How Would You Deal With The Riots And Looting In Ferguson Missouri

What do you think about the riots in ferguson?

I for one am tired of hearing about it and I think it was an atrocity that they would burn the American flag. I mean, I'm Also upset about the way Brown's murder was handled but I think that the protesters and riots are a little much.

What's your opinion?

Michael Brown Ferguson shooting.?

Why was Michael Brown or whatever his god damn name was shot 6-8 times? Obviously every American thinks they were there and saw. Maybe unloading s whole magazine wasn't the best idea but why was he shot and who is right here ? Is it America or the Law? I think America is losing common since. Its scary.

Why are people looting in Ferguson?

Many of these looters are from out side states and counties. They take advantage of the protests to loot from places the police cannot protect. According to many peaceful protesters very few are from Ferguson; many are from outside.  There is no excuse for this type of behavior.

Is the rioting and unrest occurring in Ferguson, MO, due to a perception on the part of the rioters that the state's attorney or the Missouri courts will most likely let the police officer who shot the guy off the hook?

It seems to me that the rioters are a minority of people who convinced themselves months ago that this is an issue of white police brutality against young black boys and have come to the conclusion that anything but an indictment from the grand jury is unacceptable. The confirmation theory seems to be at work here. These rioters aren't really focused on Darren Wilson or Michael Brown as people, but as symbols. Officer Wilson represents all the police brutality and the many other black men killed by white police officers in the past. To them, Brown is an innocent victim and Wilson is a brutal murderer. Throwing the racism factor into the equation makes it difficult for them to see past what they believe to what is really going on. The evidence matches Wilson's testimony, and other testimonies have discredited the statement made by Brown's friend. Therefore, it isn't really about Wilson and Brown. It is about racism, which started with slavery before the civil war, and has continued ever since. There are too many stigmas and deeply held beliefs at play here. Emotion has gotten in the way of evidence.P.S. To answer your question, yes. That is what this is about.

Are the police in Ferguson handling the riots badly?

There is no way the Ferguson police are going to win this public relations war.The court of public opinion has convicted them of murder.  Every night these photo ops continue, the police look awful. The exception of course is Fox news coverage, which demonizes anyone who exercises their Constitutional right to public protest or to challenge authority. The rest of the civilized world will see YouTubes and Twitter videos and demonstrator selfies pitting good against evil, nonviolence against violence, protesters against police, war against peace.   It is hard to look like the good guy when you're wearing boots and a gas mask.

Is the news media responsible for inciting the riots in Ferguson ?

The media, while they encouraged the riots and looting, were not directly responsible. Sharpton and other race-baiters found a willing audience for their hate speech. Direct responsibility for the riots lies with the "planet of the apes" type residents of Ferguson, and other racists. This group needs little reason to take or break the property of others.

How do African Americans outside of Ferguson, MO feel about the post-grand jury protests?

The looting and riots going on in Ferguson post-grand-jury decision are disgusting and uncivil. At this point in all honesty, it's not the black community that is suffering, but the local business owners. I understand the anger of the black community behind the decision, but the riots and unwarranted looting of local businesses is a taint in the memory of Michael Brown. The same store Michael Brown robbed before his death has been ravaged again by uncivil, uneducated, and opportunistic "protestors". Here the store owner stands in the middle of all the choas: It shocks and disgusts me to see the media support these protestors, and not present the true colors of the protest. These kinds of actions is what gives the black community in the US a bad name. The protestors are destroying their own community to avenge the grand jury decision. This scene from American History X has never been more relevant: The media has portrayed Michael Brown as an innocent teenager, hiding the fact that he robbed a store before his death, threatening the undersized store owner with force. Or the fact that he was big enough to be a NFL linebacker. And also ignoring officer Wilson's perspective and his argument behind the shooting. This whole incident has been a race-bait lit on fire by the media. I post-face this answer by saying I'm not African American.

Did the looted Ferguson store owners take adequate precautions? And who leaves their car parked curbside when a riot is anticipated?

The local store owners did what they could do with what they had.  The larger operations and the chains just kind of threw it all to the wind and relied on insurance.  The people who leave their cars on the street when something like that happens tend to fall into categories.  One is the people who were there for a peaceful protest and who were taken off guard by the whole thing.  Others are people who live there, people who were there to loot, and people with junkers and insurance.
