I Got Suspended From School For Helping My Friend Cheat On An Exam. How Can I Convince My Parents

Will I get expelled for cheating in school?

Friday I took a 31 point math test at my high school. Today,on the other hand....my teacher found out that i cheated off the kid in front of me (my best friend) anyways, he wants to talk to me tomarrow. If I lie to him, both of us fail, but if I tell the truth I'll fail. If I fail this test I won't pass for the semester. If he finds out I cheated, he'll tell the principal, then my parents...and they'll flip. In our school book it says that (disiplane is nessarary in this situation) but does that mean suspension? Plz help.... Thx

What was your last exam cheating experience in college?

I last cheated in an exam when I was in 8th standard. It was a class test. The subject was Hindi. The paper was really easy. I was able to answer it completely except just one question worth 0.5 marks. I knew if I get this answer, I'll get full marks. 20/20! But even after trying so hard, I couldn't remember the answer. Desperate to get a full score, I asked the person sitting next to me.We used to have 2 sets of papers. Set A and Set B. So we both had different papers, but still he told me the answer. I wrote the answer and was happy that I'll get 20/20.On the day the answer sheets were shown, as expected, I had secured 20/20. I happily went to my friends who were standing in a group and discussing who's got how much, and told them I have got 20/20. The boy who told me the answer on the exam day was also standing there. He also had secured 20/20. And he said, "Actually tere 19.5 hone chahiye. Wo to maine tujhe ek answer bta diya tha isiliye tere 20/20 aa gye". (translation: Actually, you should have secured 19.5 marks. It was just because I happened to tell you an answer that you got 20/20).Everybody started looking at me. They kept saying, I cheated to get 20/20 and I am bragging about it and I am such a shameless person. That day, I felt so embarrassed that I literally felt like crying. I was a good student in school. Always finished in top 5 of my class. I never felt so insulted before. For me those marks were like a beggar's coins. I had to beg to someone to get them. That day I vowed to never cheat again in my life. Most of my friends laughed at me. But I held onto my decision. 6 years later, now here I am, at an IIT, doing my B.tech and I still don't cheat in an exam. I try to sit on the first bench just in front of the invigilator so that I don't have to care about someone whispering me to ask a question. For those who are laughing while reading this answer and thinking, "LOL this is so stupid", "So childish", "a fake story. Everybody cheats", etc etc. No. Not everyone is like you. Some people value self respect more than marks. I would rather be happy scoring 10/20 myself than scoring 20/20, out of which I cheated for about 15 marks from someone else.

Help! Parents want me to cheat on exam?

my friend from another school takes the same AP as me and her teacher posted the most recent practice exam online (teachers aren't supposed to do that) and i know for a fact that its gonna be my final and my parents want me to memorize the answers! I dont want to but they've been yelling at me and slipping snide comments for the past few days...what do i do?

Persuade teacher not to call my parents?

Unfortunately, you are under age and legally if they fail to call and something happens - the school will be liable for that.

But I do understand your situation. Although there are ways around this, I cannot disclose this because if you follow those methods, I could get in trouble.

I got in tons of fights both at school and at home. I broke my jaw, nose, arm, legs - and my Dad was a retired Captain in the Navy. So, I got backed handed, punched and spanked with is Cadet belt and bruised - I got more from school. It affected me - and I took martial arts and continued to fight when I got to college. Unless your Dad back hands you, punches you or have you stand on the corner - arms spread out holding a book for 3 hours - I suggest you buck up and go with the belt - take it like a man.

Now, if you were acting like a thug and you couldn't take a belt but a fist - should there even be a question here?

Teachers: Have you ever accused a student of cheating and been wrong?

I definitely gave students zeros when they might have not been guilty of cheating. I can’t be 100% certain, but there had to be a few.I taught in an American dual degree program in china for 3 years. In one 5 month stretch, I probably caught about 55 or so students cheating.Seriously, I warned them that I was a ninja and that I would figure out if they were cheating. Some were idiots… I warned them every time… I gave them quizzes so that I could demonstrate all the different ways I would catch them in hopes that they wouldn’t cheat on a test. I would tell them if they were talking at all, for any reason, they would be receiving a zero. This is why I always gave at least 3 quizzes before the test so that they could see how serious I was and so that they wouldn’t fail the course if they cheated during a test. This was drilled into them. I would ask ‘What do you do when your neighbor says anything?’ and they would respond and say that they were not to respond. This rule was to be fair for everyone so that I wouldnt have to factor in my own bias if a student was cheating or asking what the answer is ;) jkA few times I had to take tests because of talking and the students were very upset. A couple times I was convinced that the student hadn’t cheated. I had one guy really upset because he didn’t want me to think less of him and he got emotional. As I said with all students, it was just a zero, he would need to study harder for the rest of the course and that I did not judge his character. It was tough, but rarely did I catch a student cheating twice. In one instance I ended up tutoring a student that was having a difficult time… Chinese students were very innovative with cheating. I learned a lot from my Chinese colleagues about how to catch it. They were so much more savvy than American students I’ve had haha

How to convince my teacher I didn't cheat?

Last Friday my geography teacher told me and 2 other students to go ask another teacher if we could use his room to draw a map of the world by memory. I had already left the room to go ask the teacher if we could use his room before she said draw the map by memory. So I was on the computer looking up a picture of the world and my partners didn't stop me even though they had heard my teacher say to draw by memory. When my teacher came into check on us she was flaming mad when she saw me looking at a picture of the world. She told our principle and I might get in seriously trouble come Monday. What should I say to get myself out of trouble???
The tricky part is that I just got suspended before break for cheating so I need something really believable to make sure I get out of trouble.
Thanks

Is cheating in high school ever okay? All it is is mountains of tests on stupid, irrelevant-to-life subjects, college level classes, scientific equations, and advanced complex math. None of it has to do with life, so why do I need to know it?

Absolutely! You should cheat as frequently as you can. I mean, try not to get caught, but if you do, it’s not that bad. Just keep cheating. It’s going to work out great for you in the long run. I mean, let’s look at some examples:Yup. Super successful. Won 7 Tours de France. What more could you want out of life? This guy got to take a ride in a helicopter!Thumbs up to cheating! This guy got to hit more home runs than anyone and get a whole new hat size! The problem with cheating is that it’s easy. It doesn’t make you more awesome, or stronger, or more capable, or more intelligent. It just gets you through the day. But tomorrow, people think you’re awesome, strong, capable, and intelligent. So you have to deliver, or you’ll be discovered as a cheat. So you cheat some more. But now people think you’re really awesome, strong, capable, and intelligent. You see where this is going: Cheaters almost always get caught. Or else they give up on cheating.Either way, you end up in a far worse place than you would have had you just worked through the problems you face.So cheat all you want. It’ll be great…for a while. Then, one day, when everyone knows just how splendid you are, when your reputation couldn’t be more stellar, you’ll be discovered for the fraud, the liar, the cheat that you are.Armstrong lost his endorsements and his championships. Nixon resigned in disgrace. Clinton nearly got kicked out of office, and was an anchor on his wife’s ambitions. Bonds will be forever denied the Hall of Fame, his amazing achievements scorned and derided.Try not to break any bones on your fall from grace.
