How To Wash A Real Technique Brush

Real Techniques Brushes?

You should wait until their buy one get one half off on those brushes. They are awesome. I only got into makeup two years ago (I'm 21 now) and they are really good brushes. The core collection is nice but I only mostly use the buffing brush. I have no use for the detailer brush except for my lips which I prefer using straight out the tube or with my finger. I dnt contour much so I dnt use the more domed brush. The flat foundation brush is good but not great. I recommend the core collection only foe the buffing brush. I highly recommend the travel essentials kit cz the eye brush is great for packing shadow, getting into the crease and blending beautifully. The mulittask brush is great for all powder face products. You can set ur makeup, then apply bronzer(although I almost never do then blush

Real techniques or ecotools makeup brushes?

Which ones do you think are better? im a beginner at makeup and can't decide which kit to get. Also which one has better eye makeup brushes? And is one more durable than the other?

Are real techniques brushes worth the price?

In my honest opinion, yes. I love their brushes. They last long and do the job. You can buy them at Wal-Mart for pretty cheap. I've used a ton of makeup brushes over the years, and although these don't quite match up to the quality of sigma brushes, they're amazing. On top of that, they're a fraction of the price. I really would recommend them.

Are Ecotools brushes good quality ?

I am looking for some good quality makeup brushes, I own 12 Sigma brushes because i bought a set about 8 months ago, but i am looking to get more brushes because i am constantly cleaning mine so i can use it with other colors! So i am looking to buy new ones that are a little cheaper! I have been looking into ecotools and are wondering if they are good quality, they dont need to be as good as my sigma brushes as long as they do what they are ment too and will last me a good time!

Real techniques makeup brushes smell of glue?

I washed them the other day (expert face&powder) and they smelt of glue, like pva/crafts glue. After I used them this faded, but it was really overpowering while i applied my makeup.

I washed them again, thoroughly, using estee lauder makeup brush cleaner and lots of cold water and, again, they smell of glue.

I am scared the glue has melted, though i don't see how as i used cold water and no hairdryer.

Should I buy Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge OR the expert face brush?

It depends on if you are a sponge or brush person. I tried the brush from their line and I used it for 2 years. I always felt like my makeup never blended right, and thought something was wrong with my skin. It looked streaky and didn't melt into the skin like a foundation should, and at the time I was using a very high-end foundation. I put out a question here and people said to try a sponge. I went back and bought the miracle complexion sponge and now I love that thing to death! It gives me a very natural airbrushed look, and it presses moisture into the skin (the water if it is damp) with your foundation for a very healthy glow. Let's just say the brush is now sitting in the trash... :)

My opinion, try one, then if you aren't satisfied, try the other. Hey, they're cheap!

How Often Should You Clean Your Makeup Brushes?

I worked at Sephora for many years and this is the method we used to wash our brushes.
1)Turn on the tap and dampen the brush. You MUST hold the brush with the hairs pointing downwards the entire time you are washing them. DO NOT put water directly over the brush hairs. This ruins the brush.
2)Put some gentle shampoo (baby shampoo, or whatever you have) in the palm of your hand and swirl the brush in it until you think it is clean.
3)Rinse the brush THOROUGHLY under the water, swirling it in your palm. Remember to keep the top of the brush facing downwards at all times. It doesn't have to be completely upside down, you just want to be sure water does not get into the ferrule.
4)Leave to dry overnight.

This is called a deep clean and it should be done once a month. For daily or weekly cleaning, you can use your brush cleaner from sally's. Put some onto a clean tissue and swirl your brushes into it. There is no need to rinse.
