Job interview at kumon?

i had half of my job interview at kumon today.
I took the english portion of it and finished roughly around 25 minutes. i just wanted to know if anyone has a job there and how they did on their test. And is it likely to still get hired even if you feel you didn't do great on the test. Also, i had to take my test with this other guy who finished super fast, would that make me look bad?

I have received a job offer, but I have an interview next week for a position I prefer more. What should I tell the employers who accepted me?

I was lucky enough to go through this exact same situation three times in the last month. Here’s what I did and here’s what you should do too.I interviewed at Company E and within a week they got back to me and offered me the position. The recruiter also told me that they would need an answer fairly quickly and that they could not wait for longer than 10 days. I was honest with the recruiter and told him that I was supposed to interview at another company in 7 days’ time and that I could not give them an answer in 10 days and that I would need some more time. Simultaneously, I contacted Company A that I was supposed to interview with and told them that I had received my first offer and I would like it if they could expedite the decision making process after my interview with them. Company A accepted my request and after I interviewed with them onsite, they got back to me within 3 days (they had initially told me that they would need two weeks to get back to me with a decision) and offered me the position.Meanwhile, I also knew that I would be interviewing with Company U pretty soon and I wrote to their recruiter and told them that I have been extended an offer and that I am scheduled to have an interview with Company A within a week. Company U’s recruiter sped up the process from their end and scheduled my onsite interview four days after my interview with Company A. Two days after my interview with Company U, they extended an offer for me to join them. All this while, I was constantly keeping Company E (and the other two companies) within the loop and giving them updates about my status. This indicated to them that I was not disinterested in joining them and also gave them the signal that I was in high demand.By me being honest with all three places, I was able to expedite the process at two companies and get Company E to understand my situation. Within a span of 11 days, I had three offers in hand and now I have to make the important decision. But I think I know which one I am going to accept :)Best of luck with your interviews and in making a good decision and never allow a company to pressurize you into making a decision.

I just bombed an interview for a really, really good job opportunity. How do I stop beating myself up?

First, realize that the interviewers probably don't think you're an idiot, unless they are themselves. Smart interviewers know that good candidates have bad days. And it's often pretty obvious when nerves are the problem. At Google a substantial majority of candidates are rejected after interviews even though many of them could do the job. Many Googlers including me were previously rejected before being hired.More importantly, realize that there are tons of great jobs out there and you'll have years and years to find another job that's a great fit. It hurts to miss one that feels right, but I bet if you keep looking you'll find another one. And if you just wait one will come along!Remember, companies need employees just as much as you need a job. There are almost certainly a bunch of hiring managers out there just waiting for a resume like yours to cross their desk, and when they get your application it will make their day.

I had an interview yesterday. It went well. Today I got a reply from HR saying that the team really liked me and wants to hire me but I have to wait for a few weeks until the company gets to decide new work plans. What should be the ideal way to communicate smartly in this situation?

As Mike suggested, do respond saying how pleased you are at having been selected and how you are looking forward to working with the team.  However, and this is a caution - don't be surprised if the job disappears.  It is not usual to keep a candidate waiting - and means that you will take yourself off the job market.  Personally I would continue your job search and see if there is anything else out there that you would like.  At the very least this suggests poor planning on their part, and at worst it suggests that they might be waiting on another candidate and if they can't get that person then you are the back up plan.

I have a job interview but I have lip piercings. What should I do?

As a person with facial piercings and tattoos you should always take them out for an interview unless you know for certain that the job accepts it.

Unless your holes are new they won't close up that fast. If it's a tongue ring than it may close a little but those really are bad for your tongue anyway.

Do not make excuses for why you're wearing jewelery in your face or explain to them that they can be taken out. This is a big no,no... They called you because they have faith in your skills. don't distract them from your skills with personal decor. I'm 30 years old now and I've been pierced for 15 years. Get your foot in the door and then see where you stand.

**being that it is at Kohls, you should take them out.
I know this sounds strange but I clear fishing line when I had to remove mine before it was healed. I wore a lumbret - after a while my dentist noticed it causing trouble with my teeth and gum's so I took it out after 6 yrs. Since I'm too old, and work as a professional I switched to tattoos where I can hid them if needed. It's not fair but you will be judged as another poster mentioned.

*You deserve to have the job you desire. Surely wearing the stud to this interview is self sabotage- plenty of time to wear it after work..

I'm interviewing myself twice tomorrow- so good luck to you darling- remember they chose you because they have confidence in you.

Job Interview - Ever been turned away because of this?

I had a couple of job interviews today, similar companies, and I wore my usual - a pair of dark-wash jeans, a t-shirt and a dress shirt over top. I've always worn this kind of thing for interviews. This is what I usually wear for interviews. (Trust me, I don't look bummy).

When I got to the second interview, I was sitting in a waiting room, waiting for the interviewer. When she came in, this is exactly what she said, word for word - "Hello, love. Nice to meet you. I'm sorry to say that I'm going to have to refuse you, and there will be no more interviews because you're wearing jeans - that's our policy. And next time you go to an interview (whispered) dress up a little."

I just said "Are you serious?" Because I thought she was joking! I was expecting her to say "Come on in!" But she wouldn't even let me through the door.

I just felt really insulted because I'm not stupid - I know you're supposed to look nice for an interview. It was very condescending, as well as humiliating. I don't own a nice pair of pants, but I have plenty of nice jeans. It felt a little discriminatory, because it's basically saying, OUT LOUD, "I'm not hiring you simply because of the way you have dressed."

Any input on this?
