I Think I Might Be Anorexic

I think i might be anorexic?

im 45kg (around 100 pounds) and 165cm tall (like, 5'4)
well, i used to be one of those naturally super-skinny girls, when i was smaller. even though im only 14 now :/
i never really thought about my body much, until one day my moms friend said i had "filled out nicely" and didnt look so 'anorexic' anymore.. i dont know why, but i reacted really strangely to that.. ever since i've been eating less and less to try and be the same as i was then :/
its not like i've lost any weight though. in fact, no matter how much or little i eat, i dont gain weight.
i've been 100 pounds for like 3 years now O.o and i havent changed jeans size in like, 4 years.
bu i still eat less and less, mainly cause i feel i should.. like, i dont feel right not being skinny.
what should i do?
i cant really talk to anyone about it..

I think I might be anorexic.?

you aren't anorexic. anorexics count calories constantly, think more than 500 is too many a day when the average person eats 2000-3000 a day. it's a mental disorder. you sound like you just have a fast metabolism.

anorexia is a mental disorder that causes someone to strive to be thin to the point where it's underweight and unhealthy. they starve themselves to the point where their bones stick out. they look at pictures of thin women and men who they wish to look like and even if they're thinner than that they don't see that. they look in the mirror and see someone with fat everywhere. they don't do it just to be thin, not always. a lot do it for the control. for the ability to be able to control something, anything.

I think i might be Anorexic?

No, I do not think that you are Anorexic.

There is a difference between being Anorexic and having a fast metabolism - which is what I think you have got.

Anorexics are often unaware or in denial that they have a problem.

Not eating your sandwiches does not necessarily mean that you have an Eating Disorder. It depends why you do not eat them.

Do you not feel hungry ? Or you do deny yourself the privilege to eat because you think you are overweight ? Think about it.

Before diagnosing you, a lot of other factors need to be taken into consideration, such as how you feel mentally and what you eat throughout the period of the day.

Anorexia is more of a mental thing rather then a physical thing, like a lot of people think. It is only when it reaches its worst stages that it becomes noticeably obvious. One of the first symptoms is the feeling of being fat when you are not. The second sign that follows is taking action to deter those feelings by losing weight in an unhealthy way and becoming calorie obsessed. An anorexic will restrict what they eat and deny themselves the privilege of eating when they are hungry, in order to avoid gaining weight. They may also exercise excessively, to the point of physical exhaustion.

I think I might be anorexic?

oh honey...
i am really sorry.
i know how tough it is. i had a close friend that was anerexic. please, you must get help. my friend passed away after she was going through that rough time from low blood pressure. her heart just stopped beating because it had no fuel. i am telling u now, i do not want to hear any more sad stories that have resulted from another eating disorder. if you do not want your parents knowing, gaining muscle back is the only way to fix the hole that u have dug. u need to make sure to eat every meal of every day and throw snacks in with it. that means a large breakfast lunch and dinner along with healthy snacks. if you are still worried that u will be fat or whatever, gain healthy muscle and definatly not fat by eating nutritious foods such as meat, milk products, cheese, and sandwitches. peanuts are very healthy for you and will help with bringing up your protein level. these are the best ways to gain all of your weight back but still stay very thin.
if you are brave enough, tell your parents. i have the most strict parents ever, but i know that they would want me to go and tell them if i ever needed help like this. anyone would rather go get help for their daughter than to see them die right in front of them on a hospital bed.
hope u do good kid =].

I think I may be anorexic!?

