The nonstick coating of my rice cooker is scratched, what could I do?
Most people would very likely take the 'better safe than sorry approach' and replace the pot. It is worth noting, however, non-stick coating is non-toxic and, according to the FDA, can be safely passed through the body without being absorbed. I'd suggest using a plastic rice paddle. Now that it has started peeling, eventually, the scratches may get so bad that you'll have a sticking problem on your hands, at which point, I'd recommend replacing the inner pot (if that is possible).
