I Am Having Trouble Renewing My Flickr Account. How Can I Contact A Representative Directly

Can I transfer IRA accounts if my old one is linked to a CD?

I rolled over 401K funds to a traditional IRA savings account a couple years ago (this is in the U.S.)
I have been shopping around for more competitive savings rates and now I want to switch to a different bank for my IRA. Trouble is, my current IRA savings is linked to a 5-year IRA CD which will not hit maturity for a few more years.
Two important questions here:
1. Can I transfer my traditional IRA savings to another bank, even though it was linked to my 5-year IRA CD account which hasn't matured yet? Will there be penalties for this? I don't plan to withdraw anything early from the 5-year CD. I'm just concerned whether or not it needs to be linked to that IRA savings account that first set it up.
2. Should I wait until my IRA CD matures in a few years and then request that the funds be transferred to a new IRA at a different bank as soon as the CD hits its maturity date?
Thanks for your help!

p.s. this is what the account disclosure and agreement said, but not sure how to interpret it and i feel I do not have enough information. The bank's customer rep. agent wasn't much help either. Let's go ahead and hypothetically call my bank, [ABC] Bank. Thanks again!

"If the CD is not renewed at maturity, all certificate funds will be transferred to your regular share account."
"CDs cannot be pledged, transferred or assigned to any party other than [ABC] Bank. If your CD is part of an IRA, it is expressly excluded from any pledge of deposits you have previously made to [ABC] Bank."

Denied a driver license renewal until a "background check" is completed?

This happened to my sister-in-law.

Her and her husband are in the U.S. on work visas. All their documents are in order, and they recently had their visas stamped again in India.

Her drivers license was expiring, so she went to have it renewed. The driver license division took her license, and said they have to do a "background check" that can take anywhere from 4 - 6 weeks. She is a busy physician, and a new mother. She has a clear driving history, and she is not in any kind of legal trouble.

My question is this: What law gives these people the right to revoke a persons driving priviledges without cause? Yes, I know driving is a priviledge, but it should not be revoked without a reason. She did nothing wrong!

What are her options? I am ashamed of the state of Georgia for this nasty treatment of a legal immigrant.

How much does Microsoft charge to repair a cracked screen on a Surface Pro 3?

I love this question. :)Simply because there appear to be a lot of different answers, and truth to be told. I love diversity. However, here is a better question…How did the screen get cracked and is it covered under the Microsoft Warranty. In most cases physical damage to any device is not covered under the warranty. However, the best place to get the answer is to contact your manufacture for support directly. In this case it would be Microsoft Support. The first option is to do this online via the link below.Cracked screen and physical damageThe second option is to bring the device to any of the Microsoft StoresPlease note that both options will give you a cost estimate depending on the device and the damage done to it.I hoped this has answered your question, and sorry for the delay but I seem to be getting a lot of questions lately and have been taking them as they come and doing the research before giving the answer. Please feel free to respond to this post should you have any further questions, or require further assistance.

In canada can employee end the contract for pregnant woman?

Can a pregnant woman be fired? Yes.

Can a pregnant woman be fired because she's pregnant? No. Even if the pregnancy was a relatively small consideration, if it weighed in favour of the termination at all, that's unlawful.

If the employer didn't know about the pregnancy, then they're pretty much within their rights. (Whether or not two weeks is sufficient notice of termination is questionable, and depends on a few factors, but if it isn't then you might be owed pay in lieu of notice. That's not likely to be a particularly significant amount, though.)

ETA: It's pretty common to see Eric's "rule of thumb"...but empirical studies of judicial decisions have demonstrated that it doesn't really have much predictive value in terms of determining notice periods, and appellate courts (or, at least, the Ontario Court of Appeal - I can't speak for certain of other Provinces) have expressly rejected the notion of such a rule of thumb as a legal principle, as it puts too much emphasis on the length of service, to the detriment of the other equal factors such as age of the employee, character of the employment, and availability of replacement employment.

With a short-service young person whom I presume is a non-managerial employee, I would expect the reasonable notice period to be quite limited, unless there are exceptional circumstances. On the most generous read of the unknowns here, we're talking 3, maybe 4 months tops. Likely less. And remember to discount the actual notice which was provided.

But the real caveat is that not everyone is entitled to reasonable notice. A written contract can limit entitlement to the Employment Standards minimums.

