Makeup on rough skin?

Hey guys,
I'm 17 and have always been really unconfident (is that a word? haha) when it came to my skin (face). I have tried primers and different makeups, exfoliants, face masks to no avail.

My pores are obvious over my nose and beside my nose, I have fine lines around my eyes and my skin seems to just be textured and uneven looking all around. I have some red scarring around my nose and chin, and darker areas under my eyes, aswell as freckles. Not wearing makeup is not an option, as I am even more uncomfortable with myself when I'm nude.

I hate standing too close to people because I fear what they are thinking of how my makeup and skin looks.

I would really love makeup suggestions, foundation routines or products that may have helped those that have a similiar problem? I really, really appreciate any help! There's nothing I would like more than to look in the mirror and have smoother, prettier skin.

Thanks so much,
Lilly :-)

How do you get treated when wearing makeup vs. when you're not?

I have been told several times that I look younger without makeup. When my mother was in the hospital about a year ago I had no energy to put on makeup, so I would visit her ‘au naturale’. Every nurse that came in asked me which school I went to - and they didn't mean university, they meant high school. They all thought this 34 year old woman was a high-schooler.You would think this would keep me away from the makeup, right? Hell no - I enjoy wearing it, and it makes me actually feel like an adult. Especially with the response I get when I'm not wearing it.EDIT: Due to the large number of comments asking for more photos, please check out my answer to: Krysta Storer (クリスタストーラー)'s answer to What do you look like when you get out of bed vs. when you leave the house? Here I am fresh faced with no makeup on:And here I am with full makeup (just for fun - I even stenciled on a fake beauty mark!)I will point out that the picture above is an extreme example of me in makeup. Usually I wear about half this much for my daily routine.Wow- I didn't expect such a reaction to my photo where I thought I was looking glam! (I honestly selected the first two photos in my phone that were non makeup vs makeup) Here is a photo of how I look on a more day-to-day basis:Update: thank you for all the compliments saying that I look better without makeup! I certainly wasn't trying to come off as fishing for compliments, so I just wanted to expand on this a little…I enjoy makeup. For me it is fun to create different looks with it, and I enjoy the fact that I can change my appearance with a little mascara or eyeliner. It makes me feel like I am more put together, and I feel more like a member of society. On the other hand, I also enjoy not wearing makeup! It is much simpler to get ready in the morning if I don't have to put it on. So dear reader - while I will most likely not stop using makeup, I will take your kind words to heart and maybe spend one or two days a week ‘au naturale’ :)Update: Bonus Photos! I have been scouring my phone for more photos of makeup vs none, so here are two more! This is a before and after of myself after getting a professional makeover, complete with false eyelashes:

What is your skincare routine?

Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean cleanser morning and night.

John Masters Jojoba Ginseng or Kiss My Face Jojoba Mint facial scrub 2-4 mornings a week.

Desert Essence Tea Tree pads, witch hazel or rose water as toner morning and night.

John Masters Moroccan Clay mask or very thick layer of PLAIN milk of magnesia 1-2 nights a week.

Desert Essence Blemish Touch stick to acne spots.

Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean oil control lotion, pure Aloe Vera gel or Boscia oil free Daily Hydration SPF15 as morning moisturizer.

Alternating between Desert Essence/Jason Natural pure Jojoba oil and MSM Lotion Orange Ylang Ylang as night moisturizer.

I use only cruelty and paraben free products that suit my sensitive, oily, acne prone skin. These work well to keep it under control and to keep it looking fresh not dull or puffy, pores tightened, rarely get acne anymore.

How do i make my nose not be shiny without wearing makeup?

For making your nose less shiny, go to Sephora and pick up some "Shine Erasers". It's not makeup, but you put it over your nose and it absorbs the oils.

For the dark bags under your eyes, also go to Sephora and pick up Makeup Forever HD Invisible Concealer. It covers it up and leaves it with a natural matte finish.

Good skin care routine for 15 year old?

what is a good routine and good products to use

Does washing your face with soap really cause acne?

It is not the best thing to do and it overdries your skin. let me explain the importance of a good skin care regimen....first of all, avoid using products formulatted with mineral oil and animal products. These do not get absorbed by the skin and what it does is that it clogs your pores. In fact mineral oil is the 2nd worse thing you could do to your skins health #1 is the sun, it is like rubbing car oil on your skin and exposing yourself to the sun... Animal product come form rendering plants, these plants pick all dead animals from the road, meatmarkets etc and what they do is put them in a huge pot and squash everything inside and boil it the oil that comes to the top is what other companies use to formulate their "beauty" products ... gross i know.. eww lipstick and aghhh .. anyway, the important thing to do is read your ingredients and use the right ones regularly .... also bathing daily cleanses the skin, but it also can dry it out, causing it to look dull, but most importantly, it may cause irritation and remove the natural emolients your body produces to keep it healthy. When you bathe, always use a moisture-rich cleanser, and always pamper your skin with a daily moisturizer. I use arbonne products.... https://secure.myarbonne.com/arbonne/arb... because they are botanically based and you could really see the difference, i had acne and lots of blemishes and my skin has cleared so much, it really is amazing and they have everything for everybody.... theire deep pore cleansing mask and their scrub is just perfect for eliminating the blackheads. Also their face wash is great because it cleanses without drying and removes all traces of makeup and dirt.... works wonderful for me and the bes thing is that you could shop online, receive it in your house and if ther is something you do not like about the products which is rarely to happen, you return the item and they give your money back .... also check this site from the fox news about toxins in beauty products..... http://easylink.playstream.com/ydc/arbon...
