I Wanna Start To Draw

Want to start drawing at 15?

Okay, you don't really need any books, unless your quickest way of learning is through books. For me I just cannot learn from books or videos, I learn by observation and memorization. I look at pictures of what I want to draw and I copy it free-handedly, not tracing. You can use anything you'd like, but I would start off with pencil (my pencil is my best friend! XD) since you can erase it and all that. Don't worry about making lines super straight by using a ruler or whatnot, unless you're better that way, as I'm better if I don't use anything and just draw. If you want to do pictures with deep meaning and emotions, abstract painting could be a good thing to do as well. I started drawing animals before I got good at people, but that's just me, for others it was opposite. Don't worry anything technical, because drawing isn't about being right on the money like math or anything like that. Don't stress if you can't get it right the first or second time, that's normal. When you will start getting good is something nobody will know, since it all depends on how dedicated you are, how fast you learn, and how much drawing talent you may already have. Hope this helped you! :D

Im 16 and want to start drawing more professionally, is it to late?

It is never too late. There will always be people better then you but you've got to keep practicing, and believe me your "rubbish" will turn into beautiful pieces of art work in just a few years. I heard somewhere that the really good artists were the crappy ones who never gave up. Trust me don't give up on drawing, I started a couple years ago, and I look back at my old drawings and see the huge improvements. Of course it will take a little bit of time (because you don't just wake up suddenly and be fantastic at drawing) but I've seen people in there late 20's starting to draw. Taking art classes are a great way to improve and also a great way to find people with similar interests. Just because your 16 doesn't mean it's to late to start drawing. If you really want to be good at digital drawing get a tablet! (not like a Samsung galaxy thing but stuff like bamboo tablets) I can not stress this enough, ALMOST EVERY DIGITAL ARTIST HAS A TABLET. I really hope this helps, artist to artist :D.

I suck at drawing...but I want to be an artist..HELP?!?

You need to concentrate hard to be able to draw well. It's not something you do without a lot of thinking, comparing, proportioning and so on. Choose a subject. Start by positioning the subject in the centre of the page. You could just draw a shape to start with. Then draw everything else in relation to that. Like say you draw a human face as a circle, then position the eyes about a third down the face, the nose in the middle, the mouth about a third up from the end. you need to study the subject carefully to get the positioning of all the bits accurate. Like where is it in relation to the top and bottom, left and right. Get an exact position and size for all the parts. Keep adding to it and refining it. Rub out as much as you like to get it to look better. It oes take time to build up skill if you have not drawn before. you need to study how each object you draw carefully.
If you find you still can't draw after all this, maybe you could put your ideas into a descriptive essay.
