I Had A Dream That I Stabbed Myself

Had a dream I was stabbed in the heart?

To see aliens in your dream signify that you are having difficulties adapting and adjusting to your new surroundings. You are feeling "alienated" and disconnected. You may also be having difficulties with how to handle or deal with a certain situation or person. On a psychological level, seeing aliens represent an encounter with an unfamiliar or neglected aspect of your own self.

To dream that you have been stabbed signifies your struggle with power. You are experiencing feelings of inadequacy and defensiveness. Alternatively, the dream suggests that you are feeling betrayed as reflected by the popular phrase, "being stabbed in the back".

To dream that you are in pain suggests that you are being too hard on yourself, especially if a situation was out of your control. The dream may also be a true reflection of actual pain that exists somewhere in your body.

What does it mean if I had a dream that I stabbed myself?

I cannot remember my full dream, but i remember a part where i kept finding these weird arrow-knife things stabbed through me and I would have to pull them out. I then started stabbing myself with them and leaving them in, and pulling them out a little while later. It hurt to pull them out a little, but it did not hurt to stab myself. But there was not blood at any point in the dream. It is pretty disturbing to think about. Does anyone know what this could mean?

A dream about stabbing myself in the heart?

I dont really remember my setting, but I got this sword and I plunged it into my chest straight through to my back and then broke off the handle. I stabbed where my heart would be but in my dream I did not recognize that so I don't think this dream had to do with my heart. The rest of the dream I just remember searching for someone to stitch it up for me. Before I woke up from the dream I remember feeling the wound mark that was left behind, and when I woke up I had a slight pain on the skin of where I stabbed and I could still feel the wound. I was just wondering if it represented anything, any help would be appreciated.

Stabbing myself in the heart?

Dreams combine our perceptions, preferences, desires, and fears with hallucinogenic processes of the unconscious mind. “Internally generated activity is modulated by sensory input (perception). … Asleep vision (dreaming) is perception not tied down to anything in the real world. … What we call normal perception does not really differ from hallucinations, except that the latter are not anchored by external input.” (pages 44-46)

“A popular model of the neuroscience literature suggests that dream plots are stitched together from essentially random activity: discharges of neural populations of the mid-brain (p. 139)”

In other words, things we see, hear, taste, or feel are incorporated into internally generated mental activity of a hallucinatory nature; therefore, dreams do not necessarily have any meaning; although they may reflect our perceptions, preferences, desires, and fears.

I had a dream where I got stabbed when I woke up it still hurt like crazy where I got stabbed in my dream. Why is this happening?

It’s a myth that dreams only involve vision and sound and you can “pinch yourself” to find out if you’re dreaming. Dreams can involve all the senses you normally have when waking, including taste and touch. It’s just that the other components are less common and you’re less likely to remember them. However, blind or deaf people have dreams involving smell, taste and touch more often.Just as there isn’t a clear boundary between which senses occur in dreams, there isn’t a clear boundary between sleeping and being awake. Hallucinations that occur on the boundary between sleep and waking are called hypnopomoic hallucinations. They are part of your dream that continues into your waking life as your brain transitions into the wakeful state. It usually happens for a few seconds, but sometimes longer. When the dream component is an emotion or a physical sensation, I too have found it takes longer for your brain to realize you’re awake and halt the hallucination. Why? I don’t know, but I imagine that since your brain uses sight and heating to orient yourself, it starts receiving information that contrasts with the dream and shuts the dream world down immediately. That’s not the case for emotional or tactile inputs. I’ve also been stabbed or shot in dreams and found that a dull ache in that part of your body can continue for a few minutes after you wake up. The feelings of love, peace, fear or anger can continue for even longer. I think it’s because you can function as fully awake with a near-complete picture of reality for a couple minutes before tactile sensations from that part of your body override the illusory ones that were part of your dream.

What is the meaning of a dream about being stabbed in the chest?

The gestalt answer to questions about dreams is that you are always dreaming about yourself. So in this case you would want to look at who is stabbing you, and why. Then ask, “What part of my self or psyche is doing this to me?” And why? Then see yourself as the person in the dream who was stabbed, “How did you feel about it? We’re you shocked, happy, sad, scared?” Then go to your waking life and see what situations are parallel to your dream. Ie. Where do you feel like you’re stsbbed in the chest?Rarely are dreams precognitive or visionary. If they repeat, and are vivid, they may tell you what’s next in terms of your desire!Betsy Jordan| BullsEye Coach | Turbo Coaching
