I Have A Lump Behind My Ear. Should I Be Worried

Hard lump behind ear?

I hear ya. I worry about every little thing that goes on with my body. However, worrying about it and taking action is better than forgetting about it.

Most likely it's nothing. Our bodies forms little lumps all over for no reason, and 95 percent of the time, their just abnormal growths.

However, if you're concerned, you shouldn't be ashmed to see the doctor. It's your body, and you would know better than anyone if something's not right. Most likely the doctor will feel it, and he/she might order an MRI or X-ray if they think it's something to worry about. These are painless procedures, and are just more annoying than anything. Doctors take extra precaution to rule out everything because it's their job, but it's also your job to take care of yourself.

My suggestion would be to wait it out for a few weeks to see if it changes in size. If it gets smaller, it was nothing. If it happens to get bigger, then make an appointment with your doctor. Even then, I'm sure it's nothing, and just something you'll have to live with and monitor.

Should I be worried about a lump on my head?

I had a little bit of a headache when I left work today, (which is not uncommon considering I work in call centre :P) and as i was driving I was rubbing my head because it felt sore and I came across a lump.

The lump is located about 2 inches behind my ear on the left side of my head. It's fairly small, but it hurts to touch it. I haven't bumped my head at all and I didn't notice the lump in the shower this morning.

I know that we have lymph nodes around that area, so it is just a swollen lymph node? I have been feeling a little under the weather over the past few days, with a bit of a sore throat. Should I go to the doctor just to make sure?

Thanks for you answers everyone :)

Lump behind ear?

There are several things that it could be. It may be a benign cyst or may be a result of an issue with your thyroid. However, since you cannot diagnose yourself, you should have it checked by a physician. Be sure to let them know of any other symptoms you may have like fever, pain in the neck or throat, dry mouth, swollen glands in your armpits. Also, mention that they should check you for MRSA. Good luck and feel better!

What is this small lump behind my ear lobe?

that sounds pretty normal in any newly-raw piercing. And you're right, it is similar to a bruise because most likely the thing that's hurting you is some broken blood vessels. I have 8 ear piercings and I've experienced a similar bump on 5 of them. Try soaking your ears in a mixture of lukewarm water and sea salt. It would be an EXTREME coincidence for it to be cancerous, but if it lasts for longer than you think it should there's nothing wrong with asking a dr just in case.

I found a bump behind my ear. What is it?

A bump anywhere around pinna could be of any type. It CAN be a tumor.,Benign tumors: these do not spread to distant sites in the body and have limited capacity to invade directly in surrounding areas. These include keloids, angiomas, cysts, neurofibromas, warts, sweat and ceruminous gland tumors etc.Malignant tumors : they have tendency to spread to distant sites. It can go up to external auditory canal. Very common ones are squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma.I would suggest you to get it checked by an ENT, before it could worsen your condition.

Mushy lump behind my ear?

A few days ago I found a lump behind my ear that was mushy like a blister except maybe a little harder. That night it popped and this watery bloody stuff came out. It's fine now, but I was wondering what it could have been? Should I be worried?

Got hit in the head behind my right ear...Now have a bump?

You should be fine. Just take Advil and keep the ice on and get some rest. If you start not being able to see as well or forgetting about stuff you usually remember or become very lightheaded then you should go see a doctor.
