I Want To Change My Government Name

I want to change my government name?!!!!?

My name was originally supposed to be Keylah but I was born with my umbilical cord around my neck, according to my great grand mother if my mom didn't name me Juana I would try to kill my self with a rope around my neck in the future (-_- ******* rediculous i know). Out of fright my mother did not name me keylah and she named me Juana. So from the jump my first name has always only been a name that I am called at school, doctors appointments, you know **** like that. At home ever since I can rememeber I am called by my middle name (Amairani) but (Ama) for short. Now that I am older my first name has become an issue for me, I HATEEEEEEEEE IT! Everytime someone says my name at work (my first name) I want to punch them in the face. For a long time ive been thinking about changing my first name. I'm planning on doing it as a gift to my self for my 20th birthday I was just really wondering how does that work? What process will i have to go through? How much would it cost? I would have to go to court right? Idc the price honestly but i would still like to know.

Just incase you guys are wondering what do i want to change my name to, I'm thinking about either Jaimey or Jayde. Both names that I have wished we're mines since very little. I would highly appreciate it if someone answered me.

Why does the government want to change the name of christmas to just holiday?

The government is not in charge of the name of Christmas. People in general are saying, "Happy holidays" more and more frequently, because there are people who are not Christian and do not celebrate Christmas per se, but still consider December 25th a holiday, and more importantly, there are several different holidays that happen during December and January and there's no point in just saying Merry Christmas and alienating whole sections of society. "Happy holidays" includes Christmas, so people, including some people in the government, would like to include even more people and choose that option rather than just "Merry Christmas."

Can I get a government job after changing my name in India?

If you changed your name before your class 10 exam, then yes sure! (You can get the government job) but if you changed it after class 12 exams, then no, you cannot! because once you have used your original name with all spellings and alphabets intact, it is what all govt. service or pvt. companies look at before hiring you. But if you have altered your name or if you altered a alphabet then you have to officially change it. And now a days govt. rules and regulations have become strict in its approach…so its better you use your old name! It would be better if you went and asked a lawyer or a CA even, in regard to name change. So all the best

I would like to change my family name and take my dad's grandmother's name. Is this possible? If not, is it possible to take my mother's family name?

You can legally, if you live in America (if not check with your government and discern this suggestion), change your full name to whatever you want once you’re of age (18 years old). For instance, if your name was Joan Smith, you could change your name to something else through you local Embassy or City Hall.So I’m saying: you can change your last name to anything you want. It doesn’t matter as long as you have the legal rights :)Check with your local government if you don’t live in America.

How do you legally change your name?

I assume you are a minor? You have to have your parent's permission until you have reached the age of majority (usually 18). These documents must be filed at the court - and so the cost would be filing fees (probate and family court?).
