I Am Scared About Going To Tech School

I'm thinking about enrolling into ITT tech school I'm scared what should I expect? I'm a 21 year old convicted felon single mother who wants to change

Hi,First of all, give yourself a ton of credit that you are exploring opportunities to improve your future for yourself and your children. Next is taking action! That being said, here are a couple of things I would recommend before you jump into ITT Technical School, or any education and training for that matter, you NEED to find out what it is you want to do, and what career direction you want to go in. Do you like being outdoors? Working with your hands? Are you creative? Do you want to want to work in an office? To find these types of answers I’m going to send you to a career/personality quiz that I’ve used with tons of young people that’s simple and ridiculously accurate. It’s here at this link…. Nail Your Strengths QuizI also recommend you check out the whole website where that quiz is. I developed it for people who are trying to figure out a career direction. It’s here at this link… Your Future, Your Way. Own It. There’s a lot of great stuff there, but for DIY career guidance click on the ‘Start Here” which is on the header menu. That all being said, after you figure out what you might want to do for a job, then you need to explore the different career and education training options available to you before you jump into applying to ITT Tech. Here are a few places you could look for training that could get you trained and working pretty quickly…Go to your local Workforce Development Board. Each US state has these. Find out if there are any training programs available for you and if there is any government funding to help you pay for themCheck out the community colleges in your area to see what career and skills training programs they offer (these usually give you a certification type of diploma).Contact local technical/vocational high schools and see if they have any career and skills training programs. This is a good start. Once you figure out a career direction to go in, and have checked out some education and training programs, feel free to let me know and I can help you with the next steps. Or if you get stuck before that, send me a question and I’ll do my best to help you out.Hope this helps! Good luck!MicheleFounder of (Bhlue. Your Future, Your Way. Own It. Is it hard to get laid at tech school?

Depends on whether you are male or female. Since the vast majority of military personnel are male, the females can be rather choosy. Therefore they, and not the males, have the greater chance of getting laid.

I’m scared to go to automotive school because I’m a girl. Should I still consider going?

Yes off course!Let me take you back 10 years when I was 15 years old myself. All i was thinking off at that age was becoming a EMT worker, so I could follow my dreams of variety and adrenaline in my career. To do so, i had to apply for the healthcare sector of the public high school.Easy peasy right? But here comes the problem for a insecure 15 year old boy, other people's opinion.Every people who applied to that sector of the high school was I my mind either gay, or fat girls… I thought. I was so afraid of what my friends and other people would think of me if I choose to go that direction. So as the insecure 15 year boy I was, I choose to take the general high school path that all of my friends choose. The consequences for that choice was a 3 years of depression, anxiety and zero motivation. My grades where piss poor, and I skipped school so much that I did¨t pass many of my classes. This has affected me in so many ways in my adult life that I could imagine at the time. My experience of school was so destroyed that I still haven't finished the classed that I flunked, and had to takes jobs that I really hate. But today I give less shit about was other people may think of me, and try to follow my passion. I really wished I had this insight 10 years ago, so I hope from the bottom of my heart that you dont make the same mistake as me, and suffer from it.Dont care what other people say and think off you, your life is to short and valuable to follow other people's expectations and dreams.I hope that you follow your heart, cause some day you will be rewarded for your courage and self awareness.

Tech school reclass or discharge usaf?

I am pretty sure you get 3 chances to pass your NREMT, did you already use up all 3?
Once you fail once your put into almost remedial course/study course to help you pass the test.

But I did want to add, your recruiter did not lie to you, if you listed open general on your list at MEPS, and then they reserved that job for you, you have to take it, or else they would have dropped you from DEP.

If i got pregnant during my air force tech school could i separate and go guard?

No, here's what will happen you idiot, once you get preggars you won't be able to complete tech school, which pretty much means you failed it. Didn't your recruiter have you sign multiple times that if you can't complete tech school you are volunteering for seperation from the USAF? So go ahead and then ruin your military career.

Failed out of aircrew tech school...worried?

I recently failed out of the air force aircrew tech school. I was going to be a loadmaster. The info we had to learn wasn't tough but I had a hard time keeping an 85% the entire time when we'd have upwards of four quizzes a day. Anyhow, now I am awaiting reclass and am a bit scared my next tech school is going to be as hard. I chose two intel jibs, air trans and dental assistant, does anyone know if aircrew is the only one that makes u maintain an 85%? do the other tech schools have progress checks? Also, is it true that if u fail a second tme you get discharged for 6 months and then can come back?

I feel really nervous of going to graduate school. Is this normal?

I did really well in undergrad - Dean's list, perfect GPA, double degree. Of course, I wasn't nervous. I thought I would excel. I've always excelled in school. But I didn't. I floundered, all the time. I could master my material but I didn't know how to apply or what to do with it. I couldn't produce the desired output of grad school - research. Because grad school is not really school. It's a business, an industry, a strategic game that happened to be hidden inside a school. Doing research is not scoring exams, memorizing content nor taking really good notes and understanding everything. Doing research requires a whole new set of skills that are not necessarily tested or required at the undergrad level. So perhaps you didn't do well in undergrad, but that's not going to predict your grad school experience. It's normal to feel nervous, because you're expecting a future experience based on your past performance. The good news is, you don't have to feel nervous because you didn't do well in the past. You only have to be nervous because you don't know what's going to happen in the future - and this you can control with loading up on information. Be excited!

Do you regret going to Georgia Tech?

I’ll say this: there have been times where attending Georgia Tech has been very difficult but I do not regret my decision to attend at all.Tech pushes you, hard. It is definitely one of the premier tech educations in the world and the rigor of the program reflects it. There were exams that took so much out of me that I questioned whether I belonged at the school. The imposter effect is so easy to slip into.At the same time, however, you get to be in Midtown Atlanta with mostly sun throughout the school year (although it does get chilly in the winter) in an environment where you are surrounded by some of the most talented and driven people you may ever meet. You have all sorts of groups you can join and find a sense of community between dance teams, greek organizations, clubs, and more. Perhaps most importantly, employers recognize the rigor of Tech was it shows at career fairs. The access to potential employers and resources for interview prep and such is unbelievable.Basically, Tech will make you work hard, but your efforts will be rewarded. And for all the late nights you may have, you’ll have friends who are working their butts off next to you. You may have some lows but you’ll have just as many, and typically more, great time with great friends. That was my experience in one year at Tech. I had some lows, and a ton of highs. Landed an internship, made some amazing friends and connections. Don’t imagine where I would be as a person or in my CS career had I not gone to Tech but I am immensely happy with my experience thus far and cannot wait to go back in the fall.
