I Quit High School Football What Should I Do Now

Should I quit my high school football team?

So I'm in the offseason of my sophmore year, and I'm thinking of quitting my high school team. We recently changed the whole football staff. I have played football for 5 years, and now I feel like quitting. I hate going to practices(which are against CIF rules: they are mandatory and no one in my area are doing these things). Some of my friends have quit, and many others say they will. I feel like I will regret it soon. I've hated my whole high school football career. I don't think it's fun anymore. I feel like it's just work. I don't want a scholarship for football. I don't even want to play it in college. I just play it for fun. Thank you for reading this. Please reply and help. I know you can't make my decision I just want to get advice on what I should do. Thank you!

Should I quit high school football?

OK im about to go into my sophmore year playing football.

I played as freshman on the Freshman football team and I played receiver.
I did not start, i was a 2nd string receiver. I did start a few games do to the starter not being able to play.

But this year Im a 3rd string receiver on JV. My coach (who is the head coach, Athletic Director, receivers coach) doesnt really like me that much. He bitches at me for ever thing i do wrong. Its almost funny. He will be like "hey go get me that ball over there (its across the entire field) on the hop, on the hop".

He critisizes every little thing i do. IF the quarterback throws me a terrible pass and i dive and dont catch it hes like "come on catch the ball". He critisizes my routes saying i dont run them very good. Pretty much if something is not perfect, he has to say something.

We have had 20 practices (2 adays are over now that school is about to start) and he has given me 2 compliments/non-negative things.

And they are "good spot". "that a-boi, good catch". thats all he has said that hasnt been negative in 20 practices.

Our practices including meeetings last almost 4 hours. so instead of getting my *** bitched out i could be chilling at home.

I have a feeling i wont play much this year, if any at all. And it doesnt help that basically the head coach/AD/Receiver coach doesnt really like me.

I like playing and i want to keep playing. But I have to wonder if its worth it?

Do yall think its worth all this **** to stand on the sidelines. My motto has been "If I dont start, it doesnt matter". Because it is true if you dont start its not fun. hell people that start even say its no fun just because of all the work you put in for a 2 month season

Should i quit or just stick with it. If all my friends didnt play i definately would quit
???

Should I play high school football?

It depends.Whether or not you should try out for the football team depends upon:Your reasons for trying out in the first place. If you are committed to putting in the time and effort to help the team, then by all means go for it. If you are interested in merely the novelty of being a girl on the team, then it probably won’t go well. I suspect that the reality is somewhere in between these extremes.Your willingness to stick it out. As with any sport, football has its highs and lows, and your success will be determined by how you deal with both, particularly the lows.Your willingness to put up with the old guard thinking that “girls shouldn’t play football.” Hopefully you will have teammates that will leap to your defense, too, but you’d be naive to think that you won’t have to deal with some of this nonsense.Competitiveness for positions. Assuming from your notes that you haven’t played much organized football previously, you could be at a serious disadvantage as a high school junior. Coaches, if given a choice, are more likely to go with a proven commodity rather than risk going out on a limb with an inexperienced player. Even if another player didn’t start playing until high school, that’s still two more years experience than I would guess you have. All in all, I would suggest trying out for a kicker or punter spot. Kicking the ball is much simpler than playing a more full-time position, but it can still go a long way to helping the team.Alternatively, to play another position, you would have to quickly get a handle on all sorts of terminology and plays, as well as grow comfortable with the organized chaos that ensues after every snap of the ball.Good luck to you!

Should I quit football my senior year of high school?

Im a junior and play on varsity and i am in the same boat as you. Except i get Alot of playing time and they rely on me to be there. I have arthritis and i really cant stand the kids on my team. At the end they say family on three and in my head i am like **** you. I cant stand any of you. Your all ******'s. I moved here from the city about 4 years ago and became like awesome because im in a town. I really want to play but then i don't. Like i feel like if i quit then everyone will look down on me like im a pussy. I'm just like **** it but, like today im like sick to my stomach and i'm just exhausted and think im going to call the coach and tell him the situation. but, i'm not gonna quit. Because quitting is easy and fighting and playing is the hard part. If i were you i wouldn't quit i just stick it out. The first 3 weeks is the hardest part and that's what i am thinking. After running camp and my retarded 7 hour practice once every week. I only have one left and then i am in the clear so with that said you should just stick it out. You only got until november and then your done.

I miss high school football so much?

Ive been playing football since i was 5 yrs old. I played for my high school and was a 3 yr starter. It was great i loved the game and played hard every friday night. I played hard for my school, my teammates, and for everyone who every played here. Now that footballs over i miss it so much. The brotherhood, the anticipation of goin out to play on friday night, the pep rallys. All that stuff. Plus i was the man during football season. Now i just finished my senior year im goin off to college unknown Iby people. Even if i make a lot of friends at college i will still miss football more then anything. I'd give anything to play football again. (and kids who post dont say play football in college because im going to the university of Texas). Is it me or am i losin my mind about this. I keep thinkin about it and its drivin me crasy. High school was like my glory days now everyone leaves and what is once knew and did is gone.

Should I quit high school?

No!Please don't ever consider asking this question. Don’t ask this question! Why? It's obvious:You’re gonna lack the knowledge others are gonna have in high school. You probably won't be able to get any decent job opportunities in the future: they’ll definitely look at your education background. Someone who quitted high school? Versus someone who had gotten through high school and then university and the degrees and all those? Ask yourself, who will you employ?I swear, you’ll get bullied out there if you have poor education background. People will think: he doesn't have a good education background. He’s probably dumb. And then they’ll look down on you, step all over you, start mocking, teasing, and bullying you.Think again. How many people out there aren't even getting education opportunities? And then: why does someone who have every opportunity to go to school, get a good education give up his chance of doing that? Isn't that kind of wasted? Why waste your opportunity so easily when some people in the world don't even have the chance to get an education? They’ll definitely want it.Look, I’m sorry for my harsh tones and criticism. You don’t have to listen to me. Just offering some advice. I guessed I got a bit worked up, but it's important to bring this across. Don't regret your decisions in the future. Your decisions now will definitely affect your future. If you decide to quit high school, it’ll definitely have a bad impact. There might be things stressing you in school, but don't give up. Continue believing in yourself.

Should I quit football?

Ok so I wanted to quit football during the season but I didn't quit to see if I still like the sport, but now I'm in the off season of my sophomore year and I really really really don't love game anymore, the only thing keeping me from quitting is I might lose friends and my parents will be disappointed in me and just call me lazy but in reality I just don't love the sport.Id rather focus on school and body building and losing weight but the problem with that is they think I won't do it they think if I quit I will just play video games all day. They think I'm lazy because I didn't try in football and the reason I didn't try is because I hate it.So please help me out.I don't want any of those trolls who just call me a pussy on this page.

Should i quit JV football?

Hell naw don't quit. The only way to get better is to be on the field and in the weight room, and the best way to do that is to be on the team. Plus when your skills improve you might be riding the bench on the varsity squad because I'm sure the coach will remember that you quit last season. It took me til senior year to get any playing time, but when I did I rushed for over 1000 yards as 2nd string, and my team sucked. So if you love the game stick with it, you'll get better and get your chance to shine.
