Monroe Doctrine?
The Monroe Doctrine was the decree that gave European imperial powers notice that the U.S. would see to the well-being of the Americas and they would see to the well-being of their hemisphere. It didn't boot anyone out as some above claim. It merely gave them notice that there were to be no further colonization of the Americas. It made the U.S. the police of the Western Hemisphere and eventually would lead to our becoming the policeman of the world. Roosevelt (Teddy) would use that as an excuse to expand our role in world affairs via the Roosevelt Corollary.
What would happen if Mexico belonged to the Russian camp and demanded its territory back? Would the USA follow the doctrines of non-interference?
The Monroe Doctrine would be invoked, which doesn't allow for any European influence in the Western Hemisphere.In the 1860s, Napoleon III attempted to establish a pro-French regime in Mexico, leading to the French intervention in Mexico France was joined by a host of European nations, notably Austria and Belgium, as Emperor and Empress of the pro-French regime were Maximilian of Austria (brother of Emperor Franz Joseph) and Carlota of Belgium (sister of King Leopold II). Britain, Spain and even Egypt supported the Second Mexican Empire. The USA did not tolerate it and supported Benito Juarez, who was in opposition to French military intervention. As soon as victory was achieved in the Civil War, America supplied Juarez with arms and funds, forcing the French to withdraw, and Maximilian was executed.The United States also invoked the Monroe Doctrine in the Venezuelan crisis of 1902–03 when Britain, Germany and Italy imposed a naval blockade against Venezuela after it failed to pay its debt. Teddy Roosevelt sent the US Navy to force the Germans to back down, threatening war. After the crisis was settled, Roosevelt introduced the Roosevelt Corollary which was an extension of the Monroe Doctrine, justify US intervention in the Western Hemisphere.In the Cold War, the United States repeatedly invoked the Monroe Doctrine, against any Soviet influence in the Americas, from Cuba to Guatemala to Grenada to Chile.Should Russia even attempt to form an alliance with Mexico, the United States would never tolerate it, for better or worse.
What factors influence gametogenesis?
Major factors that influence gametogenesis include hormones, or rather, the coordination of different hormones in the body, especially the sex hormones. In males, testosterone is the key sex hormone. It is primarily for gametogenesis (sperm) and works hand-in-hand with the androgen binding factor (ABF), which is responsible for concentrating testosterone to where the sperm are produced, thereby nourishing them for development. There is also the follicle-stimulating hormone, which can also initiate spermatogenesis. Temperature plays a very major role in spermatogenesis. Sperm cannot be produced at body temperature. This is why males have a scrotum so that the testes could lie outside the main body by descending outward onto the pouch-like structure (the scrotum). Dietary deficiencies (such as vitamins B, E and A), anabolic steroids, metals (cadmium and lead), x-ray exposure, dioxin, alcohol, and infectious diseases will also adversely affect the rate of spermatogenesis. In females, the coordination of the different sex hormones also play a major role in gametogenesis. Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) instructs the follicle cells in the ovaries to produce estrogen, which in turn nourishes the developing oocyte to undergo meiosis, among many other things. When the oocyte is mature enough to be released from the ovary into the oviduct (process called ovulation), signals are sent to the brain to produce Luteinizing Hormone (LH), which instructs the ovary to convert the remaining follicle into what is called a corpus luteum. LH also instructs the same cells that produced estrogen before ovulation to now produce progesterone.
