Is it possible for 2 different people to have the same email address?

technically not, but as experience i can say more than two email ID can exist with same spelling. i create my gmail account 10 years before but now two other person have same id and i am getting their mailing, hope so they are getting copy of my mails too. I identify and inform them personally and complaint to google many times but nothing changed.this problem exist with not just initially but even last part of mail id can invite mails from other IDs, mostly if it is common or fluent segment of names.

How can I get rid of sexually explicit emails showing up in my in-box (and bulk if possible)?

You have some very good advice here from others members, so here is my take on it:

Set up email filters, junk email filters, spam filters. Almost all email programs have some BASIC email filter you can add or edit. You did not list your email program or if you have web based email thru a broadband connection like cable or DSL so I can not give you more specific help.

Go to HELP on your mail account. type in words like filter, block, spam, etc to help point you in the right direction of how YOU want to handle the offensive emails.

BUT DO NOT... DO NOT UN-Subscribe..it only validates that you are reading it and validates your email address for more.

The easiest and quickest way is to block ALL emails except from those you want to add to the SAFE or ALLOW List. This way you will know that only THOSE emails will get through to you.

Also, you can delete that email account and start another one. if you choose to do that... create 2 then..one for personal correspondence only...Friends and family who you trust not to add your name to any group email chain letter. and then create another email for subscribing to email lists and entering contests or getting more information form Manufacturers on the web.

Why doesn't my Yahoo! Mail auto-complete recipient email addresses anymore?

When I used to create emails @ Yahoo! Mail, I could type in the first few letters of a person's name in the "To:" field and it would pop up a list of matching persons in my contacts. Now, not only does it not do that anymore, but it also asks me if I want to add the addresses of the people I sent emails to to my contacts after sending them an email (and they are already in my contacts). This has been going on for a few days now and I am about ready to give up on Yahoo! mail.

Why is someone else's picture showing up for my email address when I compose an email? My profile is private with no picture.?

The images that are displayed along with auto-suggested email addresses are pulled from the Yahoo Profile of Yahoo addresses or the Facebook picture of those accounts, if you have your Yahoo account connected to your Facebook account. This is most likely where this photo is being pulled from. I recommend double checking that Facebook picture as a first step. Please let us know if you continue to see any inaccurate photos listed alongside suggested addresses. We would be happy to investigate further.

For more information on the auto-suggest feature I also recommend taking a look at our overview help article 'Auto-Suggest in Yahoo Mail'. You can find the link to it here:

Why do unkown address pop up when I choose a, b, c etc. when composing an email?

Unknown addresses of people show up when I am composing an email. I type a letter in the TO block and I see unknown addresses in the list. These addresses are not in my contact list. Is there a way to permanently block these unknown address from popping up in the address list when composing an email? I "X" them out only to get another unknown address to pop up in its place. I suspect some of these addresses are from some of my Contacts.

When someone composes an email and send it out to via "their" contact list isn't there some way of
preventing these "other" addresses from being added to my list?

I don't know if this is some sort of Hijack within Yahoo mail that is occuring.

Yahoo mail needs to explain this situation in the Help section
