I'm not sure how getting tattoos work (yes, I know it sounds stupid) but, I want to get a tattoo of four letters on my wrist and I just want to make sure that getting it won't damage my veins because that wouldn't be good. Lulz!
Thanks for any help!

What to use to cover my wrist tattoos for work?

i got the tops of both my wrists tattooed 16 days ago today (1*25*09). They've already peeled and what not, and they're very close to completely healed. i work as a substitute cafeteria worker (aka lunch lady.. yeah i h8 this job but it pays the bills.. *sigh*) and i keep my tats coverd up with wristbands. No1 has minded and i take the wrist bands off immediately after work and on breaks. But the problem is i usually just end up washing dishes, so now matter how careful i am, my wristbands are always soaked by the end of the day! It's not hurting my tattoos, but it's extremely annoying. Is there anything cheap i can buy at Fry's to use to cover them up? Or even something in my house? i refuse to use makeup or anything like that because my tattoos are still in the healing process, plus concealer is a bit pricy. Cloth isn't working out, and i doubt band-aids will stay on thru getting wet. i'm going back tomorrow so ur ideas asap would be nice =]

*NOTE: Don't tell me "Tattoos aren't professional/You should have gotten them somewhere else/You should not have gotten a tattoo at all" etc. The point is i got them cuz i wanted them, & they're on my wrists 4ever now so sh*t like this won't make any difference.

Should i cover my tattoo in the rain?

ok so i just got my 3rd tattoo saturday feb.20th, 2010 and its my first colored one and its on my inner forearm and its raining out today..when i got my other too it was over the summer so it wasn't raining at all so i just need to know if i should cover it or not PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!

How hard is it to hide a wrist tattoo?

I have a sleeve on my left arm that goes all the way down to the hand. When I wear long sleeves to cover the tattoo, part of it still peeks out. I cover it with a watch or a chunky bracelet and it works just fine. You could also use concealer to hide the tattoo. I will agree that the wrist sees alot of sun, which can damage and fade tattoos, but mine are 6 years old and look as crisp as the day I got them. I do put sunscreen on them in the summer, and wear long sleeves and a chunky bracelet in the fall and winter, so I do keep mine well protected from the sun. And the thing about word tattoos is you have to make the letters big enough so it doesn't turn into a blob of ink in a few years. At least 1/2 inch tall. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck and happy inking!

How to hide a new wrist tattoo?

Okay, so first off I am 18, and I don't have the option of changing any of the upcoming dates involved. On Saturday, I am getting two tattoos. One behind my ear, which I can just hide with my hair, and one on my wrist. On Tuesday, I am moving out of my house, and into my dorm for college. My parents know that I am getting these tattoos at some point, but they are very much against it, and keep trying to talk me out of it. Obviously they will see my tattoos at some point, but it would make my life waaayyy easier if I could hide the tattoo on my wrist from Saturday through Tuesday. The good news is that I work a lot, and will hardly be home during this time. I will however, be spending the entire day with my parents on Tuesday. There has been a lot of talk about my tattoos lately because I wanted to get their permission out of respect, but that isn't going to happen. Because we have been talking about it quite a bit recently, I'm pretty sure if I put a band-aid on it, they will know what's under it instantly.

So I need some way to cover it up. It's been in the hundreds during the day lately so long sleeves is not an option either. I'm thinking foundation? But I don't know how bad this would be for my new tattoo, obviously I want it to heal properly.

I just need to hide this tattoo for four days, but it is during the first four days of having this tattoo. How can I hide it without hindering the healing process?
