I-512l Authorization For Parole Of An Alien Into The United States.

I-512l authorization for parole of an alien into the united states?

This is a travel document (advance parole) to be used while the application for a green card is pending (I-485). Not every alien waiting for his green card should use this document to travel abroad. It's safe to use it only if had always maintained his status (never been illegal in the USA).

Work permit is usually approved around the time when the advance parole is approved.

My husband just recieved his Work Authorization Card, now what?

The EAD, the Employment Authorization Document, is a federally issued photo ID. It will enable your husband to apply for a SSN and card at the closest SSA office via SS-5 form. For that he will also have to show his passport as a secondary photo ID.

Once that's done, he can start working and he can also apply for a Texas Driver's License.

Understand that the SSA and the DMV employs a lot of idiots who don't know their job. Be prepared to hear a wrong answer, just because they don't know any better. Go to the Texas DMV's Web site and read the documents accepted to apply for a Driver's License. The EAD is among them.

When renting an apartment, the landlord or manager usually only wants to see some form of photo ID. That can be the EAD card or his passport. Some landlords are easy going, some are a pain in the b*tt. Ultimately, every landlord can choose whom to rent out, as long as he does not discriminate. That, however, is hard to prove. If a manager doesn't like your husband's haircut, he won't rent out to him or give him a job, but it's unlikely that he would use this as the "official" reason.

Do undocumented immigrants pay taxes?

Contrary to other answers here, on average fewer illegals pay taxes than U.S. Citizens. There is no accurate count of the number of illegals here in the States. 10 years ago we heard ESTIMATES of 11 million. The highest estimate that I’ve seen lately is 11.3 million. Should we assume that illegals are not giving birth? Should we assume that those who cross daily into the U.S. go back each night? Many illegals do work at W-2 jobs where they use fake or fraudulent Social Security numbers to receive pay. However, most of those who are caught doing so also claim massive deductions and exemptions when they submit W-4 paperwork. Little or no taxes are withheld. We can only assume that those who haven’t yet been caught do the same. Many illegals are simply receiving income “under the table”.Most illegals apparently do not own homes and thus pay no property taxes. If we believe the few income demographics that are available, illegals have less spendable income than U.S. Citizens. Thus, a high percentage of what income they have is spent on items and services exempt from sales taxes (food, Rx, rent, etc). Many illegals who do file income tax data claim to be providing support for “dependents back home” . The IRS requires little or no proof that such “dependents” even exist. Thus, they can (and do) pay less income tax. As a (now former) VITA Volunteer I saw this first hand. Therefore, I suggest that while many illegals MAY be paying taxes, it is highly unlikely that most illegals are doing so. The underlying issue is that no one really knows how much or how little is being paid.

I applied for a green card and got my work permit. Can I travel outside the U.S.?

Your EAD card should be endorsed with either: "Serves as I-512 Advance Parole" or "Not Valid for Reentry to U.S." If it has the former, then you are good to travel. If it has the latter, the obviously you cannot use it for international travel. On a side note, if you do travel with Advance Parole, then expect to have to go through secondary inspection when you reenter.

Do I need visa to UsA if I am Israeli Citizen?

Anyone traveling on an Israeli passport needs a visa to enter the United States.

You can apply for the B2 visa at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid or the Consulate General in Barcelona.

At the bottom of my work permit is written "serves as I-512 advance parole" so that means I can travel outside the U.S right? Do I need to report I'm going out of country? If yes, to whom?

Yes, just as the notation on the card says, the document is both an EAD (Employment Authorization Document) and an Advance Parole (i.e. the permission to leave the country and to return without abandoning your pending adjustment of status case). Here’s an article on these documents:USCIS to Issue Employment Authorization and Advance Parole Card for Adjustment of Status Applicants: Questions and AnswersIf you have AP, there is no need to specifically “report” one’s travel; you travel with an AP document just as you would with a multiple-entry non-immigrant visa or a permanent resident card (“green card”).Of course, just like with a visa (or even a green card), an AP is not an absolute permission to re-enter the USA, but merely a permission to board an aircraft an to apply for [re]admission; it’s still up to the CBP officer to make the admission decision. (U.S. Customs and Border Protection : “Please note that Advance Parole does not guarantee admission into the United States. Aliens with Advance Parole are still subject to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection inspection process at the port of entry.”). In practice, I suppose the chances of being denied re-admission are low, absent special circumstances (e.g., the persons adjustment of status application was denied while the person was out of the country, or some grounds of inadmissibility came to light).

After how much time can I return to my home country while the green card process is going on?

If you applied for a green card then you probably should not leave the country because USCIS will deem your adjustment application to be abandoned. If you get your advance parole and work authorization (EAD card with travel authorization) before you get the green card, then you have travel authorization. But you have to make sure the EAD card is WITH advance parole. A regular EAD card with work authorization only does NOT give the right to travel. Also, I do not know how it would affect your green card application if you leave the country while the I-485 is pending EVEN IF you do have travel authorization. So it would be best to talk to a lawyer and not to book any flights yet. Just be patient and wait until you get the green card, it might save you a lot of money and stress instead of messing up the application and then having to argue with USCIS that you did not intend to abandon the application.

Why can’t a DACA person apply for citizenship in the USA?

I'd like to expand on the excellent answers so far.In order to become a citizen, one must first be a Licensed Permanent Resident for 5 years (you must have a green card). Most DACA recipients are not eligible for a green card. In fact, very few people in the world are. The primary way to get a green card is by family reunification. That is, an immediate relative or spouse must sponsor you. If you don't have any immediate relatives who are already US citizens, then you're pretty much out of luck.Even if they are married to a citizen, they're still likely not eligible. DACA does not give them a valid immigration status. This puts them into the same category as anyone here illegally, and in general they must leave the country and wait ten years before applying for a visa of any kind. They are then subject to the same delays as anyone else. For instance, someone from Mexico will have to wait another 20 years because of per-country quotas.Bottom line: they need a green card, but they can't get one.References:DACA: https://www.dhs.gov/sites/defaul...Immigration 101: Why Can’t Immigrants Just "Get Legal", “Get in Line” and Get Their Papers? - America's VoiceArticle by Scott Hicks on wait times.
