Should i get my permit now or wait until i'm 18 and get a license?
Hi i'm about to turn 17 on march 23 and i still havent gotten my permit or license yet but i was going to get my permit around april after i come back from my trip. Should i stil get it then or wait till i'm 18 so i can just have a license?
I lost my permit do i have to wait six months from when i got the 1st one or do i have to start all over again?
i lost it and i got a new one during turkey break and i was just wondering if i have to restart the six months all over again. i got my First permit in august. do i have to restart the dumb 6 months?

Hi... I'm 17 and gonna be 18 in June. I'm about to do my drivers ed and I was wondering if since im gonna be an adult. Do I have to actually wait the 6-8 months before im able to take the driving test? Or could I just get the permit and take it when im 18?

It depends on your state. Here in California if you want to get your drivers license before your 18 you must go through drivers training and driver' education,( not the same thing). It cost about $250 to complete both them you can obtain you drivers license after you pay DMV for the permit test and the behind the wheel test. If you wait until your 18 you only have to pay to take the written and behind the wheel test and you do not have to go through the drivers training or education. Which maybe they should require it for free after one turns eighteen because some of the drivers here in California are horrible drivers. LolI don't know what state you are from so that is only California law you should call DMV and ask in your state.

Here’s the kicker - do you have to have an active learner’s permit in order to test and get your real license? In some places yes, most likely if you are under the age of 18 or 21. You need to ask the people giving you the driving test what you have to do and how long you need to wait before retesting. Either actually talk to a person or go to your state’s (or whatever) website, DMV page, what have you.
