How To Wire 2 12 Inch Subs To 1000 Watt Amp At 4 Ohms

How do I wire a pair of 4-ohm subs to a mono amp if the subs are single voice coil?

If the amp is rated stable to 2 ohms, you can safely put the speakers in parallel. If not, run the speakers in series. I had someone do the parallel approach to a dual coil sub despite my advice. He tried to return the sub after doing exactly what I told him not to do.In addition, running the amp full out with lots of bass, could destroy the amp, the speakers or both. Always follow the instructions that came with the speakers. Some speakers require a box, sealed or ported, to operate properly.Good luck.

How to wire 2 DVC 4 Ohm subs to a 2 Ohm mono amp?

i have two kicker solo-baric L7 15" subs (08S15L7) they are 4ohm per voice coil and i want to wire then both to a single kicker 2500 watt amp (08ZX2500.1) it puts out 1250 watts at 4 ohms and 2500 watts at 2 ohms, i need to know how to wire it all up so i can run it at 2 ohms for maximum power.

(2) Kicker L7 15" 1000 watts RMS 2000 watts Peak
(1) Kicker ZX2500 @ 2 ohms for peak power of 2500 watts

Thank you in advance

Can my 1000 watt amp run 2 12 inch subs?

im guessing your amp is 1000 watt MAX power.

yes it will work, just bridge it if your amp isnt internally bridged

HOW TO:

take both positve wires from both subs and connect them to the positive terminal on the amp (usually theres a label on which on to put them on)
then do the same with the negatives

tada

How do I wire 2- 500 watt subwoofers to a 1500 amp monoblock amp?

depends on the impedance specs of the subwoofers and on the stated load range of the amplifier. You can use a larger amplifier than your subs are rated for, watts-wise. Just don't operate them in obvious distortion or clipping, in that case you could destroy your subs.Basically you have the choice of wiring the subs in parallel or series. The subs should have a impedance rating, in ohms. when in parallel the load to the amp will be half the single subwoofer impedance.  In series, the amp will see a load twice the single subwoofer impdeance.for example the subwoofers are rated 8 ohms. Parallel they will be 4 ohms, in series they will be 16 ohms. Now look at  your amp specs, it will give a range of acceptable load impedance. usually this would 4 ohms, minimum.  In that case either 4 or 16 ohms is OK. If it says 8 ohms, minimum, then you must use the 16 ohm combination.if it will drive the parallel combination that is the best as it will give a greater loudness.

How to wire Alpine swr1243d 12" subs and Apline MRX-M100 amp to 1 ohm?

KZ - look in the manual. There is a 1 ohm rating. It's 500w rms.

Bigspedos - there is no reason to run the amp at 1 ohm. It's power is reduced, the stress on the amp is unnecessarily increased, and it's efficiency is reduced.

It would make a lot more sense to wire to 4 ohms. Power from the amp is higher than one, efficiency is higher - basically everything about running at 4 is better than 1.

How should i wire my P1000-1bd rockford fosgate amp to 2 12 inch P3SD412 Rockford Fosgate subs?

Subs: Dual 4 Ohm
400w RMS/ 800w max

Amp: 4 ohms: 250 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 500 watts x 1 chan.
1 ohm: 1000 watts x 1 chan.
Any help is nice! i know this amp kicks a** and might overpower the subs but as long as i keep the gain down a little i should be fine right?
just wondering how i need to wire?
Pictures would be great!
Any recomendations would be nice too!
Thanks

How should I wire a dual 4 ohm Rockford Fosgate p3 12 inch to a 2 ohm Stable Planet Audio 1000w mono block amp?

Did you read the specs from their page?Nominal Impedance (ea):  "1-Ohm - Internally wired to create a 1-Ohm amplifier load"A 2 Ohm stable is not the same as a 1 Ohm stable amp. Remember, 0 Ohms is a short circuit. And, there is a variation, up and down, the value given by the manufacturer when the loudspeakers are in motion (while playing, the woofers will go over the 1 Ohm and below it). Will it work? For a while, maybe it will. Will it last? Not so sure about that. Will it damage the amp or make it go into protection mode? That is almost a certainty. But, I do not know the amp and there is not much info on its specs. Good luck with that :)

What is the watt output to my sub when my amp is running at 2200w at 1 ohm, but my sub is wired at 2 ohm? Will it be half, equaling 1100w? My sub is a DVC at 4 ohms. (Going from dual sub setup to a single setup). I hope this makes sense.

Your amp can deliver 2200W Peak power @ 1 Ohm. And you have connected a 4 Ohm two coil subwoofer in parallel to it ?If so, your amp should provide about 1100W peak roughly 500W RMS at full power and, your sub should be able to handle that amount of power. This does not mean that your amp is always providing the 500W unless, you have some hearing dysfunction and you somehow feel you always need to listen to your music at full power. Your amp is able to go from roughly 0W to 500W.The Koenigsegg Agera R comes with a 5-Liter Turbocharged V8 DOHC engine with a compression ratio of 9.0:1 and is capable of generating an impressive 1200 pound-feet of torque and 1140 Hp, enabling the vehicle to go to 60 mph within less than 2.5 seconds and reach 273 mph. This does not mean you have to always drive it at 439,3 Km/h.In fact, most of the time, people who own one, should be driving it within speed regulations. Does it really matter if the car can reach such high speeds? With audio all these numbers are not very important as long as you have a well designed sound system. You do not need a lot of sound pressure to enjoy music. On the contrary. If the pressure is too high, you are really not enjoying your music. You are just trying to impress others. That is a pointless goal. For me, not even a 22” diameter, 23” long, 6000 watts RMS, 18,000 watts peak MTX Jackhammer Sub is very impressive.I actually think it is quite stupid. So is a 15000 W RMS car amp such as the Fosgate.Technologically these products are actually cool and yes I am also considering the Apple speaker. AndI am not trying to judge you or insult you in any way. I am just trying to explain that the important thing in a car audio system is not how much power it can deliver. The important thing is how well it can present your music. Things like stage, accuracy, depth, speed or, overall performance, are what I look for in car audio. Not noise. Noise is very easy to achieve. Accuracy, on the other hand, is not that easy.Sorry if I digressed. I am not well today. Ask me again in a few days and I will give you a simpler answer.

How can I wire 2 single voice coil 8 ohm subs down to a 2 ohm load?

As Tom Dagostino says, your options are series, 16 ohms and parallel 4 ohms. These are your ONLY options regarding impedance if you need to run the two speakers from the same amp.It is safe to run the amp into a higher than recommended load but you run a strong risk of damaging it if you run it at high volume into a lower load.Parallel connected speakers should all be connected + to +. Series connected speakers should be daisy chained + to - .You will get very strange aural experiences if you break this rule.To get to 2 ohms you would need one more 4 ohm speaker or two more 8 ohm speakers. I can’t think of any good reason why you would want to do this even if you have an amp that is specified for operation into 2 ohms. You will not notice any difference in the maximum loudness.