I was researching something on wikipedia when i noticed an article on anorexia and I thought it seemed interesting so I checked it out. But once I read the symptoms, side effects, and how to determine anorexia, i swear my heart skipped a beat because all of the descriptions seemed to match my behavior, how I feel, and i think. For example I tend to over exercise, have a low self esteem of my body image and weight, am afraid to gain any weight and of becoming obese; mind you from what my physical says, I'm at a healthy weight; 115lbs and I'm 5 ft 2 in. Also depriving myself of meals when I feel like I haven't exercised enough, criticizing my appearance and weight, not having enough energy to do some things, not excepting the fact that my weight is healthy, depression, mood swings, dizziness, and sensitive to talk of body image or weight. Does it sound like I'm anorexic and if so then what should i do about? I mean if its true I've been this way for 2 years. I always feel like my weight isn't normal and that its too high, and if i gain anymore it'll lead to me being over weight then being obese. Compared to most of the girls where I live its hard to except the way I look. What should I do?

The ideal weight is about 140lbs!!!! That doesn't make you fat, AT ALL!!!!!!!! Im in high school, a 3 year and I weight about 148 lbs and im not fat!!!! Trust me I eat like a GUY when im really hungry, ya my friends make fun of me, but you know what I look better than them because I work out alot also. If I didn't work out I would look just like them AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You neeeeeddd to eat until your body is content other wise your body will eat its self alive, at least try eating until you feel full and your body will slowly grow an appetite, but don't over eat either!!! If your full, YOUR FULL!! If you eat just a little bit everyday you should be ok, and your not fat trust me, I have a friend who looks exactly like you according from your description. Ya your parents are mad because they see their beautiful child is starving herself, when she dosent need too!!
Your period also changes with your eating habbits, if you ate alot you bleed alot, but that also means that your body is healthy if you dont belive me ask a doctor, every girl is different w/ their period, if your is hravy its heavy! and? If you work out it might lighten up, I WOULD KNOW, I've gone to the gm and i skipped my period, my mom is a doctor I asked if it was normal, she said yes.

Help????????? I think I might be anorexic?

Anorexia is a psychological disorder, and some people are more prone to it than others. Often people who suffer from it feel they are trying to make the person they ARE into the person they think others want to SEE. This belief about your perfect child status and the pressure of meeting the perceptive standard for your family could very well be at the core your your problem. Sadly many families are more worried about their daughters being attractive and socially accepted than they are about them being healthy and happy, as if the later were dependent upon the former.

The question is this: does this happen frequently or is this just a recent feeling you are having. A sudden loss of appetite can be a sign of a number of illnesses. Or do you have weight issues and are feeling pressure to conform? You might want to approach your parents and tell them your stomach has been bothering your and you've lost your appetite, that won't freak them out like saying "Mom I'm and anorexic." At the doctors be honest and hopefully he will determine a good path for you.

If it is anorexia, then the doctor can work with your mother in designing a heathly low fat eating program for you. Anorexia is about personal control. Following a set eating program allows you to satisfy the need for control by maintaining or losing weight in a healthy productive fashion.

Help?????? I think i might be anorexic?

I've had anorexia too. It's important that you talk to someone about it--if you don't feel comfortable talking to your parent, then talk to your school counselor about it, or to an adult that you feel comfortable with (maybe an aunt, or an adult friend, or a teacher).

But I wouldn't decide right away not to tell your parents, because they won't necessarily react like you're afraid they will. Fortunately, anorexia is something most people know about, and your parents will know how serious it is. For all you know, they might already be worrying that you have it but not know how to talk to you about it! I've never heard anyone say they weren't nervous about talking to their parents about something like this, so don't feel alone! I was really scared too, but my parents helped me see a therapist, and now I'm doing much better. I was also always the perfect child and got yelled at when I wasn't--that's common with women with anorexia.

So I would talk to someone as soon as possible, so you won't have to worry about this all by yourself. You'll feel a lot better after you're not the only person carrying around that fear. If you're still not sure what to do, here's a number you can call--it's the girls' and boys' town national hotline. I've called them before when I've had different problems, and they've always been really sweet and helpful. 1-800-448-3000. It's totally confidential, you don't even have to tell them your name if you don't want to. And they can help you decide what to do. Here's the website, if you want to go there: http://www.girlsandboystown.org/hotline/...

Hang in there--things will get better! *hugs*
