I Cant Afford Health Insurance

What to do if you can't afford health insurance?

It must be more of that phony information going around. If you can't afford health insurance you can't afford $3,800. I guess we'll all end up in jail where they feed, house, educate and have free health care.

I can't afford health insurance for myself?

I'm a single mom and I want afford insurance for myself. My job doesn't offer insurance, that I know of. I work at a pizza place. I need help identifying all my options for a cheap insurance that doesn't leave a huge co pay?

If you can't afford health insurance for your family and the government says you make too much...?

You are in the grey zone. So am I. You make too much to qualify for any public assistance but not really enough to live the way people assume Americans are supposed to live. It's awful because when people hear that you don't have "X" they just assume that you aren't trying hard enough.

Try every possible assistance source you can find for your area and check over the published qualification guidelines carefully. At $48K, I doubt you'll find anything that you qualify for, but it never hurts to double check. After that, shop around on-line for private insurance. You might be able to find very basic coverage for a price you can afford, maybe just for physicals and prescriptions. If that fails, speak with your doctors. Most doctors really do want to be sure that their patients are cared for and might be wiling to give you a discounted office visit rate. A lot of doctors also have drug samples that they can give you if you need a prescription.

The ultimate solution, short of more income, would be to find a job that offers better medical benefits.

I can't afford to buy health insurance. What should I do?

The marketplace (also known as Obama Care, Affordable Care Act, the exchange) has insurance and subsidies (discounts) for people who cannot afford insurance. You will have to state your income (because they will get their subsidy back if you make more money than you claimed). Your premiums may be nothing or next to nothing, but you still have to pay out of pocket for your medical bills until you reach a deductible, then they (tax-payers) will pay a portion of your bills, until you reach a calendar-year out of pocket maximum amount, and then they'll cover the rest. This acts just like most insurance out there. AND I HAVE SEEN PLANS ON OBAMACARE/A.C.A. OFFER LOWER DEDUCTIBLES AND MORE COVERAGE THAN MAJOR GROUP PLANS.If you make zero dollars, especially where kids are involved, you may qualify for Medicaid, which is coverage for extremely poor people. Think “free clinics.” But……in the state I live and others, there is a gap between Medicaid and ObamaCare/A.C.A. It's that space between making some money but not enough to be subsidized on government insurance. If you fall in this gap, I hear you pay for everything out of pocket. Absurd, right?

College student, can't afford health insurance?

Welfare qualifications are based on the income of the entire household. In most states, however, welfare will not give benefits to able bodied adults, and many of those states consider you an adult at age 18.

Your other options would consist of getting a job with benefits or getting a part time job and buying your own insurance. In many states $270 per month would be very high for a 19 year old so you may be able to find coverage for less. You'll want to speak with an agent that works with all of the major companies in your area to see what is available and at what premium. There is no charge using an agent.

College student, can't afford health insurance?

I was wondering if I have any options here. Here's the situation :
I lived with my parents until I was 18, which they both and myself had Medicade as insurance. When I moved out, I lost my Medicade, but they both still have theirs. I currently live with my best friend and his family as they lived much closer to the college I chose to go to. The family consists of the mother, two children 14 and 17, and another college student 18. I'm currently 19 and a full time student without a job. If I was to apply for Medicade, would the income for the application be based off just myself, or everyone I live with? I'm fairly certain if it was based off everyone I wouldn't qualify. If that was the case, what are my other options for insurance?

I Can no Longer Afford Health Insurance?

I buy health insurance through my employer, and I love the insurance. However, I can no longer afford to pay for it. My husband lost his job about 3 months ago and we are only working off of my income. We are barely making it. We have 4 children. I want to stop the insurance because I can barely afford to pay our bills or put food on the table, I can't even afford to pay the $25 co-pay for Dr. visits. I have been going to the health dept for all of our medical issues. The insurance comp told me they can not and will not cancel my insurance even though we are on the verge of poverty, but I'm paying United Health Care $352.56/mo. I need to know what to do to get out of this insurance policy for right now. I feel like they are forcing me to pay for insurance when I no longer want it! They said it is some type of Georgia Law. There has to be a way to end this. I need that extra $88.14/weekly. Does anybody know what I can do to stop these people from forcing me to have their insurance??
