I Just Got A Tattoo 3 Days Ago Is It A Bad Idea To Get Another One Right Next To It

What can I do to fade my tattoo? I just got it done 2 days ago.

As someone else mentioned, why would you want to fade a new tattoo? But, if you really want to first and foremost it has to be completely healed, otherwise it will scab and crack, if it scabs and the parts fall off, this will also take with it part of the newly laid ink, making for a really shitty and ugly tattoo. (It will look like holes in the ink)As well if it is not healed and you attempt this you do risk getting an infection. In general tattoos, will naturally fade over time. But,By far the worst thing for any tattoo (black/grey or color) is unblocked sunlight. It will surefire fade your tattoo. This does almost beg the question, why didn’t you just have it laid in with a faded look? A lighter ink perhaps, or just a weathered style.Tattooing has evolved so much as of late, there really isn’t much a skilled tattoo artist cannot do.But yeah if you want to ruin it - unblocked sunlight.

I just got a new tattoo 2 days ago. After I washed it today, I patted it dry with a clean white paper towel and noticed the black ink on the paper towel. Is this normal, and will my tattoo fade?

Yes it's normal. Yes your tattoo will fade. All tattoos fade over time. Here's the thing: Your tattoo is a fresh wound. Your skin had been perforated many times. Your skin has been damaged. As you heal, you'll shed that damaged skin and that damaged skin has soaked up some ink so when you shed that skin, it's colorful.Your tattoo may be fine. Some spots may not heal well and need a touch up. That's fairly normal. Don't scratch your tattoo as it heals (the itchy days are coming!) and be gentle when you clean it. Keep up with your after care, it's legit important.Fresh tattoos are bolder and brighter than they will ever be. The part of the tattoo that's forever is a few layers down in your dermis and when fresh skin grows in, you'll be seeing the ink of your tattoo through that thin fresh layer. When it's fresh though, before you shed that top layer of damaged skin, there's ink all the way to the surface which is why it's so vibrant. It won't fade much in a week or a month or a year. I'll tell you right now though, side by side, my two week old tattoo is way more vibrant that the 14 year old tattoo on the same arm.Don't panic, unless the application of your tattoo was bad (which, let's face it, is a thing) what you're seeing is probably normal. If the application was bad and the artist caused trauma to the skin or didn't tattoo at the proper depth, you should be fine. If your artist did fuck it up, don't let them fix it. Find an artist who knows what they're doing. (Note: I'm not calling minor issues ‘fucking it up’, some minor touch up is normal. I've also known people whose 3 month old tattoo looked like a 10 year old tattoo that was missing half the color… bad tattoos do happen.)In a few weeks, you'll know where you are. Most likely, you're fine. If it's utterly jacked, things can frequently be fixed.

What is the latest day to get a tattoo before I leave on my cruise?

I have a tattoo artist drawing me up a design. He told me about a week (I dropped it off on Friday, April 24) but it wasn't a definite answer. I'm leaving on a cruise on May 31st, which will result in a lot of sun hitting my tattoo. Of course I will be taking extra care of it, but I want it to be healed enough in order to handle the sunlight for that week.

So what is the last day I should consider getting my tattoo if I'm leaving out on a cruise on May 31st? Also, any extra healing precautions I could take?

How many days should I wait to have sex after getting a tattoo on the forearm?

10 years.

Will wearing soccer cleats affect a tattoo on my foot 3 1/2 days after I get it?

I'm planning on getting a tattoo on my foot this Friday morning. I know tattoos scab up and that if the scab gets pulled off it affects the inking of the tattoo. I have soccer practice the following Tuesday in the late evening. By wearing my cleats, will the rubbing ruin the tattoo? Even if it's wrapped?

How long will a new tattoo be sore for?

Depending on who you got it from. And the size and area you have it put on. And the after care. 3 days. If you get it in a back room in someones house you hardly know. About 2 weeks. Rare occasion but talent is out there shop prices are rediculous and a few guys out there will hook you up for a quarter of the price. Just do your research. Some tattoos look nice when they are done but in reality they butchered you. Or holidays. Or all the true imperfections show after you take a good look at it. I put it like this if you have to put some leather in your mouth to bite on from pain and you have a trail of blood dripping from where he is working. Get the hell out of there

Is it bad to move a new tattoo around alot?

I just got a new tattoo and I was wondering if it was a bad idea for me to move it around alot? Will that cause the scabbing to come off faster when it does (i only got it 2 nights ago)...thanks

I took a bath after getting my tattoo?

It didn't wash off? wow! (bad attempt at being funny because we had a guy in the studio ask the other day if he could shower or if he needed to wait until it healed so the tattoo wouldn't wash off and the ink would have a chance to stain the skin good.... none of us was prepared to answer that without laughing)

Anyways, the directions we give at the studio is to wash the tattoo (with your hand, not with a washcloth) gently about 2 hours after it was done, and then to gently wash it each time you shower and pat it dry with paper towels, not a bath towel (bath towels whether you want to believe it or not, are a breeding ground for bacteria).

Generally it is not recommended to take a bath where your tattoo is submerged until it is through peeling.

A&D should only be used for the first 2 to 3 days and should only be a very light coating applied a few times a day, not constantly applied. After those few days switch to an unscented lotion, Curel Continuous Comfort is great, its really long lasting, hypoallergenic, and if you can remember to put it on in the morning and again late evening you're well covered for 24 hours.

Something to remember about tattoos is they look great for the first few days, then usually look like crap through the rest of the healing process, they can look faded (because of dead skin buildup), if the artist was heavy handed they can be mildly scabbed (should never be thick excessive scabbing), they may even look blurry during the healing process. Once they are healed and through peeling, they may be really shiny (it's a colorful scar, scars are usually shiny during the final healing stages).

If you are really worried about it go back to your tattoo artist and let them take a look at it. Us professionals in the modification business tell our clients to come back or call if they have questions of any kind because we mean it, we don't say it just to waste air.
