I Need A Good Scary Movie That Will Really Get Me Thinking

I'm a horror movie buff looking for an extremely scary movie to watch?

if ur a real horror movie buff, i'd imagine you've already seen the scariest

the original exorcist was good, and the sequel (with Pizuzu) ... poltergeist , the omen, the sixth sense

then there's really good horror movies (mostly zombie in my case) that didn't scare me , but were good ... the dawn of dead remake, 28 days later, 30 days of night etc

Is watching a scary movie with your crush a good idea?

Basically im going to the cinema with my bestfriend and her boyfriend and me and my crush have been invited along. I just thought will this be a good chance for me to cuddle up to him? because i cant stand scary films:(
Me and crush get along really well too, and sexual things have happened between us loads! Is this another chance!?

How can I stop getting scared after watching a horror movie?

Yes. I use these two techniques personally. I'm so shit scared that when I need to pee in middle of the night I probably need someone outside the bathroom door keeping a watch for me (just in case those fictional characters were real and would come to kill me at night while peeing. Haha yes, mind doesn't work by logic at night.)Technique No. 1 -So the technique number 1 is to watch it in mute. Unmute when dialogues are being said. But keeping it on mute will allow you to be not that scared when something or someone suddenly appears.Sound effects of these movies make it more scary.Another psychological hack with this is that watching it on mute won't let you completely submerge in the scary atmosphere, you'd be able to differentiate between what's a real world and fiction.Hence, you'd be way more less scared.Technique No. 2 —So this may sound stupid but it works. So be with me here. I use it. It does help.Step 1 - Make your friends or family watch it with you.Step 2 - When you start feeling scared, make jokes on the movie, make fun of it.The psychology behind this is to ridicule it that your brain knows it's not supposed to take the scary movie seriously. And hence, to not get scared.I hope this helped you. Happy Scary-loween!

What horror movies scared you so much that you could barely sleep?

HalloweenIt was late 2017.My friends and I were going through a marathon of horror films: Death Note (2017), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), Halloween (1978), and The Thing (1982).The first one we saw was Death Note. Everyone laughed at the inappropriate score and Nat Wolff’s inability to act.The second one we saw was A Nightmare on Elm Street. It was very enjoyable thanks to the legendary Robert Englund and one-liners like “No running in the hallways”; however, it was a typical cheesy slasher story, nothing more. Then we got to Halloween.Never before had I felt so anxious watching a movie, scared that a man, a simple human man, was watching from behind the corner or from the inside of someone’s home.Never had I seen a horror movie that balanced the craft of filmmaking with the “art” of jump scares. It was unsettling. It’s strange describing Halloween like this; the story itself was no different than what happened in Nightmare: a young woman becomes the Final Girl when most if not all her friends get murdered by a serial killer.Yet Halloween was so different than A Nightmare on Elm Street.Instead of evil being portrayed as exaggerated and sadistic, evil in Halloween is portrayed as subtle, having no reason to kill other than to simply do it.The fear comes from the idea that this kind of evil is out there, watching you and every single step you take, no matter the time of day. On the day, you meet this evil, you won’t even know it’s there.Until it’s too late. After we watched The Thing that night and everyone went home, that was when I realized that, even though The Thing will always appeal to my tastes and be one of my favorite horror films of all time, I will always find Halloween to be the one that gets under my skin, the one that makes me terrified of going outside by myself, the one that makes me think…“Who is that man at the end of the street?”

Has anyone saw 'The hills have eyes'? Is it scary?

It made me jump several times, and it's pretty gory- lots of blood and death. I think it's a good choice as long as the people you invite can handle scary/bloody movies.

Why is "Psycho" considered a scary movie?

I've seen all these lists and ratings that say "Psycho" was one of the most frightening movies ever. Particularly the "shower scene". I'm no expert but that really wasn't scary to me. I can understand years ago that it might have been but why is it still getting good ratings? A good zombie flick like Land of the Dead, a gore fest like Saw or even the psychological thrillers like I am Legend seem so much better than "OMG that chick got stabbed while she was in the shower." Can someone enlighten me?