As for what the Employment Standards minimums are...well, that depends on Province and/or the business of the employer. I can tell you that for a Provincially-regulated relationship in Ontario, two weeks would be inadequate for an employee with over 3 years of service under the Employment Standards Act, 2000. (The minimum would be 3 weeks.) But I can't really speak to other Provinces.

What is the best place for a couple to travel for $4000 (USD) to an international location from USA? What are suggestions in Europe for 10 to 12 days during the summer months (April to August)? Is it possible to cover multiple countries?

Alright. Let's do this. You'll depart on May 7 and return home with a happy face on May 20. One of the cheapest way to get to Europe from San Francisco is a direct flight to London. Which is good, because London is awesome. Flight is $2180 for both of you. That leaves you with $1820.You'll want to spend at least 2-3 days in London. This is going to be your private room which will set you back $220. You're left with $1600.On the 9th of May you'll take a cheap ($122 for both - WHAT!) flight from London to the green green grass of Amsterdam. If you know what I mean *wink*. You now have almost $1500 in your wallet but you are happier than ever. You're going to spend 3 nights in a fantastic apartment in Amsterdam. It will cost you $370 but it's so gonna be worth it. Day 6. $1100-ish left.Next stop: heaven. On the 12th you'll hop on another cheap flight ($160 for both) to one of the greatest cities in Europe. Barcelona. This is the place where you're going to spend the rest of your trip. Why? Because it's amazing. Amazing food, amazing architecture, amazing things happening on a street near you, amazing whatever you want. So let's find a place to stay. We have $940 and a bit over a week left. Are you worried about the cost of spending 8 nights in an awesome city? Worry not, my friend. I got you covered.$370 for 8 nights? You're probably thinking "What? You've gotta be kidding me". I kid you not. This is your private room. Oh, and it's close to the beach. Hell yeah.So now you have $570 but you gotta get back to London somehow. Let's say $100 for both of you. Sounds good? Damn right it does. And that's it. A 14 day trip for two people (SFO ✈ LON ✈ AMS ✈ BCN ✈ LON ✈ SFO) for $3500 including great places to stay in each of those cities. Sure, you only have $500 for food and stuff like public transport and whatever random things you want to experience. But you'll sure have an amazing vacation.Have fun!

Are there consultants to guide one on how to create a snazzy startup name like "Digg", "Reddit", "Google" or "Bing"?

1. Background about namingIt seems to me that few syllables (typically 2) are usually much better performing names (with a few very big exceptions though) than others. My personal theory is that each syllable draws pronunciation energy from the speaker.2. Company names examples with:1 syllable: Bing, Ask, Xing, Ning, Dell, Skype, Slide, Yelp, Ford2 syllables: Google, Yahoo, Ebay, Paypal, Facebook, Quora, Zynga, Youtube, Baidu, Blogger, Wordpress, Twitter, LinkedIn, Craigslist, Flickr, Apple, CNet, Tumblr, TwitPic, Reddit, Netflix, SourceForge, Techcrunch, Hulu, bit.ly, Atbrox, Scribd*, Tesla, Samsung3 syllables: Amazon, Microsoft, LiveJournal, GoDaddy, Cloudera, Mozilla,  Mashable, Toyota, 4 syllables:  Hewlett Packard, Mitsubishi, StumbleUpon5 syllables: Wikipedia3. Impact on naming for investors?I believe naming is so important that even (super) angels, venture capitalists and other investors should weigh this heavily when investing in consumer startups (just take a look at your existing portfolio), this belief is backed by Alexa top 500 list[2]. See also 5.4. How to find a name?My recommendation is to running a mapreduce where each mappers creates a huge amount of random words or permutations of characters and create a scoring  function in the reducer that scores up word with syllables[1], vowel density, pronouncability and scores down existing names (or domain names) (seed it with a list of brand names) and other unwanted words.5. Predictions about last batch of Ycombinator companies[3]a) Predicted best investments from last yc demo day (i.e. have 2 syllables):AdGrok, FanVibe, Gantto, Hipmunk, Brushes, OhLife, GazeHawk, Teevox [1] http://www.howmanysyllables.com/...[2] http://www.alexa.com/topsites[3] http://techcrunch.com/2010/08/24...(* unsure about pronunciation of Scribd)

Straight talk phone says I have 30 service days but won't make/receive calls/texts?

When I send a text, says message failed. When I try calling someone, I get an automated message saying that my phone has been deactivated. However, I checked my online straight talk account and it says my phone is still activated. I have tried taking the battery out for about 5 minutes and putting it back in but the problem still persists.
