I Just Started A Job And I Want To Quit. I

How Do You Quit A Job You Just Started?

You are still in training, which technically is still the probationary period, and not entirely the job...yet....

I would say go to the boss as soon as possible (have a letter of resignation with you--leave out a date) and inform them that you feel this position is not a fit. Say the exact same thing in the letter. (Be nice. Smile a lot. If the boss probes you with more questions about leaving, just assure them that you don't feel in the long run that this position wouldn't be ideal. You do not need to tell them you got something else.) Let them know that you are WILLING to give two weeks notice, but would prefer to move on now. Technically, unless you use this company as a future reference, you don't need to really worry about putting them (a two week job) on your resume. Employers are pretty ok with gaps under a month. If they ask you about the two weeks, just inform them that you were still continuing your employment search at that time.

Good Luck.

How can I quit a job that I just started?

I recently have just started a job and I completely hate it. Yesterday was my first day and it's literally so boring. I can't stand it. I'm more of a hands on guy and all you do at this job is tell people what not to do and stand there. It's my first job and I just want to look elsewhere. What can I do or say?? When should I say it? Please just honest answers.

How to quit a job I just started?

Ok this might be a little long because I do want to provide full detail so I can get a good and justified response.
I graduated from college with a Bachelor's in Clinical Lab sciences and have been trying desperately to get a job in a pharmaceutical field. So I got an offer to work as a day porter (nicer way of saying janitor) in a pharmaceutical company and accepted it because I was desperate and thought this could be my way of getting my foot in the door.
About a week into my new job, I got a call for an interview with a chemical company to be their chemistry lab technician which lines up perfectly with what I had studied.
I don't have the interview yet til tomorrow and even then I'm not sure when or if they'd hire me. But hypothetically they do hire me, how can I quit my current job even though I just started a little over a week ago? Do I mention I got another offer, or I just use other reasons for quitting?
Reasons for justification: I'm currently still in training and won't be starting real work in my current job til May. My current job is kind of far at 40 minutes but traffic can easily bring it up to 50-60 minutes whereas this new place is only a 20 minute drive. This job only pays me $12-13 per hour but is a full time job whereas the new job would give me $15 for part time (which I don't mind at all).

This is my real first job kind of in my field out of college. And I don't want to be rude or anything; just want to part ways on good terms. Thanks guys!

How to quit a fast food job I just started?

Hey there. I just started working at McDonald's last Monday (the 14th) and I already want to quit. I've worked enough to earn about $400 and since I don't pay bills or anything I don't really need money for anything but the bike I wanted to buy with it.

They've had me cleaning the lobby for like 5 hours straight most days and doing gross things like washing inside the trash can houses and overall I just am not liking the job. I don't like having the two men managers telling me what to do all the time and since I seem to work at a corporate store there's always these irritating people hovering over my shoulder and asking how I am and being generally creepy and overbearing. I didn't want to work at McDonald's in the first place but my mom made me apply because I was looking for a job and she knows the manager.

Anyways, my friend invited me on a college tour for this weekend and I've been looking forward to it for ages, but I'm scheduled to work. I kind of want to quit on Friday since that's when they make the new schedules, but I really want to go on that college visit Saturday so I'd rather quit without doing the whole 2 weeks notice thing. Plus working there for another two weeks would just be really awkward. I'd like to just get paid for the days I've worked and get the heck out of there. Any idea how to do this? I'm not spending my Summer working in fast food and not doing anything on weekends. Thanks in advance!

How to quit a fast food job if you just started?

The best way to leave a job you just started is to tell the manager you got another offer at a job you prefer. It's believable because when you apply for jobs you tend to apply at several places. You will not owe them two weeks and they would probably rather just you left that day.
This work on all jobs not just fast food. I've seen people quit after a few days saying that the got a job offer closer to home, more money, better hours, etc. In every case they were asked to leave the same day.
BTW you don't have to say where your working, and don't give too much info on your new job or it will sound like a lie. But think ahead of what you will say if they ask.
Also, don't plan at working at that fast food place again.

How to quit a waitressing job I just started?

Tell them exactly this. There is nothing wrong with quitting a job if you find a better and newer one. Give them two weeks notice if possible, its polite and gives them time to find new staff to replace you. Tell your friend exactly that - you needed a job and now you have an even better one. a good friend wouldn't care, they would be happy actually. Its just a waitressing job, its not very important or like you and spending your whole life in it. no one really does that or wants to. Waitressing is the worse.

secondly, (especially if you do it politely) after quitting, they have no right to not let you go to the bar. i still go to a cafe i worked at last year.you are a paying customer, you havent broken any rules or laws, it might feel a bit akward, but you have to get over that. Simply quit and come back if you want, they wont make you stay, they have to let you quit if you want to. I doubt a waitress would be offered more to stay unless you were their best or something, waitresses are easy to replace.
