I Do P90x Ab Ripper Everyday No Other Workouts Is This Bad

P90x ab ripper everyday?

Doing the ab ripper X, or an any abdominal workout everyday is doing more harm than good. You don't want to workout the same muscle group everyday. Simply put your muscles need rest. It wont stunt your growth, but doing it everyday will not speed up your results. Every other day would be substantial. Also, to get abs, doing cardio (running, eliptical, cycling, etc.) will help speed up results.

Is doing the same ab workout every day bad?

Cross training and doing different styles of workouts typically yields gains faster than a strict routine. As far as abs go, there are tons and tons of exercises of varying difficulty. Changing 1 exercise a week (add a new one, throw and old one out) would probably give you a good balance, and it keeps you from getting bored.
And remember, your abs don't show if there's fat over top of them. If you want a nice tummy, you can't neglect cardio training and lifting as well.

Is doing p90x ab ripper everyday okay?

Working out your abs everyday won't stunt your growth (it's just a myth), but not only is it not necessary, it's counter productive in the long run. Your muscles need time to recover and respond to the workouts. This is especially true if the ab workout is intense, like the ab ripper x routine.

Another problem with working out your abs everyday is muscular (postural) imbalance. If you always train your ab muscles and neglect your lower back muscles, you can actually be increasing your risk of injury because your front (abs) will be stronger than the back, ultimately messing with your joints and movement.

I'm currently in Phase 1 in the p90x program, and I only do the Ab Ripper X 3 times a week (days 1,3,5). I find that to be sufficient since my goal is to tone up. If your trying to slim down a few inches, then mixing abs with cardio is your answer.

A good alternative (and way more low impact) to the ab ripper, is doing Pilates. It works out your entire core (upper, mid, lower abs, obliques, and back). It stresses quality of quantity. I would recommend trying one class just to get the technique correct. After that you can try a DVD. When I was taking classes, I noticed I was standing straighter (and still the same height) because my core was so much stronger.

Anyway, when it comes to abs, it's a more efficient workout when you mix it up, allow for recovery and remember its the quality not the quantity (you still have to push yourself) of the reps that matter.

Hopefully I helped you out...good luck :)

Will Doing Ab Ripper X (P90X) Twice A Day Give Better Or Worse Results?

It's super over kill. Doing it everyday doesn't give that muscle group time to regenerate and heal. You shred and shred your muscles and they just get torn apart. Doing it twice just compounds it. There's a reason you do different workouts in that series every day. It's to give your muscles enough time to heal and regenerate.

Long and short of it. You get stronger by allowing your muscles to regenerate after an intense workout. Doing the same workout every day doesn't let your muscles heal, and you get no results. So you will get worse results.

Am i supposed to do p90x everyday?

The program is designed for 6 days a week with the 7th day being an optional rest/stretch day. Each week you will have 3 strength training days that are approximately 60 minutes long and then the ab ripper workout which is another 16 minutes. There are 2 cardio workouts each week that are approximately 60 minutes and the yoga video is 90 minutes long. The optional stretch video is about 50 minutes, but is so worth it if you have the time.

The only thing you have to have is a resistance band. I did the entire first month of the program with one band. I decided to upgrade after the first month and purchased a pull up bar and some dumbbells, which I think has made a big difference. A yoga mat is nice to have, but not a neccesity.

During some of the workouts you will use common items you have in your house, like a chair and a plastic plate, but for the most part you will have everything you need.
