How to speed up my Windows XP PC?
Use ccleaner's tools to trim your start-up programs. Navigate to tools/start-up and check each tab for what is set to start automatically. 768MB? Is that your board's maximum RAM? Installing 2 x 512MB will speed up your computer a little bit. Due to 7's or Vista's RAM requirements those "solutions" would cause even worse issues. You can then navigate to start/control panel/admin tools/ services. This will take a lot longer. You can stop dozens of those services. You can disable many and set others to manual. This is the area where a lot of fat can be trimmed off off an XP computer but also has your critical services which can NOT be stopped, disabled or set to manual. Research is key. Max out your RAM. Stop automatic Windows operations. Next up is your task manager after services. Google update servie or Yahoo Au service and ummm impwndwsrvs or something are useless auto updaters which we can do manually. You can turn off cftmon and a few other tasks as well along with the appropriate research. Between your Ccleaner acting as your msconfig command and then trimming the fat from your current tasks can help. Your computer is just archaic and is a limit to how much you can help. Whatver you do you will still be under XP's min. requirements to allow it to run right. Your CPU is fine for XP and singular programs. Your gfx card can be updating to the 6670 and that will most certainly help with light gaming. Have you run your disk cleanup through windows? Programs like Ccleaner/Sweepi do clean up but Windows maintenance programs should also be ran regularly.

pc details 20gb HDD 128 MB RAM Intel Celeron Processor its just so slow now. dont know how you can sell a computer with 128mb RAM? anways to speed it up? advice much appreciated
