I Want To Switch High Schools

I don't want to move and switch schools?

In my lifetime I have lived in 5 different states and every timezone in the United States (And I'm still in high school!) I have lived (in chronological order) in Utah, California, Indiana, Virginia, and Washington. So I know how it feels to move all the way across the country. Many people tell me how sorry they am for me having to change schools and environments and such but honestly, at the end of the day I wouldn't have it be any different. Having your world flipped upside down in this way is very good for you in many ways. For one you make friends a lot easier. You also have a greater knowledge of the world around you and the people in it than many of the people that have stayed in the same place their whole lives (including the 4.0 students) Don't think of this move as something to dread. Think of is as an adventure. You will meet friends that you would never have met in your life if you had stayed. I am sure you will find many of the things you have where you are in Michigan as well. Just know that in 20 years you are going to not think of this move as a tragic change but a huge learning experience.

Switching high schools pros and cons?

i would say stay first it depens were you are in high school either freshmen or sophmore or junior or senior if your a freshmen and you really dont wanna stay then say yes to your mom even if you have some friends in school. but if your a junior then i say just stick it out you dont wanna go to a new school and have to start new but you never know maybe moving will be the best thing for you just listen to your heart.

Should I switch high schools?

Alright, I've been debating over this for months. I just finished 9th grade. My parents are divorced but they've lived in the same town for my sake when it came to school. I've gone to the same school district since kindergarten, but I've never really liked it. Especially after I began middle school- there's only about 75 students in my class and I'm friends with some of them but I'm not really close to anyone. Also, I don't like a lot of the teachers in the high school. It's a really small school; it's one of the smallest in the state. My dad is moving to a new town about 45 mintues away and I'm considering switching schools. The new school is bigger, has a wider course selection, a better theatre program (which is my main activity that I do in school), and a chance to make a lot of new friends. Does it matter that I get pretty good grades in the school I'm at now? Should I switch high schools? Thanks.

Moving but don't want to switch schools?

my parents want to move in the summer and the house we want to move to is the county right next to the one im currently living in. the drive from what could me my new house to the school I want to stay at is approx 13-15 minutes. Would I be allowed to drive myself to school? I wouldn't mind. And do I tell them I moved? Or put a friends address down.

Should I switch high schools sophomore year?

Okay so if you couldn't guess I'm a high school freshman right now. I think I might want to switch schools. Right now I'm in a class of barely above 70 kids, and I'm class president. I don't currently have a best friend, but I have a lot of friends and I'm a solid member of the "community". This might sound confusing on why I'd want to switch schools, but the school of switch to has a class size of 200-300 and is, well, different. I have a couple friends there, but we're kinda drifting apart. My class rank is also kinda "eh" and I go to one of the best schools in the state so I think switching would help that. But the thing I don't think I'll ever be able to be up to "class president" personality ever at that school. So you see why I'd be hesitant. I'd still have to convince my parents and stuff, but I really need guidance here, like I can feel this in my chest. I'd love some help, thanks.

Is it smart to switch high schools your senior year?

That will definitely be a bad idea. I had the urge to switch schools in my sophomore year in high school but am soo glad I didn't. You grew up with the people you went to high school with and you really shouldn't be apart from your peers. Besides, you know how your school is run now and a new school will confuse you. Besides it's going to be your senior year. You should concentrate to make your senior year good and do everything you can do make that happen for you next year. If you switch schools, you'll feel like you're at the beginning again and it'll not be good. But it's really up to you. I wouldn't do it though

Should I switch High Schools in my last semester of grade 12?

Should I switch High Schools in my last semester of grade 12?
I am in grade 12, just finishing up the first term of my last year
(Grade 12) in Canada. I am currently trying to decide whether I should switch high schools for the last semester. I currently go to a small private school with good teachers, and I would make a switch to a large public school.
I want to switch because:
- my private school is 30 min away from my house (one way) so it would save me a least an hour on the bus everyday and I have a very buys schedule.
- I don't have any close friends at this school, and I often hangout with my "friends" because there is no one else to hang out with. I feel left out, and I do not fit.
- I only have 2 out of 4 classes next term, so If I went to a school within walking distance I could go to my first to classes and be home by 11:55am.
- I need a change in my life right now
- I really don't want to go to my graduation , so If I went to a large school I could just get my graduation diploma and skip the graduation!

Reasons I don't want to go
- There might get bad teachers at a public school
- Public schools seem really intimidating, and people probably wouldn't be nice to me
- Everyone at my old school and everyone in the community would wonder why I choose to leave, and they would probably think I am a silly girl.

I don't know what I want right now. Any Advice!? Thank you!

Should I switch schools senior year?

For a long time I have complained about my current school for several reason, not enough girls, lol, no activities i can get involved into with the school (debate club, hockey, classes that I really want for example languages like italian, since my school doesnt have that. I live in a pretty small town, so i basically have my reputation and know all of the people I am going to know for my senior year, there arnt many girls who arnt taken or i see myself talking to / have the chance to talk to.
I recently was offered the chance to go live with my grandparents in mount laurel new jersey, opposed to haddon heights, where I would attend Lenape High school. This school had like 6 languages i can choose from to learn, psychology classes, has a debate class, and club, had an ice hockey club with a team in a league, and has a lot more people, so more of a chance for me to find a girl i like ( my school didnt have any of these, and had 2 languages, both I didnt care for as much)
on top of all of that, i found it hard to find a decent job for myself, and as soon as i stayed with my grandfather for a few days he informed me that he knew a man who could probably give me one, since he owned a store that was hiring.
All of this aside, i do not want to risk throwing all i have worked for in haddon heights because as much as I complained about the school every day of my life, i do have some friend, who i can literally trust my life with, and I do not want to lose them, and I have been going to haddon heights High for 6 years ( the JR high is in the same school grades 7-12)
but the school I am going to attend, the more I look into it the more I see everything I did want out of highschool

Also a friend told me (because he considered doing it, not because of all of this) that switching schools senior year is a bad choice, because I will be the new kid and granduate with a class I only will know for 1 year, so by the time I make some friend we will be out of there.

or possibly i will have the shock value of being the "hot new guy" at this new school too and have some girls appreciate me for once lol

Thanks, if you chose to help me on this very hard decision
