I Cant Afford A Water Filter But I Want To Start Drinking Lots Of Water A Day What Should I Do

Can drinking nothing but water be bad for you?

so for the past 3 months i've been drinking nothing but water because i don't really want to drink soda or sugar drinks or anything like that and i don't really like substitutes so i decided id go all natural and just drink water (occasional orange juice for breakfast). but it seems since i started doing that i get kinda sick a lot lately. like probably every 3 weeks or so...is this my boy adjusting to it? because before this i probably never drank water except when i was in school and drank from the bubbler before that it was always soda (reason i stopped) it is city faucet water so could it be dirty to drink a lot? i reas somewhere excess ammount of faucet water can make you sick. anybody know?

Could we potentially run on out of drinking water in the future?

Only about 1% of earth’s water is fresh and easily accessible, a big part of it in form of snow fields and glaciers; unfortunately a lot of people don’t have access to it. Today we have the technology to produce “new” fresh water from saline water through desalination. It may not be cheap, but combined with the quickly advancing solar technology, I guess, that it would already be possible to produce fresh water wherever it is desperately needed. Children are dying of dehydration, while goverments spend billions on aircraft carriers and fighter jets and god nows what else… I’m not really answering your question, it’s just a rant. Something is just sooo wrong if you think about this for a moment…

How long after drinking a cup of water will you feel the need to pee?

The answer to you question is very simple. It depends on how hydrated you are at that moment. If you are dehydrated, your kidneys will conserve water and it may be hours before you make any urine. If you are overhydrated, you will make urine immediately. When you drink water, it is absorbed through the lining of the small and large intestines into your blood. This absorption occurs at a rate that depends largely on how much water you need at that time. Your body uses the concentration of certain elements to keep track of how much water is in the blood and tissues. If there isn't enough water, you get thirsty and the kidneys filter out less water. If there is too much, your thirst is suppressed and the kidneys filter out more. The kidneys have to produce a small amount of urine constantly to get rid of metabolic wastes. But it also helps maintain the correct amount of water in your body. So if you add a lot of water, your kidneys will detect that and filter out more. This is the reason why your urine is clear when you drink a lot of water and much darker when you don't.

My dog barely drinks half a glass of water in a day. What can I do to get her drink more?

i had a very sick cat who refused to drink and the vet even supplied me with a saline solution bottle with a super sharp needle on the end to supply water to the sub skin area behind the cats shoulder blades. that of course was horrible to do, the needle kept falling out from the pressure of the water and it was at least a little painful for the cat to be stuck with the huge needle.so, i got a plastic syringe with no needle and started feeding my cat water with that, just squirting it in his mouth. eventually he started biting on the end but was doing so with purpose because he was eagerly swallowing the water that was being squirted in and seemed to enjoy it.i think with a dog you might try a turkey baster syringe filled with water. but you have to be smart about it you don’t want to overwhelm the throat with too much water or you will be waterboarding and torturing your dog. you have to only squeeze enough water in so that they can drink it but also squirt enough water in that it forces them to swallow. once your dog gets used to being hydrated this way it could be that they like it and will get a taste for water and will start drinking on their own again. some larger breed dogs, well even small ones, won’t or cannot drink from a dish on the floor. you might want to try one of those dishes that is up higher from the floor so that the dog is in a more natural position to drink.

We have seen that a graphene filter will make seawater drinkable. If we start drinking the sea, how long will current water volumes hold up?

That's not how water works.Almost all the water we drink comes from the sea originally, and it goes back to the sea. We've had desalination plants for quite some time, and alter sea levels not one iota. All the water we drink exits our bodies in some way, either as vapor or liquid, and finds its way to the oceans sooner or later. Incidentally, the biggest limitation on desalination is the energy required. New filter materials may be an incremental improvement, but I've seen nothing to suggest that this is a gamechanger in any case. But I'm actually curious about the question. If we really could drink up the ocean, and not give it back, what would the impact be? Well, there are seven and a half billion people on the earth. Assume we each drink two liters of water a day on average, that's 15 billion liters a day, or 5.5 trillion liters per year. Sounds like a lot, right? Well, a cubic kilometer of water contains a trillion liters, which means that humanity drinks 5.5 cubic kilometers per year. The oceans of the world contain about 1.3 billion cubic kilometers. Which means that it would take humans 2.3 million years to drink 1% of the oceans.Of course, humans use a lot more water that what we drink. All told, we use about 9,000 cubic kilometers per year, for all uses. That means that, if we somehow used up or stored all the water we used, we could use up 1% of the worlds oceans in a mere 1.400 years. That would naturally be expected to increase with industrialization (wealthy countries use a lot more water than poor ones). If the global population leveled off at 9 billion, and all of those people used as much water as the current average American, the world would use 27,000 cubic kilometers per year. At that rate, we could drain 1% of the world's oceans in only 500 years. In short, oceans are too big for us to ever drink, even if we didn't give back all the water we drink. There's no danger of the world running out of water. The danger is us using water faster than it can be purified.
