Why won't any of my email accounts send emails replying to ads on craigslist with my mobile app?

Ok so I'm always on my craigslist mobile app and am constantly wanting to reply to ads. I have continuously tried to email people with their "anonymous" email address, but nobody ever replies. I click the "reply by email" button on the mobile app. I have sent well over 30 emails to people from multiple email accounts from in the past few months trying to see if anybody will reply, or if it was just a temporary problem. I've recently found out that nobody replies because they never even got my email!! I have heard rumors about craigslist blocking gmail accounts in specific, and only gmail accounts, because there are too many scammers that use google accounts. But I'm not sure if this is true. I use my mobile regular email app for the I phone that came with it automatically, I didn't download it from the app store. I've also heard talk about this not working right. I have had it for a while then it just stopped sending emails through craigslist. It will show up in my "sent" mail showing that I did sent it, but then when I go check my inbox it says something about checking my settings for my account. All of my settings an account information is correct. I have even tried making completely different email accounts using gmail, hotmail and yahoo. I will put them all on the same original mail app that the i phone automatically came with, but now none of them work. I've even tried posting an ad on craigslist, replying to myself and seeing if it sent to my email an it doesnt!! Yes I have also tried turning off and reseting my phone. I have no idea what to do at this point and really need it fixed because I use email everyday!! Please somebody help!!

I found out that someone was trying to hack into my ebay account and ebay sent the ip....?

I would be very surprised if it really was eBay sending you that information. It is much more likely to be the hacker trying a bit of reverse psychology on you.

He pretends to be eBay telling you that they have detected hacking activities and that you should click the link in the email and log in to verify your account. The link will actually go to the hacker's site that is set up to look just like eBay where he will record your username and password. He will then use the username and password to access your real eBay account. The IP address mentioned is most probably just something random he plucked out of thin air.

This kind of malicious activity is known as "phishing". there are a couple of things you can do to protect yourself from having your password "phished":

1. Don't click on links sent to your in an email unless you were expecting the email. (e.g You just signed up at a forum and this is the confirmation email)

2. Always type the site name into your browser or use a bookmark.

3. Use the "suspected forgery" feature of Firefox to warn you of potentially malicious sites. This can be enabled under Tools -> Options -> Security.

As a final note, here is some extra information about IP addresses and domain names:

DNS is the system that translates domain names (like "ebay.com" into IP addresses (66.135.205.13). Each IP address should have a reverse lookup which translates the IP address back into a domain name. The domain you included in the question (131.sub-72-122-18.myvzw.com) is a common reverse IP address naming scheme for ADSL and dialup ranges owned by ISPs. The original IP address was 72.122.18.131 which appears to be owned by the ISP Verizon Wireless.

Knowing someone's IP address doesn't really give you very much information. There are four people sharing the house I live in and we all have the same IP address as far as eBay is concerned. There are 2000 people at my work who all share the same IP address. What's more, at my house, we get a new IP address every couple of days.

If eBay really are sending out emails accusing IP addresses of attempting to hack into people's accounts then they should be ashamed of themselves.

If I have someone's email address, how can I find out about their social media accounts? Aside from just doing a Google search, how can I see their "online footprint"?

If you go to most online services there are ways to intercept a username using a MITM attack if you have the person's email address (you may be subject to one of these if you, for example, get an email that someone is requesting a new password for one of your social media accounts). This can allow the attacker to reset your password and take over your accounts in certain circumstances, often having to do with malware information or keylogger or other attacks in tandem. It's probably more aggressive than you are contemplating -- I certainly hope it is! -- but it seemed like posting the extreme and criminal case might give a good point of reference against which less but still creepy, stalker-y options could be evaluated for their relative "merits." ;)

My email account keeps returning mail as unsendable?

Without seeing the full headers the only thing that can be assumed is some of the following.

1. The email address is invalid - user you are replying to may have an incorrect "reply to address" verify the address you see is legit "user@isp.com"

2. Your ISP/Mail provider is "RBL'd" - that means someone on your ISP or your provider is or has been spamming and the person you are sending mail to has an RBL/Relay checking system on the mail server they use.

3. Your mail isn't configured with a valid email address/reply address.

4. Verify your using your ISP's smtp service and not an old smtp or local gateway

If you are using a popular web mail such as yahoo, gmail or hotmail make sure your account isn't frozen or blocked - create a tech support ticket if needed.

TO better answer your question you need to paste the error message and headers (not the email content/message) and then someone can trace the message and give you a sure fire answer.
