How To Stop Sweating So Much On My Underarms

How do I stop sweating so much under my arms?

About two years ago I have started sweating more than normal under my arms. It is so embarrassing because I get big wet pit stains when I wear any color other than black or white. I have tried Secret clinical strength deodorant, but it does work or even help a little bit. I shave and wash and wear deodorant on my underarms everyday. Is there anything that I can use to stop sweating so bad? Or is it because I am still young? I am only 13.
Thank You,
Kaela

How do I get my underarms to stop sweating so much?

Here's some stuff I use/do to stay dry and stop sweating:

1. Drysol is aluminum chloride hexahydrate and when put to use in the underarms acts to block the sweat glands and plug the pores. It is a prescription medication and should only be used with a doctor's guidance.

2. Try wearing a ordinary, white, 100% cotton t-shirt underneath your normal shirts. This will be your first line of defense against sweat puddles forming on your outer shirt. Also, the white t-shirts are easy to bleach/oxy-clean the stains away.

3. Recall that if it happens to be your feet that are sweating excessively, try taking an extra pair of shoes and socks with you in the morning. Change both about halfway through your day. While it won't get rid of the sweating it will keep your feet dry.

4. Make sure you shower regularly. This will help to minimize the impacts of over-sweating. By showering as necessary you can eliminate as much of the bacteria that causes body odor. If you do sweat while you're clean you won't smell as much as sweating when you're dirty.

a. Try anti-bacterial soaps to kill additional bacteria while you shower.

5. Drink plenty of water. It both dilutes the concentration of your bodily effluents and it cleanses the majority of the system.

6. Check the weather forecast each day and put on clothing appropriately.

7.Invest in a small fan to keep in your working area. You may sweat less because it is cooler and the air circulation will help perspiration to evaporate quicker.

8. Watch your weight. Heavier people have a difficult time cooling themselves and may perspire more. Try getting to a healthy weight and your perspiration issues may solve themselves.

How can I stop sweating so much?

Some people naturally sweat more than others. Anyone with a tendency to sweat will notice it more living somewhere as hot as you live.

I will come to your hands last as they are the biggest problem

With regard to your underarms, wear cool, loose clothing (white colored may feel cooler, avoid black) and ask your pharmacist or doctor for a more powerful antiperspirant.

With regard to your feet, wear open shoes such as sandals as much as possible. When you need to wear closed shoes choose natural materials as these generally breathe better. Always wear breathable socks with your closed shoes. Take them off as soon as you can.
Walking barefoot is recommended to relieve the sweating on your feet. If you are comfortable walking barefoot then this may help. Some people sweat so much that they even sweat loads in bare feet and find this embarrassing. This can be a sign of a condition called hiperhidrosis.

This brings me to your hands. There are a range of treatments for hiperhidrosis and it may be best ot talk to your family doctor about the sweating in your hands. Whilst you may not be diagnosed with the condition you may find one of the first line treatments useful to ease your embarrassment about shaking hands.

Hope this helps.

Why do i sweat in my underarms so much?(even in the winter)?

I have the same problem. I use something called certain-dri. I get it at the local drug store. You put it on at night before you go to bed (it stings a little) then in the morning you put on your regular deodorant/anti-perspirant(make sure it is an anti-perspirant). You have to use the certain-dri everynight. If this doesn't help a doctor can prescribe a prescription deodorant called drysol or other brands. Also, if your parents would let you or if you are old enough you can get botox injections in your armpits to stop the sweating. I'm too much of a chicken to do that, but many people have.

How much does Botox (to reduce underarm sweating) cost?

I work for a plastic surgeon and the only time we do this is when they are ref by another doctor because it takes at least 1 vile of botox if not more. So you're looking at atleast $1400 if you're paying out of your pocket.

My underarms sweat a lot leaving yellowish stains that discolour my clothes. How do I remedy this?

The problem is not the sweat. Believe me.sweat doesn't cause the yellow stains because it is a colourless liquid so it cannot even stain a light colour cloth. The sweat on your clothes might be a result of chemical reaction that takes place because of the use of deodorants or antiperspirants. The truth is that the antiperspirants only block the sweat pores. They don’t stop the production of sweat but stop the sweat from being expelled from the body as it should be. This only lasts for a certain period of time.Sweat builds up in the sweat glands in the armpits in the mean time. A large amount of sweat however can push through the pores and be expelled right onto the clothing. A chemical reaction then occurs between the deodorant or antiperspirant and the sweat. The urea in the sweat reacts with the acidic and aluminum components of the deodorant or antiperspirant and result in the yellow discoloration that shows up on light colored clothing.unfortunately, this yellow staining is not easy to remove. But hey, we can do something :)  Since you can’t stop your body from sweating, you must look for another solution. It is actually quite simple. You need to stop using antiperspirants and other commercial deodorants that are aluminum based. This doesn’t mean that you have to give up using deodorant all together. First off, you need to understand that sweating is a natural process that allows your body to get rid of toxins. Your body needs to sweat. You should therefore stop trying to stop this natural process.Secondly, you should understand the sweat on its own does not result in bad body odor or yellow staining.Thirdly, invest in an organic deodorant. These deodorants are based on natural products that will work to kill bacteria in the armpit therefore preventing the development of bad odors. The deodorants allow you to sweat and are not acidic or don’t contain aluminum. There is therefore no chemical reaction that could cause the development of yellow stains.I hope this helps :) Credits :- rumaorganics.com
