I Got Mono A Year In A Half Ago. 2 Weeks Of Having Mono My Muscles Started To Hurt Especially My

Is it possible to have strep or another virus on top of having mono?

hey guys thanks. i do have chloraseptic spray but that doesnt do anything to the pain. as for gargling salt water, ive done that quite but it hasnt really seemed to do anything either.
i did go to the doctors and at first gave me a vicodin prescription, but that didnt allow me to sleep so they decided to give me a shot of morphine and a prescription for percocet. most would think that those two would get the job done, but once again i had a very hard time sleeping. so the doctors then basically said i need to ride it out. ive had the sore throat for a little over a week now and they said it should start slowly getting better soon (i cant wait for that to happen)
they also said motrin might help with the inflammation, but i wish they gave me a steroid for it cause that back of my throat is disgusting and it hurts to swallow, so i havent really eaten or drank anything for the past couple days, which probably isnt helping me at all.

Will wearing only one contact affect your vision negatively?

I’m no optometrist, but I googled it. If you’re saying that both eyes need correction but you are only wearing one contact lens, you will likely experience no permanent harm. You may get headaches and become annoyed from the eye strain. I am extrapolating from studies studying the effects of reading in the dark. I don’t know why you would make yourself miserable by only having half of your vision corrected. I would suggest either getting more contacts or wearing corrective glasses?

How long does doxycycline stay in your system after 3 weeks of taking it?

As others have written, the half life of doxycycline is about 18 hours. That means that every 18 hours the level drops in half. After 4 or 5 half lives a drug reaches steady state. That means that’s how long it takes to reach a steady level after you start taking it. So after 5 x 18 hours = 90 hours, or about 4 days, you will reach the maximum level you will attain for whatever dose you are taking. Whether you take it for 3 weeks, or 3 years, it will remain at the same level (assuming your body continues to break down the medications the same). When you ask how long it stays in your system, it depends on what you mean exactly.Let say that the day you stop taking the doxycycline your level is 100% of it’s maximum. Here’s how it would decline:18 hours - 50%36 hours - 25%54 hours - 12.5%64 hours - 6.125%82 hours - 3.0625%100 hours - 1.531%118 hours - 0.765%So in less than 5 days there is less than 1% left in the body. In real life the 18 hour half life is an average, and the rate of elimination may vary with concentration and other factors. But as rule of thumb we say that after 4 or 5 half lives it’s essentially out of the system in terms of whether it may still causing any affect and whether it may interact with other drugs.

About infectious mononucleosis...?

I have recently had contact with a person who had infectious mononucleosis. He recovered 2 months ago. Is there any possibility that even though it had passed for him that now, 2 moths later, i have caught the virus?

I was diagnosed eith Mono 2 months ago. Can I work out now?

It's been 2 months since I was diagnosed with mono. The doctor never told me my organs were swollen enough to worry about only that they COULD have been but when he checked he felt nothing unusual but not do do heavy lifting or contact sports for 2 months . Do you think lifting weights would be okay now?

Sore throat, pain in left ear when swallowing.?

does this sound like an ear infection to you? I don't really feel "sick" but my throat is sore on the left side and when I swallow, I feel it in my left ear. I started taking zinc losenges this morning thinking I was getting a cold but never got sick, just the sore throat & ear. I have some antibiotics.. would it be safe to take them when I've taken zinc this morning?

Mono questions!?

Okay, so what's the low down on mono? I want to know EVERYTHING about it. Is it a bacteria? A virus? How is it spread? Is it easier to get it by kissing or by drinking after someone who has it. I could really use some answers! Thank you so much! Have a great day!

Did you ever have a feeling something was wrong with your health even though several doctors told you you were OK, only to find out months later that you were right?

Yes,I had just moved to Palm Springs, California. About a week after I arrived I started getting stomach aches, not too bad at first but then they got worse and worse. Felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife. They hurt so bad I couldn’t sleep or eat. I was crying in pain everyday. I found a nice doctor who did every test under the sun. They took pints and pints of blood for every kind test. I had a CT scan, an Ultrasound, a MRI and even a colonoscopy. Nothing. Changed my diet as they thought maybe a gluten allergy. Nothing worked. Since they couldn't find anything they sent me to a shrink. Told me it was anxiety from moving. Wanted to give me antidepressants. I wasn't depressed or crazy, I was in excruciating pain. They even accused me of going to the ER just to get pain meds, so all this horrendous pain and never given any pain meds. My doctor called me in as he figured the only test I never got was an internal ultrasound. They found a cyst on my left ovary. Did biopsy, no cancer so they wanted to remove it laparascopically. Went to a Gyno. She was super mean and I hated her on the spot. She insisted this was not the cause of my pain as small cysts don't hurt and my stomach pain was on the opposite side and higher up. I refused to let her remove it. I found a specialist in female cancer. Even though they said they found nothing I begged her for a full hysterectomy. ( I was 48 and had no plans to have children). After pleading and begging she agreed to remove it and check it out. She promised if it looked bad then she would do the full hysterectomy. Guess what, they found pre-cancer cells in the cyst, which by the way was now the size of a large egg. Once they saw that, she did the full hysterectomy. Guess what, I slept for the first time in what felt like weeks. I recovered and have been stomach pain free for the last 5 tears. You know your body better than anyone. If you're in pain, check everything out, if they find something get it fixed, even if they say that can't possibly the cause of your pain.
