After updating to Windows 10 I am not able to adjust brightness, how do I fix it?

I faced a similar issue on upgrading my HP laptop to Windows 10. After the update was installed, I was unable to change the brightness using the keyboard hotkeys. Not only that, the brightness slider in Windows Mobility Center was also not working. I tried updating the graphics drivers, but that didn't help. The problem was solved by changing this:Generic PnP Monitor had somehow got disabled and was causing the issue. Here are the steps to fix it:Click on Start and search for Device Manager. Open itIn the list of devices, locate Monitors and double click on itRight click on it and click on EnableThat's it. Once I did this, I was able to change the brightness both using keys and from Mobility center.
